The Little Paddock Reviews

Barbara
Beautiful house, everything you couldve wanted provided, goody hamper and milk much appreciated. The owner was on hand for any problems or information not that it was needed. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend this lovely property such a good base for getting round local attractions. Malmesbury Itself is a lovely little town very picturesque, and Abbey is well worse of visit as is the museum in the town hall. Had some lovely meals out particularly recommend the rook and the hole in the wall pizza takeaway amazing.
An extremely well appointed property. Even better than described. The property owner was quickly on hand to sort little niggles. We all felt seriously looked after the dog especially, the toddler and 6 adults!! Lots of little bolt holes if anyone wanted 'space' but big spaces too when we wanted to be all together. Lovely. Thank you.
Fantastic place to stay, everything catered for, lovely little touches throughout, spotlessly clean, would highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this excellence property which is very comfortable and very well provided for in all the aspects that mattered to us. We plan to return for a longer stay.
Excellent property furnished to a high level. Fantastic features that make it perfect for families. Owners were really accommodating for which we are so grateful Would highly recommended this property
Fantastic property with great facilities and garden. Dion as always on hand to answer questions and made sure the often used hot tub was ready for use. Secure garden for our dog

We had a great time. There wasn't anything missing from what we required. The only thing I would suggest is having an air conditioning unit fitted in the annex due to it being way too hot to have a good night's sleep but that's my only negative. Our host always got back to me within an hour with a response to my messages. We found the home to be relaxing and a home from home. Pretty central to all destinations. Aldis and waitrose all on your doorstep. A great get away.

We had such a wonderful stay at the little Paddock. The house was beautiful and well equipped and we felt like home. When there were some problems the owner helped with it quick and easy. Although it is located on a kind of bigger street we slept well, especially as there were sleeping kits provided in all the bedrooms. Our younger kids had there own litte garage house and loved it. We totally reccommand!
A wonderful stay at The little paddock the attention to detail was lovely. Lovely welcome tray and the owner was always on hand if needed. A couple of details which would have been really useful would be to have hooks to hang towels or robes on bathroom doors. Also drink making facilities in the kitchenette in the annexe would be really handy so you dont have to walk to the main house for cup of tea in morning! Overall a wonderful stay in a beautiful area. Would definitely return, thank you Dion.
I highly recommend Little Paddock. We thoroughly enjoyed our week. It's a beautiful property with many thoughtful extras provided by the very friendly and helpful owners. The beds were very comfortable, everywhere was very clean. The hot tub and boules court were a bonus and good fun. Thank you! .
Absolutely stunning property. The photographs do not do the place justice. Dion was our host and he was amazing, nothing was too much trouble and he had some good local places for us to eat locally. Everything we needed was in the bungalow and the games room was an added bonus for my sons. Our dog loved the garden. The hot tub was perfect and all gowns, towels and slippers were provided for this. Would love to go back one day.
Excellent property, we will return some when in the future.

