Maestyddyn Farm House Reviews

Andrew
Excellent property in beautiful location. Friendly helpful and welcoming owner. A brilliant base foe relaxing and exploring
Stuart
We had a great 3 night weekend stay to celebrate an 80th birthday, 14 guests and 1 dog. Eryl is a great host and lives close by in the farm. The house is as expected and ideal for our needs, with plenty of space for everyone. Some minor maintenance issues required attention, but nothing important. There is a nice walk possible from the house, about 7 miles long. Follow the bridleway to the village and then turn left up into the forrest, this circles back onto driveway to the house. We had a nice meal at the local pub, with free round of drinks on Eryl, thanks again Eryl for the kind welcome and round of drinks at the pub. Stuart & family.

We've just spent a fabulous weekend at Maestyddyn Farm House. It comfortably accommodated our party of 12 adults and 4 dogs, and provided the ideal setting for us to celebrate our gettogether enjoying the BBQ, hot tubs, and games room whilst also being able to take walks in the forest and the hillsides near by.
Lovely house and amenities. Games room, arcade and Hot tubs were a big hit with the children! Host Eryl was fantastic, checking in with us and answering any questions in a timely manner. We also had 2 lovely meals down at the community pub recommended by Eryl, with a great welcome from all involved! Thanks again
Michelle
This is a beautiful farmhouse that was perfect for our large group. Secluded so we wasnt worrying about disturbing anyone and was well equipped throughout the property, the owner was very friendly and has a pub approx 2 miles away which does a lovely Sunday lunch, The only critism is there are lots of bugs so for us town folk we are not used to that. It would benefit from some bug catchersrepellent in the outdoor patio and kitchen but otherwise this is perfect. We will definitely be returning and will pack citronella candles and big catchers next time to make our trip even better. Would definitely recommend this property.
Recently stayed in Eryl's fabulous farmhouse for my wife's surprise 60th. There was more than enough space for the whole family, plus a couple of friends. Bedrooms were comfy and spacious and the kitchen had everything that we needed for the week. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and very tasty. Outside, we made full use of both spa pools and the sauna. The games room was the venue for some fierce inter family rivalry. All in all, I would highly reccommend this cottage to any large group. Eryl is a lovely host, perfectly balancing being helpful and non intrusive. Thanks again for a wonderful stay
Lovely cottage which suited our family with ages ranging from 87 to 1.
Very beautiful location on working farm 16 of us stayed plenty of room bedrooms ... Very beautiful location on working farm 16 of us stayed plenty of room bedrooms a good size hottub used al the time outside area a plus kids played in the games room and on the video machine great addition beautiful views in field where you walk dog's owner very welcoming had a great stay
We had a wonderful time. There were 13 adults & 3 children & 2 dogs. We can recommend football golf at Dyffryn Clwyd Sports Centre, beautiful walks & the visitor centre at Llyn Brenig. The only negative comments but no problem, the beds were not set out as I requested, all doubles & only 3 singles. One family room was double sofa bed & cot not as advertised. We had 8 single young people. The step on way to ground toilet is lethal & should be taped. Hook needed for towel in ground floor toilet. Microwave didnt have instructions. As I mentioned earlier, we had a wonderful time. Diolch yn fawr iawn.
Massive house Very friendly owner Would book again
This was a great cottage for our party of 13 and 3 dogs. The place was huge and we all had plenty of space. Facilities were great, the hot tubs and sauna were a great addition, and everyone enjoyed the old style video games. The cottage was really clean and comfortable, and the enclosed dog field outside was perfect for the dogs. Eryl, the owner, was very helpful and we enjoyed our drinks at the local community pub. We would definitely return as it is a perfect space for a large group.
Wonderful cottage had everything we needed and more, the games room and hot tubs were well used! Really cozy with the underfloor heating. Lovely location quiet and peaceful, we can't wait to go back .
The owner was fantastic he came over when we arrived and had a little chat ... The owner was fantastic he came over when we arrived and had a little chat super friendly the cottage is huge we kept getting lost and going up the wrong set of stairs to the bedrooms, the underfloor heating was superb the games room was loved by everyone the hot tubs were a firm favourite for the majority of the group and the private frields were perfect for our furry friends, I am only 5ft 5 and my ground floor bed was so high but when I managed to climb on, I had the best night sleep there are beautiful cows directly facing the front door which the owner said he was allowed to go over and see them so lovely There is also a fantastic pub down the road The Glan Llyn which was great we were disappointed that we had brought sunday dinner ingredients with us because the roast dinners looked amazing We will be back to this cottage 100
A terrific base for our group of 50 odd year old couples. Staff ere really friendly and happy to offer local advice. The free round of drinks at the local community pub good food and shop there as well was almost as well received as the facilities inc 2 hot tubs and a high quality games roomarcade machine If there wasnt a million other places to visit in the uk, wed definitely be back! Thank yoy
Elaine
What an amazing property! Pictures dont do it justice. It was fantastic to be away from all the busy stress of life and enjoy some quality time with friends. The hot tubs and sauna were awesome, and definitely helped to make our trip. The dogs absolutely loved the field! Thanks Eryl for your hospitality during our stay. We also really recommend eating at the local pub The Glan Lyn Inn fantastic food and service, plus a great little community shop next door. Beautiful surroundings and peacewhat more could we want!
