The Pinfold Reviews

A lovely relaxing weekend for the family was just what we needed. Lovely, clean and cosy. The hottub was a bonus and we spend some time relaxing in there, also enjoying the lovely country walks and a few drinks in the lovely pub. We what definitely recommend this x
We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay at the Pinfold. The accommodation was very clean & comfortable & the village was lovely & quiet, with plenty of areas to walk & explore the local history. The Berkeley Arms 2 doors down was definitely worth a visit, in fact we ended up dining there 3 times, the food & hospitality was so good & Rutland water is literally on your doorstep for some amazing walks.
Barbara

Geoffrey
Lovely little cottage, warm and comfortable. Deceivingly spacious. Very nice pub just next door, perfect for Sunday lunch.
Such a great find. The Pinfold was a lovely place for a weekend stay for a family wedding at The Mill just up the road. The Berkeley Arms was a wonderful pub just next door. I would recommend booking as they get very busy. Very impressed with the help from the owners and the little touches inside the property. The little village is very pretty. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Beautiful well equipped cottage in a delightful part of the country
Jacqueline
This is our second visit to The Pinfold. It is comfortable, with every thing you need. We love the area and the village is lovely, with great walks for our dog.
Leanne
Gem of a collage and village everything you need and more provided, easy check in and out thanks
Alison
Beautifully presented, comfortable cottage in excellent village location. Really appreciated lots of bowls, not only for breakfast, suppers but also salad & fruit bowls. Good bathrooms, though no socket for electric toothbrushes. Owners sent detailed information a week before we arrived which was very useful too.
Great little property that was spotlessly clean and well maintained, it had everything we required and the Berkeley Arms being just a couple of doors down which serviced lovely food was ideal, we also visited the Windmill up the hill behind the property for breakfast which was lovely Rutland water less than 20 mins drive for a nice walk with the dog and close to Oakham to allow us to pop in and grab some supplies from Tesco's, all in all a great stay!
There is a problem with the above form. I am not able to rate the property. In all aspects the property deserves a rating of four stars. The property is a jewel in a lovely, quiet and very friendly neighbourhood. We have stayed there twice and intend to book again for next year hopefully for a longer stay. I cannot give Sykes a recommendation better than 7, because I, as a customer living in Germany, feel that I am disadvantaged compared to customers in the UK. Kind regards, Keith Overton
This was a lovely Cottage with everything you needed. It was very clean and fresh. The hot tub was great. The pub next door was very welcoming and was great for leaving our old dog as could pop and check on him regularly. Every body we met were friendly. We had a very relaxing stay.
Very comfortable cottage, brilliant walks all around the village. Loved the hot tub. The Antique shop was lovely to have a look around. We missed a local shop to buy papers from.
Charlotte
Beautiful Cottage! ! If youre thinking of booking, then do it! You wont be disappointed. Very clean and had everything we could have needed. Lovely little welcome treats left by the hosts, too. It was very comfortable for 2 adults and 3 children, plus 2 dogs! And the hot tub was a lovely way to relax after a busy day. Thank you for having us!

Fantastic cottage in a wonderful location. Lovely touches were very much appreciated, such as dog treatsbowl, salt & pepper, teacoffee, biscuits.the list goes on. Local pictures on the walls added to the experience. Great few days staying at The Pinfold, thank you very much.
This was a last minute booking and the whole thing was made very easy. Its a lovely cottage in a great location and Louise is a lovely host
Weve had a lovely stay at The Pinfold. Spotlessly clean, nicely decorated for Christmas and well equipped for your stay. The village itself was lovely, a short drive to Rutland Water and a great pub literally two doors away. The initial communication with Louise was very detailed and any minors issues were responded to quickly. Thank you, we will definitely return.
Lindsay
Fantastic cottage, super clean, lovely dog friendly local pub with great food.
Lovely, comfortable cottage.

Our 2nd time at The Pinfold, using the accommodation to visit relatives that live in Melton Mowbray. We have already booked to come back next year. The accommodation was spotless and met all of our requirements. A question I had was met with a prompt and helpful response from the owner. Parking spaces right outside the front of the property are a bonus as is the pub next door where a warm welcome was received on the 3 occasions we used it. Our dogs enjoyed the large park justa 5 minute walk down the road, and the locals we bumped into were very friendly. On our last day we enjoyed breakfast at the Windmill cafe. Used the hot tub each day. Lovely to relax in. Would recommend this property.
Jacqueline
We had a great week at The Pinfold. The cottage was very cosy, comfortable, and well equipped. We appreciated the treats, human and doggy. The village was lovely and we enjoyed great meals at the pub next door and visited the Windmill caf and shops in the village. There were beautiful walks all around the area and we enjoyed going to Rutland water and Stamford. All in all, a really great place to stay.
Jennifer
Lovely well laid out and very clean cottage in a pretty village, bigger than it looks in the pictures. The hot tub was great and we used it everyday. Great pub two doors down , the staff and locals were all very welcoming and the food was great. Great location, would definitely recommend
Beverley

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and welcoming. The owners had thought of everything to ensure our stay with our sons adult and teenager and our dog was both enjoyable and comfortable, including adequate WiFi very important to a teenager!. We were even left some milk, tea, coffee, a bottle of sparkling wine, and doggy treats as well as human biscuits to start off our holiday. To top it off, the pub near the property was excellent friendly staff and locals as well absolutely amazing food. Would highly recommend this holiday let.
Matthew
Everything about this property was just perfect, I would stay here again.

