A fantastic 75inch Ultra HD TV with Netflix and Freeview Play lies central to the seating area which is attached to a contemporary surround sound system that can also connect to your mobile via Bluetooth to let you stream your own music through the 6 speaker system.

Simply open up the full width Bi-fold doors to be at one with the tranquil scenery, a wonderful balcony is your perfect chance to take in the one-of-a-kind landscape and observe the variety of bird life. The address takes its name from the Jackdaws that thrive in the habitat.

The stylish kitchen, twin room and luxury shower room with toilet complete the layout of the ground floor. The lower ground floor is equally as sumptuous, with a modern bathroom mirroring that of a hotel quality.

The bathroom has an oversize bath, and a separate large shower with seating. After a long day, choose from a king-size and twin room with 2 x 4ft beds for a good night's sleep.

Boavista Reviews

Stephanie
Beautiful location and lovely cottage. Came here with our two spaniels, lovely secure garden and balcony areas. Hot tub is a must if you stay here, very clean and views are to die for whilst soaking in the tub. Very well kept cottage and we will most definitely be back again. Thank you.
We loved our stay at Boavista. It is a very well equipped cottage with fantastic views. We enjoyed the open plan living space where we could look out over the quarry lake. The beds were comfortable and I slept very well. The hot tub was a great addition. We thought the location was also great and followed the directions left by the homeowner to walk down to the nearby canal, which was a pleasant walk especially with the beautiful autumn colours at the moment. We also visited the local pub at Over Kellet and had a fantastic meal there. This cottage was a great find and we would definitely stay here again.
Excellent place to recharge your batteries lovely and quiet. A few things need updating which I have mentioned to the owner amongst other things. But it would not stop me booking again.
Jonathan
One of the best holiday homes we have stayed in.

Boavista was the best we loved it and will return
Allison
The cottage was amazing. better than expected. It was modern, immaculately clean, filled with everything you could need for even the longest stay, it was in a stunning location with fantastic views and outside spaces. The size of the TV shocked everyone in our party, it was huge! The only concern I had was testing the hot tub, something I wasn't expecting, and please add a line in the welcome back of where to find the test strips. The owner was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return again and again.
Sharon
A lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Would love to come back again. So peaceful, just what we needed. Thank you.
Stayed at this property for a week and wow. This has got to be up there with some of the best stays we have had. The accomodation was excellant, everything you could want. The kitchen is extremley well equipped with all sorts of home from home essentials. Very comfortable beds, roomy, great showers, a very large bath. The TV was huge and has really good sound surround. The views over the lake onto the quarry are amazing, especially when your sat in the hut tub. We had fabulous weather too which really made it so out came the BBQ.. Andrew was a great host nothing was to much trouble. I could go on and on ... take us back
Heather
Excellent holiday home. Amazing views over the dive centre, wonderful and relaxing to watch the wildlife while sitting on the balcony or relaxing in the hot tub. The house is very comfortable and well equipped and clean. The upstairs area was excellent for my elderly mother, having all the amenities on the one level. There is plenty of out door space, so we could follow the sun from morning to evening. There are lots of places to explore round about and a local village pub with lovely home cooked food. The owner Andy is easily contacted if there are any questions. We loved the property and would definitely return.
Great place. Quiet, comfortable and spacious, yet 5 minutes from the M6 and many amenities in the local village of Carnforth. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed an amazing week break during the recent half term. Cottage is tremendously equipped and in great condition. The views over the lake are lovely and enjoyed watching the swimmers and divers braving the cold water. Hot Tub is the icing on the cake. Will definitely be going again. Also Andy was helpful with anything we needed to know and always easy to get in touch with.

