Oak Lodge At Bridge Lake Farm & Fishery Reviews

Minor change to lodge in that it would be nice to have dimmers on the lighting to soften this at night
Can honestly say that we have had more relaxation at oak lodge than at most other venues. The peace, serenity and beauty of nature helps the rigours of life and what this world throws at you, pale into insignificance. Brendan was so helpful and answered every one of our requests, promptly and with good nature. What more can I say. Go back? Oh yes.

We had a really lovely stay in the Oak Lodge. The lodge was exactly as the pictures looked very picturesque, peaceful and perfect for a relaxing weekend. The guide in the room was full of information with things to do places to eat locally. Brendan was extremely helpful, accommodating and friendly throughout. Have already recommended to friends and family. We will definitely be coming back!
We had a fantastic few days away. The cabin was perfect and everything you would need has been thought of. Its a beautiful, peaceful place. Its very easy to get to Oxford and StratforduponAvon from Chacombe. Brendan was lovely and answered a couple of queries we had really quickly. We felt very well looked after and are planning to revisit next year for a longer stay.
The whole experience from beginning to end was exceptional. On arrival we were met by brendan, who i think was the owner, who drove us to our lodge with our luggage in a covered cart. The lodge was stunning, very secluded and quiet. The facilites were over and above what was required and the location, right on the waters edge on a secured pontoon was sooo relaxing. We had a daily visitor who remained with us even though we sat next to her, the resident female duck. She even came to say goodbye. Visiting bicester village is a must and is only about 20 mins drive away. Upton park and manor is lovely too. The alpacas on the way to the pub are amusing with their hair cuts. In all a lovely relaxing time away in a beautiful location and the owners the jenkins family are very lovely people. Thank you for a lovely time.
The property was absolutely perfect and will definitely return. Brendon was really welcoming and nothing was a problem. Thankyou for the eggs !
Very clever use of the restricted space With functional provision of appliances and utensils. Personally I thoroughly enjoyed the fishing, no monsters but plenty of bites
What a wonderful place to stay and relax Absolutely stunning ! !
Simply stunning! Peaceful, beautiful setting and the lodges are cosy! We definitely be returning next year.
What an amazing time we had in Oak Lodge the fishing was fabulous and so nice to just step out of the door and start fishing on our very own decking . An absolutely 5
The stay was excellent and Brendan as a host excelled. The whole site is extremely well finished. The short walk to the pub in the village is well worth it and even better if the alpacas come up for a pint!
Robert
Thank you for a pleasant stay

Fantastic place and what a brilliant idea Brendan had ! I have already recommended to people we had an amazing time. If I could criticise anything it would be having to buy additional logs to keep the hot tub useable. The reason for booking this venue was because of the hot tub as well as other things and the cost to stay in these type of venues is because of the hot tub so we felt that we couldnt use the tub when we wanted because we had to heat it first. We feel that the logs should be provided as part of the stay and there shouldnt be a charge to be able to use it. It was still lovely and relaxing nonetheless! Next time we may book the tunnel as that looks fantastic !

My wife and I had such a lovely week at oak lodge. The site is beautiful, immaculately kept and well equipped. The kitchen area has everything you need to make proper meals, full range of utensils, pots and pans and the oven with microwave was ideal. Underfloor heating means no cold nights and mornings like other lodges, high quality mattresses, linens, towels and robes made our stay very comfortable. The wood fired hot tub was lovely and water quality was well maintained by the owner. The lake and surroundings are very peaceful and secure. We will definitely be booking a return visit.

Staying in this place is magical . We live in Banbury, we were surprised that such a beautiful place is 7 minutes by car from our house . If you need peace and quiet so this is the place for you. We work as Area Managers on a daily basis so for us the best holiday is, a holiday away from the people. Everything was ready on time, there was a hot tub waiting for us, the standard was very good. The cottage was perfectly clean, the hot tub too. Although the cottages are not far from each other, you have complete privacy. Every morning the duck was already waiting for oatmeal

Oak Lodge was like a little piece of paradise! The perfect place to get away from everything. Our experience was perfect from beginning to end . Brendan the host could not have been more welcoming. The incredible customer service began even before we arrived with the fantastic set of instructions so we knew exactly where to go. The lodge has absolutely everything you need and more. Its high quality and the attention to detail is lovely. The lake side setting is breathtaking and the perfect place to unwind. The hot tub is an extra bit of magic ! Thank you so much for a special place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary! Well definitely be back!

