About The Coach House at Plas Dolguog

The Coach House at Plas Dolguog is the perfect rural retreat for families or friends seeking an escape to the breath-taking Welsh countryside, nestled on the outskirts of the historic town of Machynlleth in Powys. Well-positioned near the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, this five-bed home features a pet-friendly garden with private hot tub, a stylish interior, and an elevated position, perfect for appreciating the Welsh landscape.

Park up and ascend the external steps, reaching the enclosed, multi-level garden, a haven for basking in the sunshine, dining alfresco and unwinding in the hot tub, perfectly positioned to take in the beautiful scenes of the county. Step inside this split-level home-from-home and be welcomed by the open-plan living space, the heart of the home, where you can prepare meals in the fully-equipped kitchen, gather around the ten-seater dining table, and unwind upon the plush corner sofa with the woodburning stove in sight; while the night away with the Smart TV for entertainment, or watch the sun set from one of the two private balconies or the verandah.

When you're ready to retire, five inviting bedrooms await; choose from a king-size, a ground-floor king-size with en-suite, two ground-floor doubles, and a ground-floor twin, all serviced by a spacious bathroom. Start your day with a fresh coffee in the conservatory, mapping out your upcoming adventures, before discovering the historic town of Machynlleth and the story of Owain Glyndwr, set in the Dyfi Valley, rich in culture, with several independent shops, farmers markets, cafés, and pubs.

If you're looking to explore further, why not take a drive to the nearby town of Dolgellau and see the birthplace of the Welsh gold rush, or join the New Precipice Walk / Llwybr Llanelltyd trail. The seaside town of Aberystwyth meanwhile can be reached by car, bus or train, where you can take a stroll down the Victorian Pier and view the stunning Cardigan Bay coastline in all its glory, from atop Constitution Hill and its electric cliff railway.
