We chose to explore this wonderfully wild and unspoilt part of Cornwall from a cottage base and we had everything we could have asked for, in this lovely cottage. Great shower, soft towels and well equipped kitchen. Though eating out in St Just and Penzance was easy too, as they are only a short drive a way. The hot tub in the evenings helped us soak away all those walking aches and enjoy the sea views from the cottage garden.

Beautifully decorated cottage containing everything you need for a relaxing holiday, surrounded by fields including some ancient ruins. I appreciated the welcome basket of food, large screen in the sitting area, underfloor heating (in the Winter weather) and the large walk-in shower. Dove Cottage is a short drive from a lovely beach and seaside sho ps. I highly recommend a fascinating little shop called "Treasure" which sells art, crafts and vintage gifts! We had a hearty meal at the Kings Arms.

We were welcomed at the cottage on our arrival by the owners Wendy & Pete, who are lovely people. The cottage is of a high standard with everything new, well equipped and warm. There was a welcome pack which was a nice gesture, as well as a local ordinance map to help us find our way around. Dove Cottage is central to a number of places worth visit ing, St Ives via the coast road, Sennen Cove, St Michaels Mount, etc. Highly recommended.

Other attractions include Scull Rock - A 4D film experience and Greeb Farm - A small animal farm which is sure to be a big hit with younger children. Paradise Park - TR27 4HY

Paradise Park first opened its doors in Cornwall in 1973 and has been one of the regions top attractions ever since. What was once just a tropical bird garden is now a refuge for many different species of animal and aims to be educational as well as fun for its visitors. The inhabitants include some typical UK creatures including Otters, and Red Squirrels as well as some more unusual and rare animals including Red Pandas. Younger children will enjoy meeting the friendly animals in the farm area. The site has recently been extended and now also has a fantastic Jungle Barn where kids can let of steam.

Look out for seasonal events too such as the Fire in the Sky event on 27th October 2010 - discount advance tickets are available for most of the events so don't forget to check out their website. Some of the most popular thrill rides include the first Twisting Droptower in the UK called the Skyraker 001. The Hornert Rollercoaster is also not to be missed.

The Rock Gardens Caves and Nursery have an amazing setting in the old Palace Quarry. The gardens offer an abundance of trees, plants and floral displays including a very grand 80ft Elm Tree and a stunning Weeping Ash. The site also offers a large carp pond, a breathtaking illuminated cave and a tea room serving tasty local produce.
