Thyme at South Worden in Holsworthy, Devon, offers a perfect retreat for couples. This charming annexe of a 17th-century thatched longhouse has been thoughtfully modernised to provide a comfortable and relaxing stay.

The cottage sleeps two people, making it an ideal romantic getaway.

The ground-floor lounge/diner is cosy with a beamed ceiling, a comfortable sofa and recliner, an electric stove, and a dining table. The bright galley kitchen is well-equipped, and the contemporary bathroom features both a bath and a shower.

When we arrived there was a cream tea waiting for us, also milk in the fridge, which we thought was such a nice gesture. There was everything you could possibly need, it was like home from home. A lovely place to stay! Quiet and relaxing. Dartmoor is lovely as is the Warren Inn. The sun was shining but the first was still lit. (It has been burning for over 160 years according to history). When we arrived, Rod was on hand to welcome us which was lovely. Getting in to the cottage was just what we need, beautiful with the treats ready and waiting - including the hot tub. River Dart Country Park - TQ13 7NP

River Dart Country Park has over 90 acres of woods offering stunning scenic walks, beautiful lakes and open parkland. The park also has a good range of facilities for children including Jungle Ropes, Climbing Frames, Cargo Nets and a wooden Pirate Ship. While visiting the hospital children can learn about these shy wild animals and the dangers they face in the wild as well as how we can help them. The farm is a halfway house for sick hedgehogs and children can meet some of the animals that are almost ready to go back to the wild. The farm also has a gift shop, a coffee shop and a wildlife garden as well as a pet's area with Rabbits and Guinea Pigs.
