Came away for a long weekend to celebrate a friends 40th. Loved the property, cosy, log fire, hot tub. Hosts were very welcoming and shared things to do and see in the area. Lovely little touches such as toiletries, milk, and baked goods! Would definitely recommend.
The perfect place to unwind . We want to come back again soon
We tayed at the Barn in Frosterley for five nights and had a great 5 experience. The property is beautiful and spotless. The gardens, paddock and hot tub are the perfect place to relax and have breakfast or drinks. The owners Debbie and Nigel are on call when you need them and so friendly. Without doubt 1010. Looking forward to going back soon. Eric

Nigel & Debbie were lovely hosts and nothing was too much bother. The property is lovely and well kitted out, we even got cake and flowers when we arrived! Hot tub was serviced each morning and the BBQ came in handy on a nice evening. Would highly recommend the property and the hosts
We loved this cottage . It was clean , well equipped and Nigel the owner checked in on us to ensure we had everything we needed . The garden was perfect for our dog as it was fully enclosed so she could run about safely . There was also a paddock which was also enclosed for her to get a good run about . Loved the got tub and the garden was nice and private. Location was great for Durham , Beamish and the Dale's.
The Barn was a delight to stay at. The whole building was at high spec. The beds were very comfortable and the hot tub always at a good temperature allowing us to stay out even when the air was chilly. Local facilities are consistent with a village but, Bishop Auckland has everything you need in terms of groceries. Nigel and Debbie were helpful without being intrusive. Strongly recommend.
We stayed at The Barn with my older parents and children age 3 and 6. It was perfect. Wonderful hosts, really friendly, personable and accommodating. Nice quiet area, yet plenty around to do and central to lots of lovely places. The barn itself is stylish and relaxing, the layout is great. We enjoyed the hot tub and used the bbq when the sun came out. There is a play park right across the road too. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We hope to return sometime soon.
Beautifully finished, with excellent attention to detail. Every need covered. Perfect location for activities for the children wolsingham park and Stanhope stepping stones within a few minutes. Immaculately clean and well furnished. Definitely a 5 rating from us!

A beautifully maintained property in a stunning location. We were greeted warmly and made to feel extremely welcome. The property is very well equipped to a high specification and the outside space is superb, lots of space and of course the hotub was an added bonus. Attention to detail is paramount to the owners and provided everything required for a comfortable stay plus lots of little extras. We thoroughly enjoyed our short break and will certainly return.
The Barn is a fantastic property in a beautiful location. There are some wonderful walks nearby and a great way to end the day is to have a dip in the hot tub and then relax with a glass of wine up on the hill in the paddock. Debbie and Nigel are a lovely, friendly couple and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.
Michelle
Beautiful cottage and the facilities there were amazing . Could be signposted a little better from both directions but thats the only criticism. The cottage is clean and beautifully decorated . Thank you

We enjoyed our week at the Barn, a very homely and comfortable place, very clean with a relaxing feel about it. The hot tub was lovely and relaxing, there was also lots of space for our grandchildren to explorer. The hosts, Debbie and Nick were great. The location is also well situated for places to visit in Weardale Durham. We will definitely be back .

We have just returned home from a long weekend at this beautiful, immaculate lodge. Debbie & Nigel went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, especially with the lovely flowers & freshly baked muffins on our arrival. We couldnt fault one thing. The hot tub was ready for our arrival and despite the miserable weather, it didnt spoil our weekend. Would 100 recommend. Thank you so much!

We had a wonderful stay in The Barn we had pushed the boat out and paid that bit extra for luxury accommodation for just the two of us, including a hot tub and The Barn lived up to and exceeded all of our expectations. Extremely well furnished, very comfortable and peaceful, and extremely clean, what more could we ask!

Lovely place, comfortable, clean and well equipped. Just as described. Location great for looking round local area. Debbie and Nigel on site if needed. Would definitely use again.
Idyllic location. Very comfortable and beautifully appointed. Very impressive
The property was well presented, very clean and comfortable. We were a multi generational party and all enjoyed our stay even with the torrential rain. We hope to be back.
We had such a lovely time and the little gestures with the muffins and welcome chalk board were great. Absolutely stunning property.
Nicola
Barn was exactly as described, brilliantly equipped and exceptionally clean. We had a perfect week. Hope to return soon!
Fabulous weekend at The Barn. The accommodation is wonderfully appointed, comfortable and well equipped. Debbie and Nigel are very welcoming and helpful. Beautiful house with enclosed garden for the dog. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Wonderful property
We have had a wonderful 2 week stay at The Barn with our inlaws staying in adjoining Coach House. The House is great, beautifully decorated with everything you need and some lovely little extras like nice soaps etc. Debbie and Nigel are so lovely, showed us round and explained how everything worked, they have been on hand for anything we might need. The paddock at the back is great for the dog, she loved chasing her ball (and rabbits & pheasants!) the view from the top is really lovely. The hot tub is great for relaxing after a long day exploring the area. We enjoyed a few long dog walks along part of the Weardale Way which can access from the village. Enjoyed a drink and pizza in the local pub. Chip shop on Frosterly and Stanhope are good and the Indian in Stanhope is great too. Woolsingham just a few mins drive has a lovely Italian that we went to one evening, also has a local park with ice cream van which kids enjoyed. There are two lovely bakery?s one in Stanhope and one in Woolsingham for some nice lunch treats and also lovely fruit/veg/florist in Stanhope. We went swimming at Woolsingham pool and also larger pool with flume and waves in Spennymoor. Enjoyed a day out to Hall Hill Farm Park and Homeside Park. The in laws enjoyed Bowes museum and Barnard Castle. Bishop Aukland (30 mins) has a good retail park and large supermarkets. We have had a great 2 weeks here and would highly recommend to anyone

