Stackyard Reviews

Christopher
Everything spot on
Amazing place, you wont be disappointed. Friendly owner, wine chocolate eggs and milk on arrival. Amazing views. Highly recommend
Andrew
Stackyard is a very pleasant place to stay of a week. It has been built to a high standard and feels high quality. Rooms are all good sized and wellequipped. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and welcome gifts were a nice touch. We would certainly recommend it. Owners left us to ourselves but were on hand to help when required. Only two tiny things we can think of to improve it Advise guests they need to bring adapters for shavers and electric toothbrushes Provide a little more information on local amenities and events.
We had a lovely family holiday at The Stackyard with our two daughters their partners and two little dogs. The property is huge so everyone had their own space. It is spotless and the owners have thought of everything. We met the owners and they were lovely friendly people. The garden space is amazing our two dogs loved playing in it and it was perfectly safe for them. Loved meeting the cute little alpacas and hens in the field opposite. So peaceful it really is the perfect place to unwind and destress. Could not fault this place at all 10 out of 10 from us. Would definitely recommend this property we didnt want to leave will definitely visit again.
Fabulous barn superb hosts spectacular views this is our 7th visit and would ... Fabulous barn superb hosts spectacular views this is our 7th visit and would highly recommend it the barn is faultless in a stunning location looking forward to going back in August
Our 2nd visit to these lovely properties. Previously went the adjoining one which wasnt available this time. We werent disappointed as it was just as good. Beautiful property set in farmland in a nice little village with a couple of welcoming pubs. Owner was very friendly and helpful and we hope to return.
I would give this property 10 out of 10. I've stayed in quite a few of these type of lodges, and must say this is best I've stayed in. Everything was thought of. We usually leave mid week when we book somewhere, but maid use of it till the last day. If I had to describe it in 3 words, beautiful, practical, and cozy.
The property is one of the best we have stayed in, unfortunately the hot tub went off but was very quickly actioned by the owner. The beds are very comfy, the sofa is comfortable enough for sitting for a short time and very modern but not great for lounging. Having the Larmas in the garden outside the property was a massive bonus they were so lovely. The lodge had everything you need for an amazing stay. Wouldnt have any doubt in booking this again. Thanks so much
A fantastic property. . very well equipped, ideally situated geographically for visiting numerous places. Property owners were very helpful. We loved the views from the property and the Alpacas, horses, chickens in the fields opposite. Hottub and fire pit were amazing especially at night whilst enjoying a glass of wine. Fully recommend a stay at Stackyard.

Brilliant.
Exceptional cottage both in terms of location, decor, comfort and hospitality. Ideally located within 10 min drive to Durham yet within the peace and tranquility of the area. Wonderful close proximity walks, dog friendly, fantastic space inside and out.