The lodge was very lovely, really clean and well presented. The whole are was very quite and a beautiful setting. The views were stunning, especially at sunset and the hot tub was a real bonus. The check in and out were very well organized and the owner very friendly. Just tiny suggestion, could have done with some night lights by the beds Definitely would return!!
Hilary
We had a great 3 night stay in Oak lodge. Service was outstanding there when you needed it but at a distance when you were just enjoying your holiday. Any suggestions for improvements were willingly accepted. Both the cabin and hot tub were exceptionally clean and well organised with all that you needed for a self catering stay. Would recommend.
Amazing experience, so peaceful and relaxing. Very clean and tidy and great service provided for Brendan.
Matthew
A perfect location on a lovely little lake for a 4 night break the lodge and surrounding erea are well maintained and Brendan is always around if you need assistance. The lodge itself has everything you need and with the hot tub you can relax the evening away.
Serena
Fantastic experience at Oak Lodge. Would highly recommend it.
Myself and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at Bridge Lake Farm and Fishery. Upon arrival the owner Brendan greeted us and kindly took us along with our luggage down to our lodge on his golf buggy, he also set up our log fired hot tub up for us so it was all ready to use upon arrival. The cleanliness and overall standard of the accommodation was outstanding and had a very cosy atmosphere. I would 100 percent stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who seeks a fulfilling, tranquil and peaceful break.
The lodge was just perfect for a short stay. It had everything we needed to fully relax and the local amenities are near by but you are completely in the countryaide. Perfect! Brendon was great and super helpful. Top marks
Collin
I am reluctant to provide feedback as it will highlight how good this place is. If you like to sit back and watch a real life nature program then this is the place. With regards to the wildlife, there is always something to watch. Whether it be a kingfisher or a young Coot, there's always something to catch your eye. Idyllic O
Lovey lodge, and surroundings. Only negative wed have is the lack of basic kitchen things salt, pepper, oil The other thing is that the man asked if we wanted him to get the hot tub ready for us when we arrive, which we said yes to. Then when it came to getting in that evening, it was very hot. He had told us to stir it and it will cool down but it just heated up when we stirred it. Was at about 48 degrees which was unbearable for more than 5 minutes Besides that everything was well kept and very tidy for us, and we really enjoyed our stay.
Patricia
We had a wonderful relaxing time at Oak Lodge. Brendan was so helpful, meeting us and taking our luggage to the lodge, had received a text earlier in the day of arrival asking if we wanted hot tub ready for when we arrived, which it was. He explained everything and nothing was too much trouble for him. The information before we arrived and directions were absolutely spot on and we didn't get lost!! The Lodge was perfectly clean and tidy with a welcome box of tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits which was appreciated. If you want a peaceful, tranquil relaxing break, this is it and we look forward to visiting again.
Justin
A fantastic stay in a beautiful location with a extremely friendly & welcoming host in Brendan. We mixed our trip up with a couple of short drives to local towns, Stratford upon Avon is definitely worth a visit, coupled with just making the most of the lodge & its hot tub & fire pitthe perfect little short break away in my opinion!! Highly recommended & Im sure we will be going back again in the not too distant future.

Catanger Llama Trekking - NN12 8LJ
about 7 Miles
This is a really unique attraction and certainly worth a visit in our opinion.  Established in 1995 and situated in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside this attraction will appeal to those looking for something a little different.  You can't ride the animals but you can trek alongside them and enjoy the fantastic scenery.  From farm tracks to country lanes the gentle animals will carry your rucksack for you along the way.  There are personally guided treks available all year round and you will have your own Llama for the trek.
Old Dairy Farm Centre - PO30 2NB
about 12 Miles
Suited to families with children of all ages this is a fantastic attraction in Northamptonshire.  There are many special events held throughout the year so don't forget to check what's happening while you are staying in the region.  Some highlights include the lambing weekends and the monthly local food fayres.
Old Dairy Farm Country Shopping and Craft Centre - LE14 3PF
about 12 Miles
From shopping to home cooked refreshments this is a wonderful day out in the pretty village of Upper Stowe.  You can enjoy amazing views over the Northamptonshire countryside and wander around the complex of stone built farm buildings.  Each building houses something different such as the Occasions Florist, Itsy Bitsy Gifts, Hayrack Gallery and Sheer Delights Lingerie.  When it's time for a rest the Barn Restaurant and Tea Room is the place to go.  There is a small selection of animals at the centre too which younger children will love.  They currently have two Kune Kune pigs, sheep, hens and ducks.  If you are looking for upmarket holiday accommodation in the Northamptonshire area then the luxury lodges at Wicksteed Park are sure to impress.
Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens - OX18 4JP
about 27 Miles
This has to be one of the most popular days out in Oxfordshire and is sure to appeal to nature lovers, animal lovers and keen gardeners.  Families and couples will enjoy wandering around this amazing park with a wide variety of mammals and birds to see as well as reptiles. Some of the most popular animals are the Burrowing Owl, Dexter Cow, African Pancake Tortoise and the Bar Headed Goose.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and special offers.
