Herbie's Shepherds Hut Reviews

We absolutely loved our stay and are already planning our next trip here. The hut was so well designed and the decor was very cosy. The location is very peaceful and if you're a nature lover, this is a perfect spot. Chris and Helen were so welcoming and hospitable and were happy to answer any queries we had. Would definitely recommend staying here!

We stayed in herbies hut and it was everything we could have wished for. The location is so peaceful and beautiful, with a lake and wildlife. The hut itself was fully equipped with everything, furnished to a high standard and good quality. The hot tub was also fantastic and the host Chris was super friendly and accommodating. He advised us of local pubsrestaurants and walks to take as well. Couldnt fault this stay and would definitely recommend!
A very warm welcome offered, we'd arranged for the hot tub to be ready for us to use which was perfect! Facilities were excellent and exceeded our expectations throughout. They were so many home comforts that made our two night stay brilliant. Powerful & hot shower and flushing toilet housed in the shower room of the shepherds hut, fridge including freezer section, hob and all the necessary equipment to make your stay really comfortable. Lovely views over the pond, watching the swallows diving and the moorhen with her chick's. It was escapism at its best. Definitely recommend and we'll definitely go back.
We had an amazing stay in Herbies Shepherds Hut, Chris and Helen made us feel so welcome. The facilities are to a high standard and the surroundings are beautiful and so peaceful, we will definitely be back!

Our stay at herbies cabin was so peaceful we enjoyed so much. The cabin was cosy and cleans just what we wanted and the ementities were brilliant the hot tub fire pit and epsecially the BBQ. My husband loves to bbq so it was great for us to make our bbq food and there was a large pond with geese ducks lovely to wake up to. The location was perfect we tried out thexwillow tavern in the village it was lovely. Our host chris was brilliant & very accomadating he offered us a late check out as the new guests were going later on. Thank you so much for our stay we will highly reccomend to family and freinds
BEST HOT TUB GETAWAY BY FAR! ! I was looking for a special weekend away for my boyfriends birthday present and I came across Herbie hut at Shepard's lodges. It had everything we were looking for. It has a lovely log fire, heated hot tub so you can watch the stars at night but also feel like youre getting the proper camping experience. Stunning countryside views, fantastic pubs, restaurants and attractions to see near by, hut itself is beautiful and cozy and comes with everything you need for a lovely stay. Chris the owner and his partner Helen were so welcoming and helped us out where we needed, they were such nice hosts. We both instantly felt so at home and relaxed and it just made our weekend even better. Chris and Helen also has some lovely pets that are on the land and I loved it as Im a huge animal person. Its just an all round lovely atmosphere. We loved every second and we are definitely coming back for another relaxing getaway. It was absolutely perfect thank you Chris and Helen. It was a lovely location with plenty of places to visit nearby. Hot tub was great once it got up to temp which for us took a lot longer then the 2 2.5 hrs stated in the information book. Generally the hut was a lovely stay and would recommend to others. Thanks
Jennifer
Such an amazing place to stay, couldn't ask for a better experience. Chris was so welcoming and helpful with setting the hot tub going for us and had a lovely chat with him. Would recommend to anyone for a perfect retreat location. 1010!

Great couples weekend away, the facilities where like staying in a big hotel room with the comfiest bed, with a loverly hot tub. Will definitely be staying again with friends and family in the orther huts.Definitely recommend
Beautiful lodge and surrounding scenery overlooking a lake with ducks in. Feels very private, lodges are well spaced apart, and a wooden fencing to give your privacy whilst in the hot tub! The lodge itself feels so cosy, as it was such a lovely touch with the little lights in the ceiling above the bed. We loved it! The hot tub was a perfect size for a coupe, however empty on arrival, therefore, we had to fill it up from the hose, it took a whole day evening and a lot of logs to heat it up to the right temperature, meaning we missed a day evening to be able to go in it We had to keep the fire going throughout the night, which means the next morning it was warm enough that it only took a hour to get it to the right temperature ! Once it was hot enough it was so lovely and relaxing and it held its heat in really well!! We loved it even went in it in the rain! We loved our stay here and would recommend it to everyone whos looking for a quiet, calming, relaxing time away Would definitely come again!