Fab fab fab! The cottage is in a great setting, fantastic views and very tranquil. Everything was provided and more. Plenty of utensils, cooking items etc. Showers were lush. Rooms are spacious. Would definitely recommend. Owners very helpful.
We had a lovely week here. . beautiful place which had everything you could possibly need and more while on your holiday.. when you first walk in the view is breathtaking, you expect it from the pictures but it's even more amazing seeing it in person.. we had a small issue with hot water going off during our stay but the lovely owner was quick to respond and it was soon fixed.. it's safe to say we didn't want to leave this beautiful place and we will hopefully be back in the future.
Lovely cottage. Very clean and had everything there that we needed! Lovely outlook over the quarry and extremely peaceful, which is what we wanted. Would definitely book to go back again in the future. Thank you very much!
A beautiful cottage set in a very quiet location which is exactly what we wanted. Luxury furnishings and superb layout. Owners are fantastic and very helpful. We have no doubt we will be visiting again in the future as everything we wanted was there and more. Thanks
What a beautiful place Boavista is and if you are interested in birds and nature its a great place to visit. Our balcony view was just spectacular over the quarry. The place was so well equipped we couldnt quite believe it. Enjoying bbqs to a Sunday roast with everything we needed. The hot tub just added that extra little bit of Luxury. Our host was extremely helpful and available if we had any questions. I would highly recommend this holiday home and would definitely holiday here again in the future.
Kelvin
The property owner was responsive and helpful. All the details were straightforward. The property is in great condition with everything a family could need. We wouldn't hesitate to book again.

