Balmoral Lodge Reviews

Alex
Great spot, convenient, but cleanliness could be improved.
Oliver
We really loved the peaceful setting and stunning scenery, it’s ideal for a chill-out. The place was well equipped, making our mini break super easy. It was the perfect escape from busy lifeand we’ll always remember celebrating our 20th anniversary here. Just a heads up-be prepared for the walk from the car to the lodge, especially with heavy luggage on the uneven path. Definitely recommend!
Emma
The cottage was super cosy and felt just like home. We really enjoyed the hot tub after a day out. It's only a short drive into town, which was perfect. The peaceful surroundings and lovely views made it a great stay overall.
Alex
Loved the peaceful spot and the stunning views from both the window and the hot tub. Nice mix of seclusion and easy access to Exeter. Definitely returning!
Emma
The place is fantastic, loved the hot tub views-definitely coming back soon!
James
Nice spot, good views
Sam
We really enjoyed our stay at this cosy cottage. The hot tub was a lovely touch after long walksand the view was absolutely stunning, a real escape from city life. The bed and sofa could be a bit comfier, but we slept well anyway. There’s not much nearby in terms of activities, but plenty of scenic walks made up for it. No oven or freezer, so bringing an air fryer was a smart move. Would stay again!
Emma Carter
The breathtaking views of Exe Valley really helped us unwind and forget all our stresses quickly.
Jamie
We found this cosy little cabin tucked away in a lovely spot, although getting there was a bit tricky at first. Once we arrived, it was charming and quiet, perfect for a peaceful break. The hot tub, however, wasn’t the cleanest - there was a black mark along the back, even after cleaning. The sofa wasn’t very comfy either; cushions kept sliding offand it felt a tad small for two of us. There was also a small leak in the toilet basin and the bed wasn’t the softest. Still, overall, a nice getaway!
Rachel
We had a lovely Christmas stay and definitely plan to come back when we need some peace and quiet. A tip for future visitors is to bring your own towels if you're staying longer than a few days-there's no drying rack provided. Also, packing a slow cooker or air fryer can be handy depending on what you fancy eating. If you’re picky about pillows, it’s worth bringing your own, along with a cosy blanket for those relaxing evenings. Overall, a great spot for a chilled break!
Emma
Really enjoyed our stay! The accommodation was cosy and had everything we needed. The views were breathtaking and the hot tub was perfect after a chilly day. Diane was super helpful too. Definitely coming back soon!
Jamie
This place was honestly lovely, with stunning views and a perfect spot to relax after a day out. The bed was super comfyand the hot tub was such a treat in the evenings. The place was spotlessand we loved seeing squirrels and deer right outside. Only tiny thing was the two-seater sofa wasn’t the most comfy, but we barely sat there since we were out most of the day. Overall, it was a great stayand we’d definitely come back. Thanks a lot!
Emma
Good spot to hang clothes and dry towels or swimwear after enjoying the hot tub. Cheers!
Emma
Honestly, this place was fantastic. The cosy atmosphere and stunning views really made our stay special. The hot tub was the highlight-so relaxing with that gorgeous scenery. We’ve never felt so peaceful. Definitely a spot we’ll return to. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a proper chill-out break!

We absolutely loved our stay! The Lodge had stunning viewsand the hot tub was such a treat. Kevin was really friendlyand Diana was always there if we needed anything. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely land with us!
James
The cabin was really charming with breathtaking scenery. We loved the tranquil vibe, perfect for a relaxed or romantic escape. The hot tub was a highlight, definitely spent a lot of evenings unwinding there. Be prepared for a steep, stony walk to reach it though!
James
We really enjoyed our stay, but a few things could be improved. A small dresser in the bedroom for clothes would have been handy. Also, there's a tiny gap under the kettle area, perfect for a clothes horse to dry towels or swimwear. The location is fantasticand we'd love to return someday. Thanks to Rebecca and Tom Davis for their hospitality!
Oliver
Beautiful scenery and a charming village, but we were a bit disappointed no oven.
Emma
We really enjoyed our time at Balmoral Lodge. The views of the countryside were absolutely breathtaking, especially the sunsets over the hills. It was lovely seeing wildlife come close to the lodge in the mornings and evenings. The hot tub was a highlight-perfect for early dips and relaxing at night. Having free WiFi and Netflix was a great bonus too. The only downsides were the lack of an oven-so we brought our air fryer-and the sofa was a bit uncomfortable, but overall, it was a lovely stay!
Emma
The hot tub was fantasticand the view really took our breath away. Close enough to the city for convenience too!