Amazing time here. So beautiful and peaceful! The owner is lovely and very helpful! Cannot wait to return!!! Xxx
Everything was perfect, just as detailed, owners were really friendly & helpful. Couldnt recommend enough. Only thing I would say is wellies are a must & pack light.

Chris and Helen were super polite and kind. They helped out when I had any questions especially about local places to eat and were always available. The hut was amazingly maintained with a wonderful view. The hot tub was definitely lovely in a cold December night. I 100 will be returning here in the future.

Absolutely fantastic stay! Cannot wait to stay again! Bed was super comfy and cosy! The shepherds hurts and really made to wow! Just a perfect long weekend break!
A great place to spend a couple of daysnights decompressing. We went for a walk to the The Windmill Inn down the road, which was really nice. Also treated ourselves to a takeaway from Mr Man and Mr Pang's Chinese takeaway which included a painless delivery considering the location. Other than that, we relaxed in the hut, took a dip in the hot tub and just relaxed in the tranquil setting. I'm sure we'll be back for another visit.
I had a 2 night stay at Herbie's and wish I'd booked for longer! The hut was absolutely beautiful and I was in awe of the detail that was included. The bed was quirky, comfortable and beautiful to sleep in! There was absolutely everything needed in a small space, everything had been thought of. The whole hut was so clean. The underfloor heating was also a wonderful addition. Now, the hot tub was incredible! It fitted two adults comfortably and got up to an addictive temperature, I didn't want to get out. I also highly recommend visiting Lisa. I treated myself to a facial and a massage, both of which I'd never had before. Lisa and her pooch Bella made me feel right at home and I left feeling ridiculously relaxed. I'd definitely love to return here. Thank you Chris and Helen for such a lovely stay, you've done an amazing job with the place.
The pictures are more luxurious than the cabin. The lake looks on pictures bigger than it is very deceptive the hot tub I would not expect to have to heat it by fire again not listed, parking leads you to believe that it is by the cabin. When arriving in the dark no good sign postage for directions lead us to driving around for 1 12 hours. Very expensive for the experience would not book again . 10am is also a very early time for check out

I stayed here for 3 nights with my partner and we enjoyed every minute of it. Chris was on hand to help whenever we needed and was really friendly. He offered fantastic advice on local attractions and food places. The Hut was clean and had excellent facilities. The location was peaceful and made for a relaxing break. I definitely recommend this property for any couple looking for a quiet getaway.
Chris and his wife where friendly, kind and they where always around if you needed them There three beautiful pups also welcomed us and gave us some good laughs. The hut my partner and I stayed in was beautiful it was cute and cozy. Located in the best place with everything round the corner. A fab Chinese takeaway nearby which was amazing would recommend. We had an amazing time. I hope to maybe go back sometime in the future. Thank you both for having us.

Me and my partner stayed at Herbie's Hut for 3 nights. It was the most relaxing and enjoyable time. Chris was very welcoming, helpful and informative. The hut was cosy, felt like home and had everything we needed. Hot tub was easy to use and such a lovely touch. The views were just beautiful. Looking out onto the pond in the morning with the duckies and horses in the distance, you just can't beat it. Watching the sunset and star gazing in the evening, me and my partner even saw a shooting star on our last night. It is just the perfect place for a getaway. Peaceful, quiet and secluded. Chris has done a wonderful job with the huts and it was so nice to see how passionate he is about his home and grounds. I would recommend this place to everyone. Only downside was having to leave but we cannot wait to come back D see you again. Hannah and Lewis

