This lodge was absolutely perfect for me and my dog. A beautiful large well maintained enclosed garden for him to play in. It had everything you could possibly need in self catering accommodation. The enclosed hot tub and sunset views were spectacular. And the home baking - well, just the icing on the cake really. Id definitely recommend this place and the owners couldnt have been more welcoming / friendly. 5 stars from me and the pup! :-) Well definitely be back!

James and Margaret were the best holiday hosts - so friendly and helpful. Loved Margaret's home baking and James going out of his way to give us close views of newly born calves and lambs. The location is so peaceful - lovely walks from the lodge and local villages a short car ride away. The lodge is immaculate, spacious and with all the facilities - en suite, main bathroom, TVs in bedrooms and of course the hot tub! we felt excellent value for money . Highly recommended - we will return!

We recently chose Duchal Lodge to celebrate my husbands birthday and it did not disappoint! The location was great, very secluded yet accessible to local villages and only 30 mins to Glasgow. The Lodge itself was beautiful. It was clean, spacious and very well equipped. The hot tub being under cover is a great idea. A few welcoming home bakes were enjoyed by everyone. The highlight for me was nothing being too much trouble for Margret, she helped to make our weekend very special. X

Our stay at the Duchal Lodge was perfect. The lodge is extremely well appointed, very comfortable beds and excellent enclosed outdoor space for our dog to explore safely. The owners left the most complete welcome basket we have ever received, from multiple home baking samples to Prosecco and more! The USP of the lodge is it stands alone with nothin g but fields and some cattle to share it with. Its very peaceful and relaxing yet only 5 mins from the nearby town for supplies or restaurants.
Laura

Fantastic house in fantastic location. You have magnificent views on all sides. Margaret and James are lovely hosts, her home baking was delicious. In our 20+ years uk self catering with dogs th is is the most luxurious, spacious & secure holiday accommodation our pups have stayed in. We have already booked for next year, its that perfect.
Joanna
We had a lovely stay. Margaret and James were most welcoming and were always close by if anything was needed. It's a beautiful lodge, very accessible and comfortable inside with plenty of outside space - there was nothing more that we could possibly have wanted. The lodge is one on its own, situated on a farm, so we had the added pleasure of lookin g directly out on to Highland cattle and sheep. On the one hand, quiet and secluded but also very close to Glasgow. Perfect!
Amy
Lovely lodge and excellent location. We went with our kids and found there was so much to do if you wanted to (and are willing to drive) but equally a great space to chill at the lodge in the hot tub when you wanted. Hosts made us feel extremely welcome and well looked after. Very clean and well maintained, with everything you need for a very comfo rtable stay. Little dog loved the walks and roaming round the secure garden. Highly recommend. Well be back.
Hopkins
Lovely place, it's only 20 minutes from my home but feels like holidaying in the middle of nowhere. The covered over hot tub is a dream as can be use in all weathers. The owners are lovely and the treats they supply (especially Margaret's home baking) go above and beyond. Would 100% recommend to everyone
