Over the years, we've stayed in all sorts of holiday spots-cottages, lodges, apartments-you name it. Most are okay, a few pretty decent, but hardly any stand out. This place, though, is a real gem-absolutely flawless. We visited for the first time in April and couldn’t wait to return, which we did last week. It feels just like a cosy home away from homeand you get that sense of escaping civilisation, even though the charming village is only ten minutes away. The host’s warmth and help really made it special. Love it!

We had a brilliant time at Duchal Lodge! The lodge is really well appointed, with super comfy beds and a fantastic enclosed outdoor space for our dog to roam around safely. The welcome basket was the best we've ever had, packed with loads of home baking samples and even some Prosecco! What makes this place special is that it’s surrounded by fields and a few cows; it’s so peaceful and relaxing. Plus, it’s only 5 minutes to the nearest town for supplies and restaurants.
Emily
From the moment we arrived, we were met with such a friendly welcome from Margaret and James. The beautiful location and the high quality of the accommodation and facilities really set the toneand then we discovered the welcome hamper, which included a selection of Margaret's delicious home baking! We immediately felt like we had entered a world of relaxation. In our 20+ years of UK self-catering with dogs, this is the most luxurious, spaciousand secure holiday accommodation our pups have stayed in. We've already booked for next year, it's that perfect.
