Prixford Barn Reviews

Janice
We enjoyed our stay, love how rural it is and everything is on the one level however could be a little clearer and maintained to a higher level, the bed is very uncomfortable and could do with a new mattress .
diane
everything was excellent but there is a bit of a tight turn and steep access to the barn itself. You cannot access the enclosed garden from the cottage - its at the back of the property. there is no immediate dog walk from the door which wasnt a problem for us as we were out all day
Louise
A lovely little converted barn in a quiet location, perfect for relaxing in peace. Secure garden which was great for the dogs. Hot tub with a lovely view, although parts of the hot tub kept falling off, it seems to need some maintenance. The accommodation is basic but has everything you need. It does need some TLC, it looks very tierd and we found Read morethe mattress very uncomfortable, we left with achy backs due to the lack of support. More towels would be ideal too as we had 1 each for a week. Hide
James
A lovely quiet location with good access for croyde/woolacombe etc. Good WiFi, decent kitchen, comfy sofa. Couple of minor issues with the hot tub but nothing that spoilt the stay.
Emma
We had an amazing long weekend at the barn. Everything is clean and you have all the things that you require made available to you. The owner even came to say hello with a box of fresh eggs collected from their chickens that roam their garden. The hot tub is great, positioned so you can look at the amazing scenery whilst relaxing. Can't wait to go Read moreback. Thank you Liz and Eric, for sharing your property with us. Hide

A super little cottage with a fully appointed kitchen. The hot tub was fantastic and even better when we sat in it during the squally wind and rain! A tight steep driveway up to the cottage was difficult to negotiate with a car load. A note for dog owners - there are 3 farm dogs that live outside in the farmyard that lead to the cottage. Maybe OK iRead moref your dogs are friendly but our Jack Russells are not and we couldn't walk from the cottage and they come up and visit the cottage garden/drive too. Hide

Nice clean cottage in a really good location.
Shannon
We had a really nice stay here, a beautiful farm and a beautiful barn. The hot tub was fab and the place was well equipped and comfortable. You cant get your car outside of the barn so you have to park at the bottom and walk up which can be muddy in the rain. A few little things that could be improved is to add toilet roll holder and a little more Read moreattention to the cleaning but overall we had a really nice stay. Really cozy especially with the wood burner going. We were sad to be coming home! Hide

