April Cottage Reviews

The five of us loved April Cottage for our girly getaway. It was spacious, clean and homely. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The hot tub was great worked perfectly and was very close to the door into the house. We parked both cars in the nearby pub car park I wouldn't recommend leaving one on the main road particularly if it is foggy like it was during our stay. The location is brilliant easy to get to Scarborough and Filey.

April Cottage is a lovely cosy cottage and has all you could wish for and the hot tub was a great way to end your days. The host met us and showed us around when we first arrived which was lovely. I would definitely stay here again
The cottage was absolutely beautiful and the owner visited us the first evening to explain the hot tub. We had a lovely stay and the cottage provided everything we needed even left Halloween sweets for our grandchildren which was much appreciated. The cottage location is ideal for visiting seaside resorts and the pub over the road is a great place to eat. Although the weather was very wet during our stay. We had a marvellous time and all three grandchild want to return.
Could do with a blind in the bathroom! And maybe a manual with things like the wifi code and hot tub instructions, check out instructions etc. Other than that, we loved it!! Really clean and spacious and loved the hot tub!
Lovely cottage and everything we expected. It was clean and well maintained. Good touches such as washing machines tablets, towels for hot tub etc. Great pub across the road which does amazing food. Just a couple of little pointers for the future, a welcome booklet including further information I.e WIFi password, taxi numbers, recommendations for places to eat and to visit etc. would be helpful.

We had an excellent stay at April Cottage. It was very clean and had everything we needed throughout. The kitchen was really well equipped with plenty of cupboard space, the bedrooms had more than enough wardrobes and drawers for clothes with plenty of coat hangers. The hot tub and garden were private and well kept. The owner was very friendly and informative about the local amenities. It's ideally placed for exploring the area and has a great pub for food on the doorstep. Perfect!

This property looks exactly like it does in the photo, its modern and well maintained. Its in a really good location for Scarborough and Filey. You have lots within easy reach. There is new carpet downstairs and the sofa looks new or freshly cleaned. It has everything we needed, fresh linen, towels and comfortable beds. The hot tub was a big hit! We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
Lovely, comfortable and cozy cottage. We had a very pleasant stay.
My wife and I stayed recently for a long weekend and we were not dissapointed. The Cottage is conveniently located on the main road to Filey with Scarborough and Whitby a short drive away. The Cottage itself was lovely and comfy and surprisingly spacious photo's dont do it justice very comfy beds and everything we needed for a lovely weekend, The hot tub was an added bonus and was a great way to unwind after a busy day exploring. The pub over the road is very reasonably priced and the food was lovely and very large portion's. We loved our stay and will definitely return when we can. Would recommend to anyone. Wes and Emily Manchester
Amazing property, clean, tidy and Spacious Communications was great. Would Definitely go back
A fantastic cottage in an incredibly well located quiet village placing Bridlington, Flamborogh, Scarborough and Whitby within easy reach. Very cosy and modern with traditional touches. And coming back to a hot tub after a long day is a lovely treat.
The cottage was very clean and spacious the owner was there to meet us and was very helpful and friendly and the hot tub was great we took my daughter and two grandchildren They loved it we will definitely recommend. It to our friends and family
We had an absolutely fabulous stay and brilliant week. The cottage is in an excellent location, really close to Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington. It's perfect for families. April Cottage itself is clean, tidy and had everything we needed. We were greeted by the owner on arrival with a welcome hamper of teas and coffees and were given their direct number should we need anything. Prior to arrival we had read some slightly damning reviews but were pleased to find these were all incorrect. The living room carpet and sofa are in excellent condition. The bonus of the hot tub and rear garden was the highlight of our stay and our daughter loved both. There is a wonderful pub across the road which serves amazing food and does take out. We would recommend April Cottage and will definitely be staying again.

Firstly we had a great holiday as the weather was fantastic. The cottage however was a little disappointing and not up to the usual standards we would expect for a holiday let. The main issue was the wet dog smell in the main living area coming from the sofa. For a pet free cottage this was not what we would expect and we had to keep the windows open to stop the smell from building up. We spoke to the owners mid week and they informed us that they were replacing the carpet and sofa in that room as soon as we had left, this didn't help us but will hopefully resolve the issue for the future guests. The property could do with some finishing touches, repainting for example, this seems to have been done here and there but not full walls and some walls were quite dirty or marked. The main living areas were clean but there were very dusty places all over, corners of the living room, under the wall mounted heaters etc. The hot tub was one of the main reasons we booked the property and this got progressively cloudy as our holiday progressed. The information left in the property said that the owners would check this every day but this wasn't happening. We arrived on Friday and someone came very early Monday morning but didn't do anything. We called Sykes to complain on the Wednesday and following a conversation with the owner they came around whilst we were out and did something with the hot tub as it was much better on our return. The property is also right on a busy main road so there is a considerable amount of road noise, especially in the living room and the front bedroom. There was no information left in the property about waste collection or recycling so we just left bags tied up in the side alley.
The cottage has a awful smell which can only be described as wet dog the plug ins did not disguise this ,the sofa needs a deep clean . A few finishing touches would be helpful no slip mat in bath or blind at the window a drainer maybe in the kitchen for dishes. Lounge blinds broken cord and no child safety fasteners .Back bedroom blind only closes not tilts . When we turned on the hot tub it had a brown rim around looking like false tan off someone before us which we cleaned before use.
On arrival at the cottage we opened the door to a smell of pet odour we went to ... On arrival at the cottage we opened the door to a smell of pet odour we went to shop for air fresheners but this did little think the sette needs deep clean we had a issue with no hot water which was sorted with the owners several of the window blinds need attention and the bathroom window was not locked properly but no key to open or shut which allowed road noise to enter house the back inner door looked like a dog had chewed it the cottage is in a lovely village with pub over road that we used brilliant food and we parked car there we used the hot tub which was a bonus if few items mentioned were addressed it could be a lovely cottage