What a gem of a find. The Pinfold is one of the best property's we have stayed in and we holiday 4 times year!!! on par with a 5 hotel, cleanliness and attention to detail are second to none. Facilities and decor to the highest standard. Pub next door The Berkeley Arms is fabulous, friendly and great food. Also surrounding villages are very picturesque with top quality food, all of which are recommended by Louise in the extremely helpful packs in property. Cannot recommend highly enough, so much so we have already booked for Xmas!!!! Looking forward to enjoying the Hot Tub on a cold, hopefully snowy Xmas Day Well done Louise, thank you for a fabulous stay
Superb cottage must be one of the best we have ever stayed in. Particularly, the bed was incredibly comfortable, which is unusual for a holiday cottage this really did make the stay special. Very well appointed with a modern twist really liked the clock in the kitchen! What was also really good was the parking plenty of room and ideal for loading and unloading. Will definitely look to come back thank you Louise and Dean.
This is a beautiful cottage. It has been decorated and furnished with love and with attention to guests needs. Everything that one could need is provided. The cottage is set in a pretty village with unspoilt countryside around. We, our friends and especially our little dog thoroughly enjoyed our stay and intend to return.
Wonderful place very picturesque and very relaxing clean tidy, couldnt be more happy with the stay
Russell
We absolutely loved our stay at The Pinfold. Very nice decor and facilities and great communication from the owner. We will definitely be back.
These owners came to the rescue when our original holiday cottage in Herefordshire was cancelled by its owners with less than 24hrs notice. Louises communication of all the information we needed prior to our arrival was swift, efficient and friendly. This lovely house was a home from home. It was very comfortable and well appointed. The welcome pack for us and our 2 dogs Will and Luna was also very much appreciated! Added bonus is theres a lovely pub practically next door which is very dog friendly and serves great food. Also an enclosed field for off lead dog walking half a mile up Main Street. Highly recommend this property, you wont be disappointed!
This is one of the best cottages we have stayed in, and we holiday twice a year. Could not fault the property or the area.
Antonia
Louise and Dean are wonderful and helpful hosts who have thought of everything. This was such a comfortable stay, and very relaxing for myself and my friends, and the pictures didn't do the property justice. We've never visited this area before, and it is so picturesque. All round just a great property and area, we would love to come back in the summer!
What a superb property The Pinfold is. So very clean and comfortable and beautifully decorated for Christmas. It made our winter break extra special. Wymondham is a lovely characterful village lovely pub just a few years from us. We visited Oakham, Uppingham, Rutland Water and saw a wonderful display of 200 Christmas trees in St Mary's Church, Melton Mowbray. Rutland Garden Village has a very good eatery, The Cakery, and luckily for us Hambleton Bakery has opened a smashing coffee shop Just eaten some of the delicious goodies we bought there. Also bought all our Christmas meat in Glenn Lewin Butchers, Sileby. The Pinfold has so many lovely places to visit nearby. You won't be disappointed it was a 'quality' holiday. As we are retired we visit many Sykes properties during the year and this really is one of the best
We have a fabulous stay at The Pinfold. Everything was as expected and spotlessly clean with very informative messages received before our stay. We had a lovely walk up to The Windmill and the pub next door was lovely and cosy for an afternoon drink before returning to use the hot tub. Would not hesitate to return! Thank you!
Fab retreat with everything you could need. Lovely clean place with hot tub and pub stumbling distance! Would love to come back
Christopher
Lovely property 30 yds from a great pub, but never noisy. Hot tub was perfect for lazy summer evenings. Beautiful olde English village and locals all very friendly. Only 15 mins from Rutland water and with the weather being so nice we visited twice and all agreed that a decent summer in England is as good as anywhere. Would recommend the Pinfold and would like to thank Louise for making our stay fantastic.
What a beautiful cottage so comfortable and lots of lovely little extras which just added to our stay. We received a thoughtful and lovely welcome basket on arrival which was so appreciated by us and the kids in particular. Very well equipped and beautifully furnished. The cottage is in a beautiful village with a lovely friendly pub next door. Would highly recommend this cottage and very much hope to return again.
Samiha
Thank you for all your efforts in making the house ready for us! Perfect destination for couples or family who want to escape into the peace and quiet! Locals are amazing and friendly. The hot tub was great and easy to use.

This is an all weather attraction located in Ilkeston Derbyshire.  With a large play frame as well as bikes and ride on toys this is a fun place for young children.  The toddler time sessions take place during term times on week days from 9.30am until 2.30pm and are very popular. The admission fee is excellent value for money and parents can sit down and enjoy a drink while the children play. A new baby changing facility has now been installed together with some new chairs making this a clean and welcoming attraction for families.  Look out for offers on their website such as a free hot drink on select days.
