Auckland Cottage Reviews

We did enjoy our stay but we were very disappointed to fine that the basics hadn't been provided for out arrival. We had a group of 9, 5 being male. None of our group were able to wash there hands after using the toilet on arrival. We expect there to be a small supply of tea, coffee, sugar and milk as most places offer. But we at least expect soap as the bare minimum. We literally had to go to the shop before washing hands. We had to buy everything from salt and pepper, to kitchen foil and washing up liquid. 2 dishwasher tablets were not sufficient. There was a dead fly I'm the unsuite and toothpaste up the door and inside the mirrored unit. The floor in the downstairs toilet was also dirty. Apart from that we did enjoy our stay. Thanks.

We recently stayed at this Cottage and were extremely disappointed with our experience. From the start, we encountered numerous issues that were never resolved, despite contacting the host. There was no WiFi, the hot tub displayed an error message and had a broken lid, and the TV didnt work. The cleanliness was very subparfrom a filthy shower curtain, too cleaning items like a rusty dirty mop and bucket left to great you on arrival. Additional inconveniences included a washing machine that moved around the kitchen when in use and a clothesline that had to be retrieved from a bush. After three days, none of these problems were addressed, and our stay was significantly affected. We expected a comfortable, clean, and wellmaintained space, but unfortunately, this was far from what we experienced and due to the nature of the issues we decided to end our stay 4 days early. I cannot recommend this property based on our stay.

Fab stay, very friendly, lots to do and beautiful location
We had a really lovely stay thank you so much the cottage is beautiful it had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. Some lovely walks from the door and only a short journey when venturing to other attractions like Hamsterley forest Wolsingham and Stanhope. If pressed to give an improvement idea I would suggest a bit more privacy around the outside space specifically the hot tub could maybe have a frame around it. But certainly overall we had a fantastic family holiday and enjoyed every moment. The kids have requested a special shout out to the swimming pool , that was their absolute favorite part. Thank you .

We ended up upgrading the the larger cottage as there was last minute availability and it was fantastic! Beautiful cottage, beautiful surroundings and excellent facilities!
We all had a wonderful week at Auckland Cottage, notwithstanding the weather. Cottage is spacious and comfortable, and the owner was friendly, and accessible if you needed him. The swimming pool was a real bonus on the several rainy days. Really enjoyable trip.
We really enjoyed the facilities. Cottage felt a bit. Cramped for 5 adults and 3 children in the living room. Would book a bigger cottage for the facilities.
The house was lovely and clean and whilst basic it done the job. The shower nearly burnt skin off when someone flushed the toilet so please be aware of this especially if you have children using the shower! The pool was a great added bonus the kids loved it and the private hot tub was really clean and perfect for relaxing! Lovely location and the views were amazing! Would stay again and recommend to friends and family.
My familys stay in the cottage was great. It really did have everything needed. We all loved the swimming pool and sauna and used the hot tub a lot . Tony was very helpful and answered any questions we had. It was a lovely setting and away from the hustle and bustle of city life., although there were various towns not far away. I highly recommend to stay at this beautiful location. Oh and the snooker table was great too

Loved our stay in Auckland cottage facility s were perfect hot tub and pool were ... Loved our stay in Auckland cottage facility s were perfect hot tub and pool were beautiful we will be booking again thank you again
Great location, had almost exclusive use of the pool which was lovely and unexpected with 3 young kids getting a few hours each morning. Spas were clean and kept at a toasty temp. Would return tomorrow if holidays allowed.
Me and my family had a lovely stay at this cottage for Christmas and would definitely recommend this cottage to friends.
We thought it would be more private, a couple of times we couldnt use the pool, which we werent aware about, not enough towels between 6 of us, 2 hand towels! Also we didnt think we would be sharing with micevoles that were living in the 2 seater sofa and lastly when we stripped the beds there were loads of holes in the duvets, apart from that we did enjoy the break away
The cottage was lovely . Comfortable , clean and well equipped. The pool and hot tub were brilliant and well used by the family. The area is absolutely beautiful. We loved all the walks and exploring different places. And waking up to the fantastic view from our cottage was a joy and something special. Sad to have to leave.

We had a fantastic time. Definately would stay again, maybe in the summer. Only one downside for us was that there was only one shower.
We were unfortunate to visit the cottage at the time of a severe weather storm. The cottage was lovely unfortunately due to the power loss we had to stay in a cold cottage the hot tub was not accessible until the last day of the weekend due to the lack of power. I accept this was no fault of the owner but I do feel we did not get what we paid for. I would like to stress had there not been a power loss it would have been a lovely weekend
Just the best
Steven
This was a fantastic cottage and had the hot tub and swimming pool. Tony the owner was over to see us after we arrived and offered information on things to do and where to go. All in all we enjoyed our stay at Auckland cottage and we would definitely come back to stay another time. Thanks Tony for an enjoyable stay cation.
