Glapthorn Manor Reviews

Wonderful warm welcome helpful responsive host who dealt with minor queries speedily.
Stephen
The house more than met our expectations and proved to be ample space for our family celebration. Our group comprised 8 adults, 8 children 513yrs and 2 dogs and although we occupied all available beds, at no time did the house feel crowded. The facilities were excellent, the hot tub was very popular and the lovely garden was appreciated by all. Whilst we did not meet Katie in person, she helpfully made contact with us and was very accommodating.

Table tennis was a fun activity which was hampered by uneven surface

A very beautiful home that was perfect for our weekend celebrating a birthday. The kitchen had everything we could ask for, the hot tub and large garden were a delight and the beds were extremely comfortable! Katie was very welcoming and helpful. The weather was too nice to enjoy it this weekend but there is a spacious and beautiful dining room that I'm sure would make for excellent dinners. The area was great for exploring and we enjoyed walks to the local pubs. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

An ideal house for a family get together 4 generations, 8 adults and two children. Lots of spaces downstairs and outside for games and socialising. An amazing dining room if you are having a special do and want to eat in we hired a chef for a 90th. Plenty of fridges, cutlery and pots for the stated number of people. The kitchen has all you need. Not ideal for the infirm as lots of steps, mainly steep to the first and second floor, but lots of bedrooms with showers if can't get in a bath once upstairs. We took our own high chair etc. Fortunately we took an extra wide stair gate but it's a lovely old building and it would only fit one corridor upstairs. The building has lots of character it's very old which we loved and an aga which the older relatives enjoyed sitting near! Hot tub was a bonus. We found lots of parks and places to visit around and had some lovely meals out as well. We had no problems but felt it would have been quickly sorted out by Katie if there had been. She was very welcoming and checked in occasionally to see all was well. Would highly recommend, thank you for having us.

Host was very welcoming and the house is located close to many areas of interest. Table tennis table and hot tub were particular favourites. The house catered well for our party of 18 and the Aga supplying constant hot water for tea was particularly appreciated. Would certainly visit again.
A fantastic house, spacious, roomy and extremely warm. The enormous Aga in the kitchen probably helped! We were a group of ten and everyone was extremely comfortable. The location suited us perfectly for a winter holiday there is plenty of walking and an array of interesting old buildings to visit. Our hosts made us feel extremely welcome, and were always available to answer any questions we had. Thank you!
Lovely house and gardens, plenty of room for a big family party. We took lots of cooking supplies with us just in case but we didn't need to as it had everything we needed. The house was warm and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
A wonderful family home which accommodated our large family celebration eight adults, six small children and one dog! . Bearing in mind that we visited in December, it was lovely to enjoy the warm house with Aga in the kitchen and open fire. We actually used the BBQ for one evening meal! Superb location with wonderful facilities on site hot tub, large walled garden, sitting out area in the summer and so close to Oundle and Stamford. A floor planner would help with understanding how the sleeping arrangements on the second floor work! No toilet facilities on that floor. One burst external pipe caused by the frost. Support was on hand very quickly.

We thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful family weekend in beautiful Glapthorn Manor. Katie was welcoming and helpful. A good time was had by our entire family, young and old!
We, along with our three younger families, have all thoroughly enjoyed the house, garden and facilities including the three younger children between five and thirteen.

I came here with family and friends for my mums 60th birthday and we've just had the greatest weekend! Katie was a fabulous host, who we got to meet when we arrived, she even gave us a bottle of champagne to help us celebrate
We had a lovely time at Glapthorn Manor. We were 3 generations and our dogs and it was perfect for all of us to get together or separate off if we wanted. The garden was thoroughly enjoyed by humans and canines. The owner was kind enough to allow us to bring extra dogs too so we could all holiday together. We would certainly go back but can't next year as our family is growing and unfortunately the property won't be big enough for all of us A lovely property and would recommend
We had a lovely stay at this beautiful home. The Manor is huge with plenty of shared spaces and comfortably accommodated our large group. The rooms are decorated thoughtfully and to a high standard and everything was clean and tidy. We made good use of the hot tub and the garden and it was a relief to find somewhere totally petfriendly. The hosts responded immediately to any queries and were very warm and welcoming.

The most beautiful house we have ever stayed in, it really made you feel at home as soon as you walked through the door. We were a family including 5 grandchildren and 3 dogs celebrating my 65th birthday and it had absolutely everything we needed. The beds were so so comfortable, 2 beautiful lounge areas, a formal dining room plus a warm family kitchen area. The garden was huge, the grandchildren played football, rounders and cricket with plenty of room for all. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning
Courtney
We had such a lovely stay! The house was beautiful, it was really clean, it was warm, the beds were super comfortable, nice showers, we and the dogs loved the garden and the games provided! The bottle of cava, chocolates and card on arrival was such a lovely touch, thanks so much! The only thing I would say is we expected there to be more cleaning products like sponges, dishwasher tablets, disinfectant spray and wipes etc as we had to go and buy all of these. Overall we really did love our stay and would definitely book to stay at Glapthorn again, thanks so much!
What a great place to stay and in stunning countryside
Beautiful house, very comfortable warm and clean. Perfect for a group family holiday thank you!
Christine
This is a lovely historic house which was ideal for our large family group of mixed ages. It is very cosy and comfortable and the hosts were welcoming and accommodating. The outside area, which we didnt fully utilise, must be lovely in Summer. There are good walks locally and Oundle is an attractive town. The house has interesting antique objects but there were a few minor niggles e.g. with lights not working.
Nilima
This was a lovely well equipped property in a lovely location. The gardens are perfect for the children to run around and we of course made full use of the outdoor space and hot tub. Greeted with wine, chocolates, milk, tea and coffee highly appreciated although we do not consume alcohol, and a lovely note from the owners. The horses on the field were enjoyed by the children, with owners allowing the children to pet them and talking to them about the horses. The children fully enjoyed their stay. We enjoyed a lovely family get together with lots of space, sunshine and greenery. The Manor is well located to a Waitrose so the quick shop was possible for essentials. We needs a slightly later checkout which was accommodated by our hosts. This was much appreciated by our New Yorkers who have not acclimatised to British timings yet
