About The Old Forge Uploders

In the picturesque village of Uploders, this semi detached, stone cottage blends seamlessly into its surroundings. Situated on a quiet village lane, you will be able to enjoy the tranquillity from the large, terraced garden whilst appreciating the far reaching views of the Dorset countryside.

There are footpaths to explore from the doorstep and the area is good for keen cyclists. There is a village pub within 100 metres, a shop within 2 miles and you are only 1.5 miles from the A35, which provides easy access to the rest of Dorset.

Go south for the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, west to find the popular seaside town of Lyme Regis (13 miles), and east for the unique Chesil Beach (18 miles) and the seaside town of Weymouth (21 miles). Stepping into the property, you will find yourself in a spacious and welcoming hallway.

Leading off from here, is the L shaped open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area where there is room for all the family to enjoy. The décor is an eclectic mix of traditional furniture and modern touches, creating a welcoming, homely feel.

The modest kitchen has everything you ll need to create a meal for everyone and there is plenty of seating around the dining table for those special, family meals. Moving around to the lounge area, it is split into two, providing a second area for people who want a quiet moment with a book or crossword, but don t want to miss out on the action.

The main lounge area has a wood burner for those cosy, cold evenings and a Smart TV. And for those hot, summer days, French doors lead out to the patio and garden.

There is also a separate WC downstairs adjacent to the utility room, which has a washing machine and a sink, with a stable door leading out to the garden. The first floor of the cottage is very spacious with four good sized bedrooms.

The cottage is amazing with everything possible provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of everything you need. There is a BBQ in the shed. The garden views are spectacular. The parking is easy and outside of the door. The cottage was absolutely spotless with clear information on just about everything. Bridport is 15 minutes away, shoppRead moreing is easy, the local pub does a brilliant meal and finally Emma, the owner is just brilliant and on call if needed, big thank you Hide

Like staying as a house-guest in a rather lovely - and well-loved - home. Very accurate description and photos. More solicitous care could not be hoped for, even down to a phone-call after check-in to confirm everything was going well. Absolutely gorgeous part of the country with so much to see and do within easy reach. Highly recommended.
Louise
Such a wonderful place to stay. A gorgeous house in a lovely area- we would highly recommend it.

A perfect holiday home in wonderful Dorset. The facility has everything you need, the garden is wonderful for cozy get-togethers and relaxation. The care by the owner was very good. We'd love to come back. Thank you very much again!
Trevor
A wonderful well furnished and equipped cottage with beautiful patio and terraced rear garden with hot tub. Prepared for our arrival to a very high standard. Well situated being 100 metres to a friendly pub which serves excellent food with Weymouth in close proximity to the east and the Jurassic coast of Charmouth & Lyme Regis not far to the west. We would definitely recommend and be happy to stay there again ourselves.

Dorset Teddy Bear Museum - DT1 1JU
about 11 Miles
This family orientated museum is dedicated to Teddy Bears both old and new Edward Bear and his family of people sized bears are one of the main attractions.  You can buy teddy bear gifts from the quaint shop including top notch brands.  The Steiff Teddy Bear and Merrythought bears are very popular.  Open 7 days a week all year round (except 25th and 26th December) this is a perfect all weather place to visit.
Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park - DT2 8PY
about 13 Miles
Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park is a magical place to visit with grand gardens and plenty of animals to meet.  From goats and ponies to alpacas and pot bellied pigs this attraction is excellent value for money.  You can feel free to explore the grounds too which are especially lovely on sunny days.  You will see majestic floral displays, stone terraces, a temple and even a lake.
Monkey World - BH20 6HH
about 21 Miles
Monkey World is not only a local attraction but the work they carry out is amazing.  Rescuing and rehabilitating monkeys and assisting governments around the world to stop the smuggling of primates are just some of the purposes of the centre. You get to see the primates themselves many of which have become famous from appearing on the TV show Monkey World - a documentary about this place. Open year round we think this is one of best attractions in Dorset and you even get the chance to adopt a monkey if you choose.
Bicton Park and Gardens - EX9 7BJ
about 27 Miles
This year round attraction has been described as Devon's most magnificent historic gardens.  Located in the Otter Valley area of East Devon you can enjoy a fun day out in a picturesque setting. Highlights include historic Palm house, containing some of the world’s most endangered species and Bicton Woodland Railway - which takes you on a 25 minute journey through the lovely grounds.  For children there is a miniature village with mini golf, nature trail and indoor play area.
