Marshwood House Annex Reviews

Emma Parker
We had a lovely stay and found the location perfect for exploring the local sights. The house was well-equipped and comfortable, making us feel right at home. Raquel was very welcoming and friendly, which was a nice touch. The hot tub in the evenings was perfect for unwinding after a day out. Being in the countryside, the Wi-Fi wasn’t always reliable, but the full Sky TV with movies kept us entertained when needed. We'd definitely consider coming back if we're nearby again!
James
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely clean, brightand modern property with its large rooms. The high spec equipment in both the bathrooms and bedrooms was fantastic! The hot tub was definitely a nice bonus, though the patio area isn’t super privateand there’s a shared garden. The location was decent, but we expected it to be a bit more rural based on what we saw on Google Earth!
Emma
A great annex in a lovely rural location. It's very clean and well-equipped. The owner family are nearby and really lovely and helpful. The hot tub was fantastic and a great base for local walks and exploring the area.
Emily
What a lovely property! It's super clean and really comfortable. The beds are wonderfully comfy. The hot tub was a nice touch! It's in a quiet area, but still easy to get to Cambridge for a day trip. We felt it was good value for a weekend stay.

As a family of four with two young boys aged 9 and 5, we had an excellent stay! The hot tub, tennis courtand playground were major highlightsand there’s just such an incredible amount of space for the kids to roam. It’s perfect for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The property is well furnished in a modern style - everything's clean and spacious. The kitchen is equipped for a decent amount of home-cooking, so it really felt like a home away from home. The owners were super friendly and communicative too. Plus, there are various things to do within a 15 to 30-minute drive, with lovely parks nearby to walk to.
Fiona
This property is absolutely gorgeous and has been decorated to a really high standard! The grounds are lovely and the location is perfect for exploring the surrounding areas. It’s super quiet too. The owners are really helpful and friendly. We visited Woburn Safari Park, which was just about 30 minutes away by car.
Tom
Such a lovely place to stay! We spent 4 nights here and really loved it. The owners are super kind and really polite too.
Sarah
We just returned from a long weekend with my husband and our two boys. Our stay was really lovely and the owners on site made us feel very welcome! The house was cute and the grounds were simply amazing! We also checked out Gullivers Land and Willen Lake.
Louise
The annex was clean and comfortableand the owners were super friendly and welcoming! We used the place as a base since London is only about 40 minutes on the train and also 40 minutes by car to Cambridge. Local supermarkets are just a quick 5-minute drive awayand there are a couple of restaurants around 10 minutes away. We found Bedford town centre a bit run down and disappointing, but hey, there are plenty of interesting places nearby like Bletchley Park. Plus, the accommodation has a hot tub and a tennis court, which we really enjoyed using!

The Royal Forest of Rockingham - LE16 8UW
about 13 Miles
The Royal Forest of Rockingham in Northamptonshire is the perfect place to enjoy a range of outdoor pursuits including Walking, Cycling, Nature Trails and Horse Riding. The beautiful medieval hunting forest offers areas of ancient woodlands, agricultural land and peaceful stone-built forest villages. The forest is also abundant with wildlife including Deer, Squirrels, Butterflies and Birds.
Old Dairy Farm Centre - PO30 2NB
about 26 Miles
Suited to families with children of all ages this is a fantastic attraction in Northamptonshire.  There are many special events held throughout the year so don't forget to check what's happening while you are staying in the region.  Some highlights include the lambing weekends and the monthly local food fayres.
Old Dairy Farm Country Shopping and Craft Centre - LE14 3PF
about 26 Miles
From shopping to home cooked refreshments this is a wonderful day out in the pretty village of Upper Stowe.  You can enjoy amazing views over the Northamptonshire countryside and wander around the complex of stone built farm buildings.  Each building houses something different such as the Occasions Florist, Itsy Bitsy Gifts, Hayrack Gallery and Sheer Delights Lingerie.  When it's time for a rest the Barn Restaurant and Tea Room is the place to go.  There is a small selection of animals at the centre too which younger children will love.  They currently have two Kune Kune pigs, sheep, hens and ducks.  If you are looking for upmarket holiday accommodation in the Northamptonshire area then the luxury lodges at Wicksteed Park are sure to impress.
Catanger Llama Trekking - NN12 8LJ
about 28 Miles
This is a really unique attraction and certainly worth a visit in our opinion.  Established in 1995 and situated in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside this attraction will appeal to those looking for something a little different.  You can't ride the animals but you can trek alongside them and enjoy the fantastic scenery.  From farm tracks to country lanes the gentle animals will carry your rucksack for you along the way.  There are personally guided treks available all year round and you will have your own Llama for the trek.