A very well equipped, clean cottage overall. Our family of 12 adults loved the space and facilities. The two hots tubs were ideal for a large party and very clean. Games room is a great addition and kept us busy for hours. The owner Mr Williams is very friendly and made sure we had settled in and all was well with our stay. I would definitely recommend and we are looking to return in the future.

We had a fabulous week at the farm house, this was an ideal house to bring our family, with so much room not to be on top of each other, plenty of games and things to do to suit everyone at the house, with tournaments all week on the original games machine. It is well equipped and very comfortable but also plenty to do in the area with walks from the house. The local community pub serves good food. We hope to be back to the house in the future. Big thanks to our host, Errol who caught up with us through the week to ensure everything was OK.
Wonderful holiday home. Had 13 members of family, from 83 to 4 years old. Loads of space and equipment for all. Helpful owner and welcome pack. Bit remote on working farm, but positives outway downside. Only one issue, had to empty 1 jacuzzi due to scum. Filters were V old and full of goo. Wish we had done 2nd, might be filled with clean water, but needs to be scrubbed and filters changed.
We had a great time at the farmhouse, we were a group of 12 aged from 81 down to 3. We found it very comfortable and lots of space for us all. The facilities were well thought out and of high standard, one of the better holiday homes we have stayed at. Would recommend it highly.
This place is amazing 17 of us went for my 70th birthday aged 15 to 70! Had a couple small issues that were soon solved by the owner..it was spotless when we arrived and equipped with everything u could possibly need. The games room was well used as were the hot tubs..we had mixed weather so the outside area was a godsend..when we wernt off exploring we were outside bbqing or playing games or hot tubbing..would definitely recommend...just 1 small thing it says there is outside parking for 5 cars but we took 7 and there was plenty of room for more!!!!
The home owner was a very friendly and helpful person. He left a welcome hamper in the fridge full of Welsh goodies, the best one weve ever had. We took a paddling pool for our younger members which we first filled with hot water from the outside tap and then cold water from the tap next to it, never had that before either. Brilliant facility. The games room was well used. The arcade table was also brilliant. The bbq was a total hit so much so our son wanted to buy it! The children were fascinated by the farm machinery and the farm work going on around us another added bonus. What stops it being a 5 star is the one hot tub which we used, near the sauna, had not been cleaned before our arrival as stated in the listing. Some of the showers were cobwebbed and mouldy. I know Mr Williams would expect his cleaning team to ensure this work is done. One of the drinks fridges was not working, which for a large party of 17 was a bit of an inconvenience. The men discovered it was a loose connection but obviously a qualified electrician needs to sort that. The outside door nearest the kitchen was not easy to lock so maybe notes about its quirk of the key being in the right position might be useful. We class these as minor adjustments to be addressed and they wouldnt stop us booking the farm again. We relaxed, we visited places and we enjoyed the time and space that the farmhouse gave us as a family. Thank you, Mr Williams.
et Dorothy
This is a great place to stay the house is comfortable and the outdoor covered area with the hot tubs and the two acre dog field made this a very enjoyable visit. The owner could not be more helpful and immediately resolved any issues.
On the whole we had a fabulous time with lots of laughs. However i would say it needs a little TLC throughout the house and a better description on where the games room is situated.
Elaine
We felt really comfortable and at home. It suited all of us all ages, all interests, all needs. Mr W couldnt have been more welcoming or helpful. Providing sledges for the children all over 25! was a stroke of genius and much appreciated for an unforgettable birthday celebration. We hope to be back.
