Someplace Else Reviews

What a lovely relaxing place. Great to use as a base to explore. Hot tub was great, ready and waiting at the end of the day. Maintained by Eugene on a daily basis. Nothing better than sat in the hot tub watching the wildlife.
Michael
This a very well equipped, clean lodge. We had a wonderful time, enjoying some wildlife and the hot tub. Good location, short drive to Diss and Thetford. Good food at the local pub 5 minute walk up the road. Would highly recommend.
A lovely stay at Someplace else that we would recommend. Beautiful setting, that is peaceful and private. Very welcoming hosts, with the extras such as tea bags and biscuits fully appreciated. Me and my husband thoroughly enjoyed staying here, finding watching the wildlife from the hot tub so peaceful. Lodge is clean and comfortable, with bedding and towels smelling amazing! Fully equipped kitchen, with everything we could need. And if there was something else, we were fully aware hosts would help! Hope to be back soon thank you!
Elizabeth
Someplace Else is a beautiful lodge, spotless and lots of extras included. On arrival we had welcome tea, coffee, milk, sugar and a lovely selection of biscuits. There were huge fluffy towels and bathrobes included, a wonderful clean kitchen with all the facilities that you would need. Set in a beautiful lush green garden with lots of wildlife to see. Relaxing and peaceful, a perfect get away with lovely friendly and welcoming hosts. Highly recommended.
Andrew
Owners were very helpful upon arrival. The tea Coffee sugar and milk to get us going was a nice touch. The owls were a nice surprise! Deer were seen in the mornings, together with other wildlife. Very peaceful, and relaxing, and the hot tub was checked twice a day. The only minor thing you could do to improve the stay, would be to put an overhanging umbrella over the hot tub. But you cant fault the cottage in anyway. Perfect, private and peaceful.
Millie
We had an absolutely lovely stay! The hosts were accommodating and every single thing was thought about. The lodge was spacious and comfy, and it felt very homely. The hot tub was a lovely touch also! We will definitely be coming back! Thank you.
Brandon
Hosts were super super lovely, entire cabin, hot tub and outside area couldn't be any cleaner. Couldn't fault a thing. Kitchen was incredibly equipped and so many considerate little touches.
Ashley
Fantastic, great location & accommodation very nice, lots of nice extra touches. Would definitely go back.
We had a lovely stay the lodge was fully equipped and had everything we needed. The hot tub was amazing and very peaceful while looking out over the stunning garden and variety of wildlife the highlight being a pair of Muntjacs grazing. The pub 5 minute walk around the corner was very nice great food and a nice atmosphere, and there are plenty of amenities in Diss. We will definitely be returning if not just for the hot tub!
My wife and I had a very relaxing and quiet time. The facilities were of a very high standard and very easy to use. There was a tv in the lounge and the bedroom. The hot tub was lovely and the view over the extensive garden was great. There was a lot of varied wildlife that came into the garden and was nice to see from the tub. If you are looking for a very quiet place and like to look at nice local towns this is an ideal place
The cottage was amazing, attention to detail was brilliant, met all of our needs, was able to relax, the wild life in the garden made is picture perfect. The cottage was remote enough and also close enough to the towns and local villages, the hot tub was a great addition to relax in and regard from our busy work life.
Amelia
Phenomenal little hide away. Wild deer, rabbits playing, a hot tub to watch them in. The lodge is super homely, with supplies for tea and biscuits. Clean and well presented. Overall 1010.
An amazing little lodge, spotlessly clean & very comfortable. Very well equipped with everything you needed to cook a meal. Very relaxing watching the wildlife on the lovely big garden. Hot tub fantastic...Can't fault anything. We had such a chilled out break. Hosts are great, never bothered us but there when we needed them. Pub 5 minute walk away. More pubs & supermarkets a short drive away. Perfect

Eugene and jane are great hosts. The welcome pack is a great addition. The property is beautiful and spotless. The hot tub is maintained every day when you are away so as not to intrude.
Exceptional rental property. Everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable stay was provided. Hosts extremely helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Wildlife in the huge garden was lovely to watch with a glass of wine on the terrace in the eveningbirds, rabbits, squirrels and deer. Hot tub was very welcome after a day exploring the area. Would definitely recommend this property and will certainly be returning. Thank you Jane & Eugene
The lodge had every facility we could have hoped for and the owners, Eugene and Jane were always on hand if we had any queries. The accommodation was very comfortable and peaceful. The hot tub was very relaxing despite the 40 degree heatwave! The property was finished to a high standard as it was built just before Covid pandemic, so everything was brand new. I would definitely recommend SomePlace Else to anyone who wants a quiet break in Norfolk.

Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE
about 3 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 11 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - IP28 6HX
about 15 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
Ickworth House, Park & Gardens - IP29 5QE
about 18 Miles
The National Trust Ickworth House, Park & Gardens is a Beautiful 1800 acre country estate with many attractions including a fantastic adventure playground for the children and a range of nature trails which the whole family will enjoy. The site also has a family friendly cycle route a gift shop and a small café
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 22 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
National Horse Racing Museum - CB8 8JL
about 27 Miles
This is a museum with a difference and a must see if you are into horse racing.  You can take guided tours around the museum or choose to wander round yourself admiring the exhibits.  New for 2010 is a Junior Fun Tour which is ideal for children.  Simply ask the gallery staff for a Fun Tour pack when you enter the museum and kids can answer questions and spot clues and tips on the way round.  One of the most popular recent exhibitions is the Thoroughbred: State of the Art exhibition in Gallery 5 on until 31st October.  Check out their websites for the latest exhibitions.
Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 28 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
Africa Alive - NR33 7TF
about 29 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