Stayed at the Stackyard at Witton Hall Farm. Unbelievable! The most amazing place we have stayed so far. The lodge is beautifully laid out and decorated with gorgeous views of the countryside. Arrived to a welcome pack of prosecco, chocolates, milk and fresh farm eggs which was a lovely touch and the eggs were beautiful! The lodge is really well equipped with everything you could possibly need in particular the kitchen area including BBQ utensils. The owner Chris and the rest of the team at site are fantastic and have been on hand any time we needed them. We had a minor issue with the hot tub not working correctly and within 15 minutes of notifying the owners, they were there to fix it. This is a suberb holiday rental with high quality living and sleeping areas, Beds very comfortable, great kitchendining area and all very high spec with quality amenities. There were 5 of us staying and all felt the space was brilliant with plenty of different areas to sit and not be on top of each other. Loved seeing the Alpacas and horses every day and feeding them apples and carrots. Outdoor space is spectacular to take in the beautiful views with a corner unit lounge by the outdoor BBQ and a seperate table and chairs with a built in fire pit. Plus the hot tub is fantastic with outdoor lighting and fairy lights over the tub. Amazing location, highly recommend. Plus the ownersmanagers really go ouy of their way to make you feel welcome. Amazing holiday had by all, thank you. We will book again specifically for here and highly recommend!x
The stackyard is an amazing property. It is spacious and beautifully designed, with thoughtful extras provided and stunning views. We enjoyed the local walks and the relaxing setting. Would highly recommend
We stayed in the Stackyard, it was perfect just like the photos. Every room was tastefully decorated to a high standard with beautiful light fittings. The kitchen and sitting room were excellent, classy and everything you would want . Great scenery, added bonus the Alpacas, horses and chickens.
Andrew
The stackyard was a perfect base to explore Durham and the surrounding area! The accommodation was clean and very well equipped. We arrived with snow and the underfloor heating made the stay very comfortable. The hot tub was such a bonus after a day of walking, we will definitely return soon. Thank you!
What an amazing property The StackYard is. Me, my family and our Labrador spent a week here which was so enjoyable. Fantastic views over the countryside and the alpacas!safe to say we fell in love with the place very quickly. It really does have the WOW factor. The owners supplied all of the essentials soap, washingdishwasher tablets, condiments and we also got a bottle of bubbly, chocolates and fresh eggs which was a lovely welcome for us. This is going to be a regular holiday spot for usalready booked to come back to another property on the same site it was that amazing!
William
Wonderful property beautifully decorated and furnished, with everything you could need for a fantastic home from home stay. Thoughtful welcome and great support from owners.
Very wellequipped, clean, and luxurious lodge. Alpacas, chickens, and horses onsite making it much more enjoyable for all ages. Welcome pack on arrival with lots of extras that I didnt expect, but was very great full for, such as washing up liquid, bin bags, fresh eggs from the farm, and toilet rolls. We will be booking again.
Christine
Wonderful place to stay accommodation is excellent and very well appointed with many thoughtful touches and much appreciated welcome gifts. The view is spectacular and there is plenty of choice of walks. Also friendly alpacas in the nearby field!
We had a lovely stay at the Stackyard. It is really well equipped and location was fantastic. It was lovely to see the alpacas each morning coming to say hello and enjoy an apple. Beds were really comfortable and the hot tub amazing. A fantastic stay was had by all.
Absolutely beautiful. Immaculate property which felt very luxurious. Lovely touches with the gifts of chocolates, prosecco fresh eggs from their own chickens and milk. Wonderful views and nice walks from the property. Hot tub was very well used, and garden was very welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing the alpacas every morning and giving them some carrots for breakfast. A good area with an excellent bus service into Durham. Would highly recommend and will definitely return if we go back to that neck of the woods.

If we could give more stars we would, what a fantastic property! We had a wonderful stay for a week at The Stackyard, beautifully decorated with luxury features containing everything you could ever wish for in a holiday property and more! Lovely welcome gifts were also very much appreciated and the property is in a great location as there is so much to see in the area. Owners were on hand if needed, but we didn't as everything was working and property was so well stocked.
Louise
Beautiful house, everything you need is there. The local area is great for walks with the dog and kids down to the river and the local pub did beautiful food. We all had a lovely week and would definitely book again in the future.
Heather
House is fantastic, best holiday home we've stayed in ! Super comfortable, high quality fittingsappliances, beautiful surroundings. Boys loved having their own TV's in their rooms. The milkeggsfizz on arrival was very kind! Only very minor point, there was cloths but no cleaning sprayliquids provided, didn't mind buying one but just in case the owners prefer a particular brand on their lovely surfaces! Would love to return! Thank you
Stunning property in beautiful location with great amenities, location great for exploring Northumberland would definitely stay again and great hosts.
Amazing facilities, immaculately clean, wonderful views and friendly hosts. Liked it so much that I've booked to return to the sister property in October.
Charles
Lovely house and as described. We had a great stay.
Really great stay at the stack yard, we loved staying here and would definitely stay again . The Stackyard is very modern and the facilities are fab. We loved waking up and seeing the alpacas and animals in the fields in front of us each morning, really added to the experience .The owners are very friendly and accommodating, they even left us a gift when we arrived which was a lovely touch. The location of the property is good, only a few minutes drive to Durham and 30 min drive to the beach. We had our dog with us for this holiday and the walks from the house are great. The local pub is also dog friendly and serves good food. The only negative which isnt really a negative , is we found the bedding to be itchy , but that could be our personal preference.

Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 20 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
