Old Spot Reviews

Alex
Great spot, comfy cottage with all essentials.
Alex
The cabin was lovely, super cosy and peaceful. The pub on site served fantastic food, we really enjoyed our stay! Definitely recommend.
JAMES
The cottage was stunning with all the amenities we requiredand the outdoor decking area was fab, nice and private and well sheltered from any winds plus it had a good gas BBQ. The hot tub was delightful and certainly got a lot of use. The location is perfect, nice and tranquil yet only a short drive to Westward Ho or Bideford!
Lucy
We had a lovely stay at Old Spot. The lodge is very clean and well equipped. Our only complaints were that the wifi was quite weak and the outdoor bin store wasn't well signposted. If you're bringing a dog, just know that the grassy area (for toilet time!) isn't enclosed, only the decking is. Still, this wasn't an issue for us since the pub has shut down, so there weren't many cars around!
Emily
Old spot was lovely! It had a really peaceful location and was spotless both inside and outside. The hot tub was fantastic.
Hannah
We had a fantastic bank holiday weekend soaking up all the fun of Westward Ho! including mini golf, massive ice cream sundaes, exploring rockpoolsand then unwinding in the lovely sunken hot tub. This was our second visit and we had a brilliant time. The cottage is private, well-equipped and just right for spending quality time together!
Emma
We had a fabulous week at Old Spot, stunning location, great facilitiesand a fabulous hot tub! We were greeted with a bottle of wine on our first day, which was such a lovely added touch too! Thanks a million. Would definitely recommend!
Emma
We absolutely loved the location for Westward Ho and the beautiful countryside around it! It's super easy to get to the main routes for exploring the area. Plus, it felt so secluded and peaceful, which was just what we needed.
Emily
We had a fantastic stay in Old Spot recently. The location is perfect for a quick drive into Westward Ho! or Bideford. The communication before arrival was great and the gift left by the owners for our arrival was a lovely added touch. I wouldn't think twice about booking here againand I'm sure we'll be back next year!
Tom
Great concept and lovely location, but only if the Pig on the Hill pub is actually open and not suddenly closed! We received a call telling us that they would be shutting the pub two to three weeks before our holiday! It was way too late to cancel and look for other accommodation. A cab ride into town and back costs 17 round tripand that's on top of eating out every night! It gets pretty expensive. Not a happy bunny!
Sam
A lovely place to stay, really clean and cosy. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub! The only issues we had were that the wifi wasn't great for using on phones and Netflix on the TV, but overall we were pleased with the accommodation and would definitely stay here again! :)
Claire
What a lovely lodge! It’s beautiful and clean, modern yet cosy with wonderful surroundings and views. Unfortunately, it was a bit too out of the way for us. We ended up leaving early after only five nights because of the petrol dramas. We just couldn't get any! The lodge is too far to walk anywhere, so you definitely need a car. It’s a lovely place overall but we probably wouldn't come back since it's quite the drive from home. The owners were really welcoming though, so thank you!
Emma
We had an incredible holiday at the Old Spot Lodge. Perfect location and such a lovely place to stay!
