Beautifully appointed and idyllically located, we had a wonderful short family break despite disappointing weather. The spacious and luxurious summer house with it's top of the range barbeque and overhead heating were the icing on the cake, and the very large and clean hot tub added a touch of glamour. We were even provided with a chilled bottle of pink prosecco, fresh locally made scones, and many other small but thoughtful necessitates such as tea & coffee, both standard and decaffeinated. Chulmleigh is delightfully pretty and feels very remote despite not being far from the M5. Perfect for a short family break, although we could happily have stayed much longer.

The bbq area was also brilliant, and my husband, who is a keen cook thoroughly enjoyed using the outdoor cooking facilities. We had lots of memorable family meals out there during the week. This was our first family holiday with 2 small babies, and Paul and Val were really attentive in making sure we had what we needed for them. We celebrated my mums 60th birthday there and Val even helped us with a few decorations for the occasion and a birthday card! Val and Paul were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The property was beautiful, very well equipped in fact they'd thought of everything you could possibly need super clean, spacious and all the decor was lovely too. The barn is set in very well looked after peaceful surroundings in fact we saw deer and pheasant in the gardens. The relaxing hottub and cabanabbq area was a real bonus. 100 recommendation we will definitely stay again.

Our week at Rodgemonts Barn was amazing. We had four generations on our family holiday, including three young children. It was perfect! Our hosts were amazing and couldnt do enough to make us comfortable, they really went above and beyond. There was so much space for the children to play football and just exploreincluding the woods!! Wow! What can we say? We had the most wonderful stay at Rodgements Barn last weekend! Paul and Val were the most welcoming and friendliest hosts we have ever encountered! The small details and touches definitely didnt go unnoticed and as for the barn and grounds, they were truly stunning! The children enjoyed exploring the woods and running around the extensive grounds. The adults enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and sleeping in the comfiest beds!! This property is beautiful, the owners have thoughtfully and methodically built the properties. No expense has been spared and attention to detail is amazing, and thats just the property! The views are amazing, and there is everything for a wonderful time, the hot tub is great and secluded, the owners have thought of everything and if there is anything they may not have, nothing is to much trouble. What a fabulous property. The photos look lovely on the Sykes website but when we arrived it was even better than we expected. Faultless property, facilities and owners, who were both genuinely friendly and helpful. The location is relatively remote, but as a result, is quiet and restful and the facilities mean that you sometimes just don't want to leave anyway. Already planning a return visit!

We were all really looking forward to our first holiday in nearly 3 years and this property exceeded our expectations. It was beautiful and Paul and Val, the owners, couldnt have done any more to make our stay more welcoming. They are a really lovely couple and we would certainly like to return in the future. Rodgemonts Barn and its grounds is a beautiful, comfort and unique property. It is immaculately cared for, with everything you could possibly need during your stay. The outdoor facilities Hot tub, lawn and BBQ hut was where our family spent every evening of our holiday... eating and playing games. You can choose to sit on the terrace in for breakfast, on the decking for lunch and the BBQ hut for dinner! It is a stunningly peaceful place with beautiful woodlands to also explore. Our hosts, Paul and Val, were exceptional hosts and couldn't have been more wonderful. They thought of everything to make our stay special and enjoyable and nothing was too much trouble for them. We would highly recommend staying here you wont be disappointed!

The cottage itself is furnished to a very high standard and luxurious, making for a lovely, relaxed stay. Our stay at Rodgements was fantastic. The cottage was clean and immaculately presented with everything we needed and more. Particularly enjoyed the bbq area, hot tub and grounds. Having the two bedroom annexes was brilliant...giving us space as a family of 6 adults and a baby plenty of space to relax. This is a fabulous barn conversion in a lovely quiet part of the country. The facilities are awesome with a big hot tub and bbq area which was a great way to spend the afternoonevening. The extensive garden and woodland provided lovely walks and views of the local wildlife. The hosts are exceptional and nothing was too much trouble for them. The location is idyllic and very relaxing, however if you want to visit a beach you need to factor in the journey times as they are not right on the doorstep. We had a lovely time at Rodgemonts Barn, we arrived very late due to a long drive and Paul and Val waited up to make sure we arrived and got settled in. The place far exceeded our expectations, it is a beautiful setting with lots of space for our 4 Children to explore and Enjoy, the Hot tub was great and the BBQ hut was just perfect, I just wish we could have taken that home!!! It felt like the place was brand new, everything was very clean and the facilities were top notch, amazing showers in every room. The separate building with 2 double ensuite rooms worked really well as it gave our 14 year old some space and the grandparents too. We would most certainly go back, Paul and Val were perfect hosts, as a family of 6 it is not always easy to find somewhere that ticks all the boxes but this did and more, 5 star.......

The space has the perfect mix of hi tech modern living and rural relaxation and exceeded our expectations. it is bigger and more luxurious than it looks in the photos There is a heated outhouse with a BBQ which creates another space to have fun in and we also went in the hot tubevery night and the diningliving space is great for cooking and watching films with stunning views on both sides we saw deer casually strolling about in the garden a few times. I have used holiday cottages across the country for 30 years. Simple, this was the best. Val & Paul were so friendly & helpful. The place itself is jaw dropping amazing. Woodland walks direct from the door, 60 Smart T.V, hot tub. We changed our plans so we could dine in every night, and loved the B.B.Q area with a thatched heated lodge with enough space for 8 to drink, dine & play games. We stayed here until 11pm every night. Also spotlessly clean. We will return.

If you are looking for a fun family day out with a difference then a visit to the Hedgehog Hospital is a great choice. While visiting the hospital children can learn about these shy wild animals and the dangers they face in the wild as well as how we can help them. The farm is a halfway house for sick hedgehogs and children can meet some of the animals that are almost ready to go back to the wild. The farm also has a gift shop, a coffee shop and a wildlife garden as well as a pet's area with Rabbits and Guinea Pigs.