A lovely place to relax and enjoy the Devon country side . Perfect location for visiting the places we wanted to see .
James
Nice cottage l am fussy with cleanliness The lane was tight Glad we took the smaller car Hot was great addition All good
Patricia
The cottage was very clean and well equipped. My advice to the owners was to get some proper bath towels (only really small ones), and to cut the grass as we could both use the garden and the grass was really long). The cottage is ideally situated to get to the beaches and towns. Hot tub was amazing to relax in after a day out and about.
David
Very tight access to cottage for car and uneven uphill drive, no gate on drive so your dog could just walk down onto farm Lane, needs a comfier couch and mop and vac because if you have a dog a brush and dustpan and brush isn't enough to keep laminate floors clean, needs problem with beetles and woodlice and slugs sorting out.
Jayne
Absolutely brilliant stay can't wait to go back
Amy
The barn location is fantastic giving a good central base to exploring North Devon, would also recommend Marwood Dairy which has a milk vending machine in walking distance. The barn itself was ok, was clean and comfortable enough but needed a little TLC and the Wi-Fi is patchy which isnt the end world. The hot tub was great and good after a days wa lking, the garden was secure and meant we good relax knowing out Jack Russell was safe
DAVID
Recommended. Lovely, quiet location, a fab hot tub, comfy bed and fancy Velux windows. Two friendly horses greet you upon arrival if you are lucky enough to see them. However, beware the very tight entrance to the property!!
Sarah
Barn very comfortable & light. All equipment required to holiday there, available. Hot tub was clean & enjoyable. Area it is situated in, is very quiet and picturesque. Plenty to do within traveling distance.
Gavin
A brilliant cottage for exploring north Devon and Cornwall. Its set up really well for those of us with dogs with an enclosed garden and several walks from the cottage itself. The kitchen is well equipped and theres smart tv with sky so you can sort Netflix etc from your own accounts. Id heartily recommend the sofa for comfort too. Its lovely and w arm and the log burner helps too. If you have a lwb vehicle youre better parking at the front of the farm. Id go back tomorrow if I could
Janet
Functional rather than cosy. Great location.
Shaun
We had a great time at prixford cottage! The cottage it's self was very nice with everything we could need including a smart TV with sky which was great on evenings. Aswell as the hot tub and bbq in the spacious garden! It's location is perfect in North devon as its very central to almost everywhere In the area! We felt right at home there and didn 't want to leave, we will stay there again in the future!
Shireen
Had a very nice stay and enjoyed ourselves! Perfect location from all the beaches and local town. Nice and quiet, lovely animals on the farm. We really enjoyed ourselves.
Jayne
Wonderful place amenities excellent quiet clean would go again
Katie
We had a very relaxing time at Prixford Barn after a last minute booking after cancelling a trip to Spain. A good location to explore North Devon. Our 2 dogs were also welcome. We especially appreciated the owners (Eric) help with removing a tick from one of our dogs!! The hot tub was fab and was in an enclosed garden so the dogs were happy while w e relaxed in the tub!!
Jane
Lovely cottage, hot tub was amazing, felt very relaxed with the dogs and the secure garden was so good, found the location perfect for whatever we wanted to do, dog friendly beaches, lovely walking, would definitely come again and highly recommend
Jacky
Lovely comfortable barn, gorgeous views - especially from the hot tub - and very close to many dog friendly beaches, local attractions & amenities. Well equipped kitchen & bathroom. Garden better suited to a smaller dog. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Hannah
Enjoyed our stay, only little fault would be the drafts from bedroom window and one living room window, otherwise Spot on. Hot tub is lovely after a long days walk and the added bonus of not having to worry about our little Houdini in the enclosed garden.
Martin
Ideal size for me and two dogs. The interior was very smart and swish. Furniture, kitchen and bathroom very smart and modern. The wood flooring throughout ideal for dogs and no worries about getting a carpet muddy. The best facility for me was the small dog proof garden attached to the cottage. I could let the dogs out in the morning without fear o f them running off.
Diane
We had a lovely stay at Prixford barn, very quiet location and handy location for exploring North Devon. Just a few additions to the barn would be good, somewhere to hang coats and a mirror in the bedroom would be good. Definitely the foliage on the windows needs trimming back.
stephen
The cottage is in a good location with great views that are obscured by overgrown folage. The sofa is awful, so uncomfortable! There is nowhere to hang coats or jackets and only a small rail in the bedroom. The only mirror is in the bathroom, which makes hair drying ect difficult. The kitchen is ok as is the bathroom. The bed is comfortable. Hottub is ok. In short it's ok but a bit basic.
Steven
Well designed but needs a little love and care from the owner. We found everything we needed for our stay. Settee is a little uncomfortable and watching TV gives you neck ache. Very peaceful and well situated.
Graeme
A little disappointing as it has so much more potential to make it feel more welcoming, homely and comfortable (despite covid)! Location was really good for exploring the coast. At this price range we have been provided with essential items before, but for the next travellers dont expect much and bring your own supplies e.g. kitchen roll, kitchen f oil, toilet roll, hand soap, your own towels, dishwasher tablets, dog bowls and dog bed. And just ask to park your car outside the main farm house
John
Felt barn very basic for what we paid. Not very comfortable and apart from bathroom no other mirror available. No storage space for food. Very little hanging space for clothes. Garden furniture OK to sit on if you are a child also rusty. Surrounding bushes need cutting as block view from windows also overhanging tree near front door.
