The Hyde Reviews

Lovely house, spotlessly clean. Perfect for 2 couples. Helpful owner and thankyou for the welcome flowers, fizz and brownies!
The Hyde is designed, built and maintained to a high standard. Located well as a base for the many attractions of the area. The use of the hot tub an added bonus. Beds comfortable. Note there is no microwave. The only negative is the traffic noise from the busy road right next to the building, even shook the building violently once when a heavy vehicle went past at speed. Perhaps wouldn't bother those used to such noise. Owner pleasant and helpful.
Nathan
My family and I had a lovely few nights stay at The Hyde. Its a beautiful little cottage in a lovely location, with everything you could possibly need and more. We will be visiting again.
Pamela
Beautiful cottage with very good quality fixtures and fittings. Unfortunately the ceiling height upstairs proved challenging for my 6ft 2in tall husband. If Im going to nitpick, some small tables in the sitting area would be useful to put a cup or glass down. Otherwise its a perfectly equipped holiday home and the hot tub is a real bonus. Thank you to the owners for the welcome treats too.
Vivienne
The Hyde is a wonderful holiday property . .we have just come home after our 3rd stay there, which says it all! The Hyde is spotlessly clean and has everything you could possibly need so its a real home from home. The owners, Averil & Simon are fabulous too! We shall definitely stay there again!
Excellent from start to finish. The hosts were lovely and shared some great recommendations for places to visit and eat in the local area. The property was immaculate and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there thank you!
Shirley
A very clean well laid out holiday property, with good quality furnishings and linen. Is fitted with everything you need.Beds were very comfortable. With windows open some road noise if you are not used to this.We had three adults staying, and there was plenty of room. Well situated for all the tourist attractions.
Lovely cottage done out to a high standard. Owners really helpful and friendly. Lovely local pub and cottage is situated where exploring the Cotswolds is easy. Loved staying there would definitely return thank you

It was a great stay for me and my partner, very clean, quiet and great facilities. Hosts were great too with good communication!
The Hyde most definitely deserves all the 5 star reviews, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was peaceful, surrounded by fields with easy access to Stratford Upon Avon and Warwick as well as the Cotswolds, a real gateway for lots of exploring, with some lovely villages in easy reach with fantastic pubseateries. The property itself was amazing, fantastic decor and spec throughout, the beds were super comfortable best nights sleep ever both bedrooms with lovely en suite bathrooms. The downstairs was lovely a cosy, with everything you could want for a break away from home and a gorgeous log burner. The hot tub was clean and well maintained, with views over the field and surrounded by twinkling lights, fantastic end to the days. The stars of the show were most definitely the hosts, from the welcome gifts, the service, the recommendations for local meals and even driving us to a pharmacy when our daughter was poorly. Both Simon and Averil went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing stay, without being intrusive. Our family does lots of these breaks and I can honestly say this has been my favourite thank you both for being awesome, we will definitely be back!

We have stayed in many self catering properties and this is up there with the best of the best. We arrived at the Hyde on New Years day after a hectic December. It was exactly what we needed peaceful, quiet, relaxing, beautiful location and well equipped with everything we needed. There were also plenty of places to visit nearby. We including our 10 year old son enjoyed the hot tub. We would love to go back to the Hyde again sometime. Thanks Simon and Averil for creating such a beautiful place to stay.

Excellent property. Lovely location.
A marvellous and magical place. We have travelled extensively throughout the world, 5 and 6 star hotels. The Hyde is a real find, with excellent facilities, the hot tub was a delight at the end of a busy day. A very relaxing and enjoyable break close to many beautiful villages and gardens. Averil was a joy to meet, thank you for your hospitality Lynne and Maurice Holmes.
Lovely views across countryside from upstairs windows. Comfortable and stylish bedrooms and lounge area. Kitchen area very clean and appliances easy to use. Shower was a good size and nice, strong jet of water. Well placed in the road network for touring the Cotswolds as well as visits to Midland towns and cities, particularly StratforduponAvon. The brownies and eggs left for us by the owner were delicious.
An absolutely beautiful cottage in a perfect location to see all the perfect villages and attractions. It was perfect relaxing in the hot tub at the end of the day. We will definitely return for another relaxing break.

The Hyde is an incredible little place and the location is amazing with easy access to lots of great towns nearby. Our stay couldn't have been better, it had everything we needed and it was spotless when we arrived. The hot tub is a great addition and was very relaxing on a summer's evening! The owners Averil and Simon are both lovely and so easy to get on with, I will definitely be booking it again sometime in the near future!

The Hyde is an absolute gem, nestled in the beautiful Cotswolds, and had everything we could possibly need to make our stay an enjoyable one. From the high end fixtures and fittings to the hot tub and everything else in between, it all contributed to a beautifully relaxed week for us both. We went on many different walks and explored lots of beautiful villages, Broadway was a particular highlight for us and the walk up to the Tower provided breathtaking views. Not for the faint hearted though! We had a lovely time and would recommend to all.

Spetchley Park and Gardens in Worcestershire are the perfect place for a day trip all year round. During the summer months the gardens are really at their best with beautiful displays of flora and fauna. Many families choose to bring a picnic and there are several picnic tables in the grounds. The deer park is also a big hit with children as well as grown ups. The onsite tea room serves tasty sandwiches and cakes and uses local produce where possible.
Catanger Llama Trekking - NN12 8LJ
about 22 Miles
This is a really unique attraction and certainly worth a visit in our opinion.  Established in 1995 and situated in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside this attraction will appeal to those looking for something a little different.  You can't ride the animals but you can trek alongside them and enjoy the fantastic scenery.  From farm tracks to country lanes the gentle animals will carry your rucksack for you along the way.  There are personally guided treks available all year round and you will have your own Llama for the trek.
Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens - OX18 4JP

This has to be one of the most popular days out in Oxfordshire and is sure to appeal to nature lovers, animal lovers and keen gardeners.  Families and couples will enjoy wandering around this amazing park with a wide variety of mammals and birds to see as well as reptiles. Some of the most popular animals are the Burrowing Owl, Dexter Cow, African Pancake Tortoise and the Bar Headed Goose.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and special offers.
Old Dairy Farm Centre - PO30 2NB
about 25 Miles
Suited to families with children of all ages this is a fantastic attraction in Northamptonshire.  There are many special events held throughout the year so don't forget to check what's happening while you are staying in the region.  Some highlights include the lambing weekends and the monthly local food fayres.
Old Dairy Farm Country Shopping and Craft Centre - LE14 3PF
about 25 Miles
From shopping to home cooked refreshments this is a wonderful day out in the pretty village of Upper Stowe.  You can enjoy amazing views over the Northamptonshire countryside and wander around the complex of stone built farm buildings.  Each building houses something different such as the Occasions Florist, Itsy Bitsy Gifts, Hayrack Gallery and Sheer Delights Lingerie.  When it's time for a rest the Barn Restaurant and Tea Room is the place to go.  There is a small selection of animals at the centre too which younger children will love.  They currently have two Kune Kune pigs, sheep, hens and ducks.  If you are looking for upmarket holiday accommodation in the Northamptonshire area then the luxury lodges at Wicksteed Park are sure to impress.