The perfect staycation! Well equipped, cosy cottage with picturesque scenery. We didnt want to come home! We couldnt believe the beautiful view we were welcomed with the second we stepped into the cottage. The hot tub was perfect with an amazing view of the stars at night. The tv with surround sound was fab for an evening film too! Perfectly clean with some lovely personal touches too. Thank you for an incredible stay! Hope to come back soon!
Kathryn
Wow! The photos dont do this property justice. The view of the quarry lake is wonderful and changes during the day reflecting the light. This is a lovely property with every home comfort you need and the owner respires to any queries instantly. The welcome gift was a lovely touch. Everything of good quality and the property was very clean. We enjoyed the Hot Tub which was private and the instructions for use were specific and easy to follow. So many places to visit within a 2030 minute drive. We will definitely return
Fantastic property. Outstanding location. Holiday with elderly mother so great that one room and bathroom on same entrance level with open plan living area. 2 bedrooms on lower floor also with bathroom. Everything you need to self cater which was excellent in the current climate.
Walking into Boavista my description would be wow! The view over Jackdaw Quarry is breathtaking. Everything about the holiday rental was just perfect and of such high quality. The welcome gift was much appreciated. The communication with Sykes and the owner was excellent throughout. We loved the hot tub after days out. The enclosed garden at the side was perfect for our dog. Nice places to visit all close by, Silverdale, Arnside, The Lakes, Ingleton Falls and Kirkby Lonsdale. I thoroughly recommend Boavista and will definitely holiday there again. Visited August 2020 for one week
Jennifer
Having just returned from a two week break at Boavista, what can I say other than the pictures do not do it justice. This is an absolutely stunning property and one of the best that we have stayed in which is high praise indeed as we have been staying in rental properties for the past 12 years and have stayed in over 20 properties. The view is excellent across the quarry and many a happy hour was spent in the hot tub on the lower balcony and sitting on the upper balcony, taking in the view. The kitchen equipment was of good quality and there was plenty of it, I would highly recommend this property for anybody wantiing a quiet area and a wind down, Morecambe Bay is within 7 miles if there was more life needed or for a walk along the seafront, there is also Hest Bank on the way to Morecombe, which is quiet and a haven for dog walkers. we hope to go back to Boavista at some point in the future.
FIRSTLY, Andy & Elaine have a lovely 2 level very clean lodge looking over the old gravel pit, the location is beautiful, totally peaceful. we were a family of 4 ages 86 33. due to the present situation with corona virus we self isolated very easily feeling very safe. going out for drives into the lake district & local supermarkets in Carnforth, Lancaster & Morecombe. the hot tub was a very relaxing alterative for relaxing, you have all the mod cons with Netflix etc, you can live there worry free, a little gem which we will return too. there is an alarm to arm up on exit this also makes you feel safe. again a very comfortable self contained living accommodation with loads of walks and self isolating to boot, what else is there in the current situation to provide a change of scenery.
Move me in!!!
Myself and 5 others stayed at boavista cottage carnforth for 3 nights over the last weekend. We all loved our stay and the cottage is just lovely! Very modern with every appliance, facility, utensil etc you could need for staying away, more than what I have in my own home! The view over jackdraw quarry is amaze and seeing the divers every day is interesting to watch. The cottage was clean, only issue with that is there was a very bad pong coming from the first toilet which didn't go until the sat evening. The cottage is very spacious for 6 people and a dog. The enclosed garden area to the side of the cottage was great for my dog to run and do her business. The hot tub was a great bonus however its not the hottest tub I've been in but we enjoyed it nethertheless. We enjoyed having a good drink the first night with the great sound system and open plan arrangements and hot tub, and 2 chilled nights with the lovely fire place, massive TV and toasty heating system. Issue with wasps that can't be helped but thought i would mention. With it being around a quarry and water there was loads of wasps on the balconies which was irritating when we wanted to eat or chill on the balcony and leave the big doors open throughout the day but didn't bother us to an extreme extent. Also there isn't a path on the road when leaving the cottages making it difficult to go for walks as the road is small and cars flying around so we needed to drive everywhere to be safe. Other than that we all absolutely loved our stay and I didn't want to leave. That's my ideal home haha !! Do not hesitate to book. I mean ?185 each was abit expensive like but once your there you kind of forget about that!
Peaceful and perfect!
What a gorgeous place! As soon as you walk in, you are met by this gorgeous view of the quarry. The lodge is modern with soft coloured decor which adds to the peaceful feel of the place. Mornings waking up to the view and the sounds of nature were bliss! Sitting on the balcony with a coffee in the morning then catching the sun out front in the evenings. The lodge is comfy with under floor heating and the two showers and bath are hot and powerful! In the evenings we spent most of our time on the lower balcony in the brilliant hot tub - a real treat! The lodge has everything you could possibly need for your stay. It's about a 30-40 minute car journey to the Lakes and a 45 minute walk down the canal to a lovely pub. If you are in need of a tranquil getaway near the Lakes, this is the place to go! Thank you for a brilliant holiday!
Lincoln
Boavista is a very spacious property. The views are amazing and in a very private setting. All mod cons and more. A great place to kick back and relax. Great dog walks next to the canal and pubs. Highly recommend this property.
Michelle
We loved the whole holiday. The view was amazing. Everything that we could think of was provided for. The owner was very helpful when we contacted him. We would love to go back.
Amazing accommodation in an absolutely stunning location. Wonderfully peaceful and all the little things thought about.
