Balmoral Lodge Reviews

Sam
Good location good place just not very clean.
Gary
Lovely location. Beautiful views. Perfect for a relaxing break. Kitted out and had everything needed for a mini break. We throughly enjoyed a break away from the hustle and bustle and made our 20th anniversary memorable. One thing to note is be aware of the distance between the car and lodge as you may struggle with heavy suitcases or bags down theRead more stoney path. Hide

Cottage was really lovely and homey, we felt quite comfortable and loved the hot tub! It was only a 10-15 minute drive to town so everything was quite close-by which was nice and convenient. Surroundings were very nice and quiet and a great view.
Sam
Fantastic stay. Great views out the window and from the hot tub. Secluded location but close enough to Exeter to pop in. Thanks, we will be back.
Maria

David
Great location and views.
Luke
Really nice little cottage, and the hot tub was nice as well. The bed and sofa aren't the comfiest, but we were tired enough to sleep just fine. Not a whole lot to do nearby, but luckily we found plenty of walks to do. The view is to die for, incredibly pretty and a great break from city life. No oven or freezer, but bring an air fryer and you won'Read moret notice! Hide

The most stunning views over the Exe Valley. We instantly relaxed and unwound from everyday life

Beautiful little cabin in a lovely location, very hidden upon arrival but once found was lovely. Only couple of things, the hot tub wasnt very clean, I understand they did come to clean it but there was a black mark along the back, which we did point out to maintenance man. Sofa wasnt great to sit and chill as the cushions kept sliding off, and a lRead moreittle bit on the small side for two adults. Little leak at the basin on the toilet, and bed wasnt the comfiest. Overall was a nice little break. Hide

I really enjoyed my stay over Christmas and will definitely want to return when in need of some quiet and relaxation. My only tips for other guests is to bring your own towels if you're staying more than a few days and a drying rack as there isn't one provided. It's useful to bring a slow cooker and/or an air fryer depending on what you will be eatRead moreing whilst there. If you're fussy about pillows, bring yours from home and your favourite cosy blanket too for extra comfort in the evenings. Hide

Had such a lovely stay, will definitely be back! The place is so nice and warm and the views are amazing. Has everything you need and the hot tub was lush on a cold night! Diane was brilliant
Paul
This was a beautiful place to stay with great views and a good place to chill after being out. Bed was comfortable and hot tub is a nice touch after walking each day. Very clean surroundings and nice visits from the squirrels, and deer outside. If I was to put a very small negative comment is the two seater sofa was uncomfortable. It didnt matter tRead morehat much as we were out all day and only sat for a few hours in the evening. Worth a stay and we were happy with overall. Thanks from Paul & Sue. Hide

Owen

David
Lovely little cabin with stunning views. So quiet and peaceful. Great for a nice peaceful or romantic get away. Loved the hot tub. Spent most evening in there. Quite a tough walk to get to and from the car park, as its a stoney steep path.
Tom
There was 2 things that come to mind whilst staying, number 1- somewhere to store clothes in the bedroom like a small dresser. Number 2- there's a small gap underneath where the kettle is for a clothes horse that would definitely come in handy to air out towels and bathing costumes. It's an amazing location would love to come back again in the futu re. Thanks Rebecca and Tom Davis.
Jade
Overall a nice little get away despite the weather. The sofa is uncomfortable. Towels provided very small would be nice to have some larger ones. Best to bring your own. Very happy with how clean it was including the hot tub. No oven but good idea to bring an air fryer if wanting to make meals. Host very friendly and excellent communication.
Abigail
beautiful place, incredible location, if you need a quiet get away i really recommend!
Stephanie
Beautiful secluded location, with amazing views. The owners were helpful when we had an issue with the TV, and sorted it straight away. Only issue was the parking, as it was quite a way from the lodge, otherwise all perfect
Andrew
Stunning views and nice area and lovely cottage shame there is no oven
Fay
We had a lovely stay at Balmoral Lodge, the countryside views surrounding the accommodation was stunning, beautiful sunset views over the hills, we seen quite a few wildlife approach our lodge while sitting there some mornings & early evenings, hot tub was lovely made good use of early morning dips and evenings relaxing. Also FREE WiFi, FREE NETFLI X was a bonus. Only negatives were no oven, so we brought our own air fryer with us & we was able to make full meals that way. Sofa uncomfortable.
Jennifer
Amazing stay. Best hot tub stay Ive been to, such a great view and not far from the city centre.
Peter
My wife and I stayed in Balmoral Lodge from 22 Oct - 27 Oct. The lodge is gorgeous and everything in it is in keeping with the environment you are in, decor wise. It was spotlessly clean, tidy and very well designed and in a lovely location. Close enough to all amenities and attractions but far enough away to be isolated at the retreat that the lod ge is. We literally couldnt fault it unless a 150 metre walk to the car park, from the lodge bothers you. We cant wait to return soon.
Jamie
This lodge is just the perfect little getaway. We stayed for 2 nights, and had the most relaxing, peaceful time. The owners were available and easily contacted when we needed to check something. Clean, tidy, and just beautiful. We will definitely be returning.
Nicola
We had a week here, what a beautiful setting. View beautiful, horses in the field, deer, a fox, and lots of birds. Accommodation very good, with cooking facilities(no freezer)Jacuzzi very nice, good size. Roofed terrace for rainy days. Good location for exploring Devon and Dartmoor . Would say it may be difficult if disabled as parking up a hill, b ut fine once in the building. Things I would take would be extra blankets, comfy seats for outside, grater and a bed knife . Would really recommend