Christine
Such an amazing , peaceful and tranquil place . Everything you may need is there . Nothing is to much bother for the owner , such a lovely man . Would definitely go again
Colleen
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to booking again in the future
Alison
Fantastic house and facilities. Beds are super comfy and the living rooms. We had a great time and the house is great for a large family to enjoy. Very remote so quiet . The attached field for the dogs was great for the dogs and kids to play. Kids loved seeing the animals on the farm, have already asked if we can go back. Only negatives.. The kitchen had dirty pots been out back in cupboard but were soon washed. and 1 of the ovens didn't work but we didn't cook much in the home. This didn't put us off at all. Been a great weekend Thank you
Very comfortable beds and pillows. We had a great time and loved the games room, hot tubs and sauna amazing. The owner was very friendly and helpful
Nice venue for a large family gathering, suitable for all ages. Owner very helpful. Nice welcome basket of local goodies provided. Some areas need a bit of TLC, but understandable after pandemic. We had a great week. Thankyou!!

I loved it,,,,, good time in the middle of a farm,,,, relaxed,,,, no stress from the busy world. .... Very good place. Calm and quite,,, off road driving experience.... Good farm house experience
I would give our experience at the cottage 10 out of 10 . The facilities were excellent and met all our needs . There were 17 of us and there was plenty of space to not feel on top of each other. We took advantage of the in house catering that was available, and have to say the quality of the food was excellent and I would highly recommend it.
Karley
The property is huge much bigger than we were expecting from the photos. Set in a beautiful location with lots of exploring to be had. The farmer was so friendly and even arranged to take us and the children in to see his lambs. We had a great time and will definitely look to book again.
Denise
Fantastic place lovely and clean brilliant accommodation we thoroughly enjoyed ... Fantastic place lovely and clean brilliant accommodation we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here hot tubs were very well kept would definitely recommend and would be more than happy to come again Owner was very nice and helpful the whole experience was great
We had an amazing time, all 14 of us with varying ages from 3 up to 70. There was a lot of things to entertain from a games room to a PS3 with games. The wifi is not very good but that makes for a closer holiday. The house itself is very spacious and the ground floor room was brill for my daughter and her husband with 2 young children. There are 2 log burners but you never need them with the underfloor heating. Would definitely recommend it and hope to come back one day. Eryl the owner is a very pleasant man who can't do enough for you. The hot tubs and sauna got some good use, as did the barbeque. All in all we came home very relaxed. John Gina and family.
Robert
We had a great family gathering at the cottage. Eryl Williams the owner was very helpful with any enquiries we had and he came to the cottage to great us immediately we arrived. The cottage is huge and accommodated 16 of us quite adequately. All of our party thoroughly enjoyed our stay which made it all the more special as we celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary with our family. We would highly recommend this venue for large gatherings it is perfect for large groups. The hot tubs were a great hit with all those that ventured outside considering it was February.
The owner and the property was fantastic. The listing details need updating as there were more beneficial additions than listed. Its time for Sykes to provide as a matter of policy broadbandwifi capability as whilst the property had a connection it was unusable to a member of our group who needed to work. There should be clarity what connection speed is achievable. This is not a property exclusive issue, weve found the same problem several times when booking rural properties. Otherwise, this was a great break with a caring owner providing a great property.
ie Ann
Fabulous sized property that we had a brilliant weekend away in for my husbands 60th birthday. Lots of room and things to do for 4 children aged 2 to 11. Great area for dogs to have a run around too. Well equipped kitchen and dining room. Not a criticism at all, but could do with some information on where to leave recycling and bins. Could have done with not having them stored in the kitchen. The family staying in the bedroom next to the games room said there were quite a few flies in there and in the games room. not sure if this is a regular thing or weather related maybe!!!! Parts of the property are a little bit 'tired' and could do with tidy up lick of paint outside area by hot tubs but would definitely love to stay again. Everywhere looks a little better in the sunshine, so maybe a summer stay next time!
Great relaxing weekend away. The house was large enough to accommodate 15 people and 4 dogs, there was plenty of space for the dogs and humans to run around!! The owner was in touch and to hand if any problems also the local pub The Glen Llyn was a bonus!!!
Yvonne
The property had excellent facilities, particularly the bedrooms all being ensuite. All the communal areas were comfortable and large enough for everyone to sit together. The property was very private and the 2 hottubs were excellent. It stated wifi, but we had no wifi access all the time we were there. There were a couple of faulty items in the kitchen. We did inform the owner. This did not detract from us having a great stay at the property, and we would definitely stay there again.
Lesley
The property is what I would describe as rustic. We would definitely book again for a large group 11 adults, 5 children, 2 dogs. The hot tubs and sauna were fab and there was a field for the dogs to run in. The children loved seeing the cows in the barn. The community shop and pub were great. The WiFi is okay, not the best but youre in the middle of nowhere, its a welcome break from technology, the children had a ball playing hide and seek in the huge cottage. We were even lucky enough to see shooting stars. If youre looking for somewhere for a large group that doesnt cost the earth this is it, value for money.