A lovely concept, brilliantly executed
When we arrived we were greeted by the most polite and well spoken people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, they showed us to the hut and around the area before letting us settle in. The hut itself was situated in the perfect place and as the owner Chris says it definitely was as if the hut was always supposed to be there with how the trees had grown providing the perfect amount of privacy but not obstructing the beautiful view to the pond. The cleanliness was brilliant, everything was tip top! Chris and Helen couldnt do enough for you! Ive already recommended 3 people whove booked their stays there and Im currently looking at gathering all my mates to book the whole site! 1010 definitely should book! Thank you to the wonderful owners for a well needed break away.
Me and my gf really enjoyed our stay at herbies hut. It had absolutely everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing break away from the busy city. 1010 would recommend
The location is beautiful and the hut is cosy, clean, and well equipped. It was easy to find and there is plenty to do from here. Really relaxing and Chris provided a friendly face and warm welcome. Will definitely come again!
We stayed at Herbies Shepherds hut for 2 nights and it will definitely be a place we will be returning too! Chris greeted us outside of the hut and gave recommendations on pubs and local attractions, whilst giving us a talk through on how to use the hot tub and the facilities inside of the hut. I cannot fault his kindness. The pictures really does not give this place justice, its so beautiful and relaxing. I would highly recommend if your looking for somewhere that is like home but in a more comforting way.
We stayed at Herbies shepards hut for 3 n8ghts and it was honestly amazing. This was a suprise for my girlfriend and she loved it. The hut is clean, has everything you want and the view with a lake is absolutely amazing. The ducks and dogs are super cute and there is so much seating and things to observe outside. The owners are lovely and were super helpful. There is so many places to explore and vist all around it really is a little gem. We will be back in the summer!
I can honestly say we had an amazing stay at Shepherds Lodge. Chris is a really lovely guy and super helpful, makes you feel really welcome. Me and my husband have crazy busy lives with work and family and we dont really get much time for us, the weekend we spent at shepherds lodge was amazing ,we actually got to have a conversation without loading the washing machine or cooking dinner in between talking. Sitting outdoors you can hear many of the near by farming animals which for us is very different its usually transport that we hear when sitting outside trying to relax. The hot tub is fab having to light the logs to get the water to temperature was great fun for my husband, Chris has literally thought of everything theres a hose incase the hot tub gets too hot ,picturesque outdoor scenery and lighting and inside the hut you will find everything you need it actually feels like home from home. The twinkling lights over the bed are so calming and add that little bit of peacefulness. All in all it was an amazing adventure and will definitely be returning.
We have visited and stayed there fir 4 days. They said there is parking but there wasn't. Long muddy road to get to the cottege. No any trolley or wheelbarrow to take the our things in the cottege we had to go to the car and back around 5 time to unload the bags and food. Hot top water was very dirty.
We received a friendly welcome in a stunning environment and perfect accomodation. Great for a digital detox and reconnecting with what life's about. We'll miss seeing the duckies passing by at the pond, the Belvoir castle view and the Bottesford townspeople.
We had a truly wonderful wk end with an experience we will treasure. Set in a beautiful village with a cracking local pub, all the locals were very welcoming and fantastic walks around the local countryside. The Hut itself was beautiful, very comfortable and you have everything you need, lovely little finishing touches too. The owner Chris was exceptionally accommodating. We would highly recommend and will visit again very soon.
We have just spent a fantastic weekend in Herbies hut & couldnt recommend it more highly. Tucked away around a small lake its so peaceful and relaxing. The quality and cleanliness of the hut is exceptional and the little extras in the fridge most welcome! Our hosts couldnt do enough for us. The hot tub is great fun, even learning to light it and get it up to temperature, then its so relaxing, even when its 2 degrees outside.

Stayed here for 2 nights and couldnt fault it one bit. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the two most loveliest people who shown us the property, local pubs and restaurants and made sure we had everything we needed. The property is brand new, extremely clean, really cosy especially the hot tub and in an ideal location for a quiet escape. Would definitely recommend this and will be looking to visit again. Thank you both