We had a great week at the barn, our two children and dog loved the outside spaces to run around and have fun. We all enjoyed a soak in the hot tub each afternoon when we returned from our adventures to nearby attractions. The cottage was really spacious, clean and well stocked with lovely flowers and cakes to greet us on our arrival. Debbie and Nigel were great friendly hosts available when needed and ensured we had all we needed and made sure the hot tub was checked each day so it was always clean and well maintained. The children are already asking when we can return, would highly recommend thanks for a great holiday.

Fantastic accommodation. Well stocked, great grounds, extremely lovely owners, and a cake on arrival. Would definitely go back.
Lovely Stay
We had a lovely week's stay at the Barn in Frosterly in April 2023, and the local Teeside area was lovely too. The property is in a great location, we loved the hot tub and the garden, and field at the back as our dog could run around and the owners were so friendly and helpful. I also highly recommend Roots of India takeaway which is in Stanhope a 5 minute car journey away, great food and not expensive.
Sophie
A beautiful and immaculate cottage with friendly and helpful owners. There was plenty of room for 6 people and a dog! and everything was very comfortable. Would thoroughly recommend.

We enjoyed a stay in the Barn for 1 week midJune. Its a beautiful property in a beautiful part of the country. Nigel & Debbie were there to greet us with freshly baked scones when we arrived & stepping in to the Barn we were delighted with our choice of accommodation.theyve thought of everything & Barn is finished to a very high standard. Our dog especially enjoyed exploring the paddock which was fully fenced and safe. We enjoyed breakfast in the garden & hot tub in the evenings to the sounds of the local wildlife. Explored the local area during our stay & North PenninesDurhamNorthumberland truly is a hidden gem.plenty of dog walks on doorstep but we enjoyed venturing a bit further afield. 7days of 20 deg sunshine was the icing on the cake!

We spent a very relaxing week at the Barn in Frosterley and really enjoyed the local area. The accommodation was extremely clean, warm, well equipped and both Debbie and Nigel were very welcoming and helpful. I would highly recommend this property, especially the hot tub and the outdoor space which our dog loved running around in.
Gillian
A beautiful, comfortable, very well equipped cottage in a pretty village with a shop and pub. We loved the hot tub! The garden was perfect for our dog and there are lovely walks from the front door. Hamsterley Forest, High Force, Raby Castle and Barnard Castle are all within a short drive and worth a visit. Debbie and Nigel are great hosts.
A lovely looking property with all amenities youll need. Very homely and great for a couples holiday with baby in tow for us! the hot tub was a fantastic edition and we had great stargazing opportunities from the tub! The only slight negative is that if you are staying in the downstairs bedrooms, you can hear what is going on upstairs as if you are in the same room. The first floor seems like it may be a mezzanine and so the soundproofing isnt great. The master suite was well sound proofed though and our friends had no trouble there.
Amazing secure gardens with lovely views. Great for our dog. Very comfortable and well appointed cottage. Really enjoyed our stay.
Kimberly
Back home from an amazing stay at The Barn! Ideal location and walking distance to a shop, we really liked No10 cafe and the bakery along the road and had some lovely walks around Hamsterley forest, which is a short drive away. The outside space is wonderful, we would take our morning coffee up to the seats in the paddock every morning and look at those lovely views and enjoyed the hot tub on a night time. The Barn itself has been exceptionally renovated and was so clean and comfortable. The kitchen was lovely to cook in and chill out with the family with it being open plan and all the small little touches like toiletries, hotel slippers, cakes on arrival etc made all the difference. We will be back Summer 2023
Francesca
The house had everything you needed and more! The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. The garden area and hot tub were fantastic. We would definitely return!
Carina
We enjoyed the most relaxing and comfortable Christmas in The Barn. The property was spotlessly clean and had everything we could possibly need to make a full Christmas dinner as well as being beautifully decorated. The hot tub was a real treat and we were able to stargaze on clear nights. Debbie and Nigel were most accomodating and even left some delicious Christmas treats for us to enjoy on our arrival. The Barn is located in a truly stunning part of the country and we wouldn't hesitate in recommending this 5 star property.
We booked at short notice, Debbie and Nigel were very helpful and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay, the accommodation was lovely such a great find. We will definitely be booking again.