I will start by saying do not hesitate, just book it, this place is an absolute gem of a find! The location, the views, the lodge itself, everything is superb! Communication with Andy the owner was second to none and I cannot thank him enough, aside from information about the cottage itself to help us during our stay he provided us with a lot of useful information about the area and things to do. Upon arrival the beauty of the location will make your heart jump, as you enter the cottage your heart will jump again, it is amazing, everything is top quality, very high standard and there is everything you could possibly need throughout your stay and the welcome gift was just the icing on the cake. The owners really have taken pride in their home and in ensuring that any guests do not need to worry about a thing it is all catered for within the cottage, tv services, ps4, laundry facilities, underfloor heating, dishwasher, games, I could go on and on! As you make your way out to the balcony the views over the quarry will take your breath away, it is out of this world, we could not believe we were in the uk! Waking up to this every morning, watching the fish, ducks, swimmers and divers from the balcony was lovely. The hot tub overlooking the quarry was a fantastic way to relax after a long walk or busy day site seeing. We had an issue wth hot water on our first morning waking in the cottage, I emailed Andy and within 5 minutes Steve the lovely maintenance man was at the door and the problem was sorted within 10 minutes, outstanding customer service. Supermarkets are 5 minutes drive away and everything you need or want is never too far away. Our week here was one of the best weeks away we have had, so beautiful, so relaxing, allowed us to enjoy our family time properly. We instantly tried to book again for next year but someone has beaten us to it but we will not hesitate to revisit Boavista again in the future and would highly recommend it to anyone. Thanks Andy. From The Postlethwaites.
Rachel
We had such a lovely weekend away and will definitely be returning! Location is beautiful and great for a cheeky walk to the pub not that we wanted to leave the house!
Beautiful house with amazing views. Very clean, modern and comfortable. Owner very helpful and good communication before we arrived. Personal touch very much appreciated. Hot tub was fantastic. Could not fault anything, highly recommend. We enjoyed a fabulous week here. Thanks
This is our second visit to boavista and will not be our last . The owners own a stunning cottage which has everything and more you could need . Andy and his wife go over and above to make your stay the best it could be . Stunning views, stunning sunsets and we love everything about this cottage . Cannot recommend highly enough .
Catherine
This holiday cottage was an absolute gem of a discovery. It was in such a peaceful location with the most spectacular view. It had everything you could possibly want need. It also had a decent sized enclosed garden to let your dog run free which was brilliant. A lovely welcome gift was there waiting for us which was a thoughtful and much appreciated thought. Fantastic communication with the owner prior to the stay and also afterwards. We wanted a relaxing week and that's what we got from Boavista. We will definitely return in the future.
What a wonderful place, firstly being greeted by a small looking place which once inside is huge with possibly one of the best view ever. The peace and quiet in a semi rural location is heavenly but also a short drive to pubs, shops and the sea. The whole experience was amazing, almost everything is provided from the kitchen to the bathroom and the extras such as board games, PS4 and all the handy leaflets with local attractions and area to visit was a welcome surprise. The whole place was amazing, waking up and seeing the beautiful blue water in the quarry and watching people diving and swimming! To relaxing under the stars in the hot tub, it has everything you could wish for. The whole site is peaceful and allows you to unwind and relax in a glorious setting with the added bonus of allowing you to take the dog to join in the relaxation on the balcony. The fact it fit our needs perfectly was joyous due to requiring dog friendly accommodation but also disabled accessible facilities and jackdaw quarry definitely delivered in all areas, I would how ever have liked a vac and extra tea towels for the kitchen but other than that the whole experience was lovely and will definitely be returning. Im keen to see all the other properties too and see how the view changes from the different angles of the quarry. Anyone debating booking this place should definitely do it as its a gorgeous place for all size parties and a great place to relax and appreciate your surroundings in a comfortable and amazing home that provides everything you could wish for and exceeds expectations.
Jessica

Stunning property with stunning views . The owner catered for our every need beyond a standard holiday rental . A wonderful holiday in luxurious accommodation and surroundings and we are returning in April . Cant recommend this cottage any higher , 5 star is not enough ! A definite must visit . Many thanks x
The place was fabulous, there were a few things that need to be addressed like a fuse blew in the first 15 minutes of being there when we switched on the outside light and it was very difficult to find the fuse box, we couldn't find any instructions as to where it was. The 4 of us found it in the end but I think for people more elderly it may have been difficult. Also there was a lot of hair in the beds, I am sure they had been washed but I think maybe they need to be shaken before they are put in the washing machine so the hair is no longer there. Also there was no colander. Overall a great place though, lovely views, well equipped and done up to a very high standard. We will be going back again.
Richard
Great facilities at the boavista. Everything you need for a nice relaxing break, made even better by the owners letting us know about local event's so we could maximise our experience staying there
Dursun
Beautiful accomodation at a beautiful location. Had a really nice time, everything you need was there. The view from the cottage was stunning, even though we visited during a cold time of year, just going out to the balcony in the morning with a cup of coffee and relaxing is the best way to start the day. We went 6 people and it was a really nice experience. Would definitely be back again.
