Pear Tree Lodge At Talgarth Reviews

Jamie
We had a brilliant time in a very clean and a modern lodge. It was a lovely tranquil setup, with the stream running in the background. Particularly loved the wood fired hot tub! Perfect for a friends and family holiday with the little ones and dog! Thank you
Laura
Was perfect, location, settings, garden, hot tub, everything we needed was there cork screw tin opener. And the details in the blurb about the eco house and the surrounding areas was fab.
Caroline
Our stay at Pear Tree Lodge was wonderful, the lodge had everything we needed for our family of fours and a dogs holiday. The garden is shared with Apple Tree Lodge and isnt secure so we kept the dog on a lead whilst outside or he would have been straight in the river at the bottom of the garden! A few steps down to the Lodge so not for the less abRead morele bodied. Talgarth is a lovely town and we had brunch in The Mill a few times and dinner at The Bridge Inn which both allowed dogs. Hide

Amazing cottage! Very clean, has everything we needed and the location was perfect for all our dog walks. The little town it is in has everything you need. We are already thinking about going back in the summer. We managed to get the hot tub going despite the cold temps and was well worth it. Thank you!
Elizabeth
Fabulous modern lodge, very well equipped kitchen and in easy reach of the shops and pubs in the village. The floor to ceiling glass windows were wonderful. It really is in an orchard - you are surrounded by apples and pears! We enjoyed the walks up into the Black Mountains and the nearby Nature Reserve.
Tomasz
Very comfortable, modern accommodation in a quiet, private setting. Highly recommend!
Georgina
We really enjoyed our stay at Pear Tree Lodge. It was cosy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and peaceful rest at the end of several very active days with the kids. The hot tub and BBQ were great too.
Diane
This s a fab cottage. Not only is it well placed for the local town of Talgarth which is really nice (people were super friendly, can recommend the cheese and bread from the local shops were so nice. Both the pub and the curry house were great but do call to book as we only just managed to get food at the pub as they stop serving quite early. The c ottage (lodge) is super cozy with fab garden to the stream definitely recommend - maybe a little costly would be our only negative!
Paula
Lovely location for our needs. Comfy cottage to return to after a long day walking. Many places to visit nearby. Village itself great and everything within walking distance, including local pub, chip shop, general store, butchers, ice cream parlour and curry house. Cottage was ideal and everything youll need for your stay is available. Owners and c ontacts were amazing and very helpful. Would highly recommend.
Lydia
Lovley stay- well equipped. Super comfortable beds and didnt want to leave. Tranquil property and those sliding door and opening them to nature in the morning are just a gem. Garden was great for the dog he loved it :)
Andrew
Really nice cottage and great location.
Natalie
The place was absolutely beautiful, set in such a lovely location with the stream at the bottom and plenty of space. The owner's were very helpful and friendly with recommendations on what to do and guides for everything needed with the property. Although the village was only 2 minute walk away to the local pub and shops (which was excellent), you still felt very private and secluded getting the best of both.
Ian
Lovely lodge in a lovely location with plenty to do. Louise was extremely helpful and understanding. Would definitely return.
Lyne
The lodge was not what we expected, dirty floor tiles in shower, dust and dog hair on stairs upon arrival, no outdoor furniture provided even though it states we had some. The whole experience was not very welcoming we would not have paid that much for this.
Danielle
Fabulous lodge, beautiful and very well-appointed. Hot tub was very enjoyable and the stream, red kites, birds and squirrels were fab to sit and watch and listen to. Louise was great!
Ann
Lovely spot- great location for walking the Beacons and the Black mountains. Good walks from Talgarth. Pear tree was well equipped and very comfortable.
Andrew
Positives: Talgarth is lovely, bed was extra comfy. But... Really not clean enough. We left it cleaner than when we arrived. Looked shabby, needs a repaint. Hated the wood fired hot tub in the other lodge. Not very eco friendly is it? Blew filthy fumes right in the door and stank the whole location out. We very nearly left early on Wednesday when our "neighbours" decided their right to wallow in warm water trumped our right to clean air. Disgusting. Would never stay there again.
Amy
A well positioned lodge close to all the amenities of Talgarth. Comfortable and warm with a really enjoyable hot tub. Overall, the lodge is a bit too small for 4 adults and 1 dog staying for a week and amenities within the lodge could be improved for the price point.
Theresa
We had a lovely stay here. Wonderful village with friendly locals. Really well located and in a lovely setting. Modern and airy accommodation. Good sized beds and shower. Only criticism was parking a bit confusing and level of overall cleanliness. Lovely south facing garden but a bit unrelenting in a heat wave as no parasol or blinds in living room . Hot tub takes a while to heat up but a real treat.
Geoffrey
Very good cottage, good beds, private even though there is another lodge on the same site. The hot hub warmed up very quickly in a hot June week. Local people are very friendly with good stiff walks from the door. Steps down to lodge are tricky if you are not good on your pins. The hob needed to be turned on and off regularly to make work.
Jeremy
Other than the few issues we had over all we had a lovely holiday and the lodge is beautiful and the setting is lovely. I do think it's over priced that's my personal opinion.
Rachel
We really enjoyed our stay at Pear Tree Lodge. It is set in an orchard leading down to a steam, very green and lovely to watch the birdlife. The beds were really comfortable, and there was everything we needed. The Lodge is very private, not overlooked at all, and we liked the village and the surrounding area is beautiful. We were in the area to go to The Hay Festival, it was good to leave the buzzing vibe of the festival to retreat to the tranquility of the Lodge.
Lucy
Beautiful location, spotlessly clean and very comfy beds. Seamless handover and would definitely go there again. Highly recommend it.
Rebecca
Such a lovely lodge and in beautiful surroundings. The lodge is in a lovely quiet location, but just a two minute walk from the village. Tastefully decorated and furnished, with very comfortable beds and had everything we needed for our stay. We loved the full length windows, and loved the wood fired hot tub. Would certainly love to stay again, the perfect retreat in an idyllic setting, we loved it.
James
Beautiful stay and very helpful/Kind property manager (Lousie)
Joanne
The lodge was really nice, the hot tub was lovely once warmed up, did take a full day. Comfy beds and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again.
Gemma
Lovely cosy lodge, super quiet and peaceful. Very comfy beds and a fantastic powerful shower. The lodge is 2 minutes walk from a cute village. We didnt want to leave and the lodge manager let us check out a little later too, which we really appreciated as we wanted just one more dip in the hot tub.
Mark
Lovely location for exploring the area. Comfiest beds with the highest quality linen! Tastefully presented lodge to ensure the best retreat experience!!
PETER
Beautiful setting, very peaceful. A great place to get away from it all.
Pauline
The cottage was set in a wonderful setting. Lovely pub in the village and had excellent fish and chips from the takeaway too. The best part of the holiday was the hot tub. Husband loved getting it up to the right temperature and kept him amused. Very restful break away
Susan
A nice property in a lovely Welsh town. The contact Louise was very prompt in her actions and always answered the phone or messages sent to her in good time. I would visit again.
Jessica