Have given feedback to the owner in person.
The House was amazing and defo had the wow factor when we arrived. The owners have literally thought of everything that you could possibly need and then left a lovely welcome basket of goodies and some milk. The beds were amazingly comfortable and we wanted to take up squatters rights. The facilities are brilliant with games room and gym. I had a couple of questions to start and the housekeeper came out straight away and was really helpful. Having an annexe was a real bonus as it meant the family had the house and I could have my granny annexe. The slight downside for us was some of the maintenance. The outside front door didnt close properly which we felt was a security issue with kids in the house. The banister in the annexe was loose and a few other niggles. Also thought an extra 150 to use hot tub on top of holiday cost was a lot. Would it stop us going again? Absolutely not. Would I recommend it? In a heartbeat. Thank you for helping us make family memories!
This was a fabulous property with real attention to detail that made our stay just perfect. The communication about room set up was great and all the info needed about the stay and local area was readily available in the property. Will be recommending to friends and looking at rebooking again when we can. A great relaxing get away.
Definitely not what we expected
On arrival at The Little Paddock we were most impressed with the location, the property and the facilities, however the property proved that you should most definitely not judge a book by the cover. Issues in the holiday included: ? The main house had two showers available, potentially to host 6 people, with a further double room and shower in the annex. Sufficient indeed provided of course you didn?t have the issues that we had. Shower 1 could not be turned up above tepid, shower 2 could not be turned down from hot, fine if you like a hot shower ? not fine for a pre-teen. Shower 3 in the annex had enough hot water for one person. This was reported to the landlord after the first night when we discovered the issue. We were advised this had only been reported to the landlord on the day of our arrival ? what a lie ? given that there was a review of the property from the previous month, visible on the Sykes website reporting the exact same issue. ? The water pressure was ridiculous, water either spurted from the tap or dribbled. ? Halfway through the holiday the boiler failed, leaving us with no hot water at all, not that we could have showered anyway, but we could now no longer even wash, in addition the temperature of the cottage fell below 16 degrees ? official guidance for workplaces is that the temperature should not fall below 16, so to have it fall that low in a cottage that?s marketed with a 5 star rating is absolutely disgusting. We then spent over 3 hours trying to contact the owner and sykes to get this actioned. ? One shower between 6 not being enough, the bathroom in the annex that we were forced to share (by no means a 5 star facility), has a faulty lock. Resulting in my son being trapped in a bathroom for almost an hour ? sykes are aware of this as we did call to try to get help. Fortunately he was able to use the cotton buds in the vanity kit provided as a makeshift lockpick however had he not been able to get out, with no spare key or ability to get in to the building we would have been stuck. ? The hot tub was cloudy ? not unclean, but not encouraging. ? The property has maintenance issues, with peeling paint in places, it looks tired and in the dining room a patch of plaster missing ? are we to be blamed for that too??? ? We were offered ?150 compensation due to having no heating or hot water. We have not received that, although given that we had two children with us I think ?150 is a pathetic offer for a property with no heating at this time of year. School classrooms cannot fall below 18 degrees but it?s acceptable for us to house two children below 16 degrees??? In short I left the property incredibly disappointed, and am now left completely disgusted with the treatment and attitude of the owners, who had clearly failed to action a repair of the facilities reported to them in March and now accuse visitors of damage that they did not inflict.
Don?t bother
We stayed at The Little Paddocks over the Easter weekend and following week. Paid extra for the use of the hot tub. When we arrived we were impressed with the look of the place but the reality was very different. The hot tub was cloudy so not inviting although we were assured it was ok. It wasn?t what I had expected. The shower in the bathroom was cold (we should have had a note left explaining they were waiting for a part). The shower in the shower room was boiling hot and the shower in the annex only provided enough hot water for one shower. With 6 people requiring showers this was not acceptable. Later in the holiday the heating broke down but this was fixed the same day when the Plummer came to fix the shower, leaving muddy footprints all over the floor. We were told we did not need to be at the property as someone would accompany the plummer. They obviously didn?t check the bathroom when he finished. The property has a tired look about the walls and cracked plaster. Not too much of an issue but the final insult was after we returned home we were charged ?250 from out Good Housekeeping Bond to replace the shower panel which we were accused of damaging. This has not been rectified as we can?t prove we did not cause the damage. On another occasion my grandson was locked in the bathroom of the annex because the lock fell apart. We booked this through Sykes and they have not been able to sort this problem because we agreed to the Good Housekeeping Bond when we booked the property. This meant the owner could just claim the damages without any consultation with us. The whole experience has left us frustrated and annoyed that we paid to damages we did not cause so be careful of Good Housekeeping Bonds and take photographs of everything you may be accused of damaging
What a relaxing place
We've just come home from here, they was 8 of us, we had ample room. The cottage is dressed and decorated to a very high spec, it really was special to enjoy a bit of luxury. The surroundings are beautiful, we didn't have the best weather but still made great use of the hot tub and outside area. Amazing place, can't wait to go again.
The Little Paddock was a holiday home that felt like a real home. It was very comfortable, very clean and very well furnished and was ideal for our 3 generation family celebration holiday. The games room, snooker table, gym and hot tub were well used and the tub very well maintained by Dion. Any problems we had were soon sorted by Rob and Dion who were always at the end of the phone. A few minor quibbles were the size of the dishwasher which wasnt really big enough for 8 and that it and the fridge were in the utility room rather than the kitchen. The dining room table only seated 6 not 8 and an extra settee would have been useful in the sitting room when we all wanted to be together. As said these are minor quibbles and we would definitely recommend The Little Paddock which was also in a good location for getting out and about. In better weather the garden too would be lovely. A big thank you to Rob & Dion for an excellent base for our holiday.
Little Paddock exceeded our expectations. We had a luxurious week enjoying the excellent facilities, the well tended and spacious garden and the comfortable, elegant home. So generous, from the pretty flowers welcoming us in the hallway to the milk and thoughtful goodies in the kitchen and bathrooms we felt cosseted and relaxed. Thank you very much. The only flaw was the busy road which the owners couldn't help.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Paddock, It was a lovely, clean, spacious property which is beautifully decorated. There were lots of things to do at the property and you could tell a lot of thought had gone into making your stay special. Dion the owner was very helpful and kind. We had three generations of family staying there and they all absolutely loved it. The surrounding area is lovely, with plenty of places nearby to visit and some very good pubs and restaurants close by. I would highly recommend Little Paddock, and we would love to return sometime in the future.
Catherine
What an absolute diamond of a holiday cottage. Dion was absolutely brilliant sorting very quickly and unobtrusively any issue which reared its head. Yes, you do get noise from the min road, and this does make the bedroom noisy at night, especially in the annex, but the cottage itself is wonderful with more amenities than we have ever had on tap. The addition of the games room and hot tub are brilliant. Lots to do, lovely place, highly recommend!
A beautiful house with all of the space and facilities a large three generational family could need. The garden space was brilliant and the hot tub lovely Dion was an attentive but unobtrusive owner who made sure we were having a lovely time. Location was great and we would visit again in a heartbeat.
We had a really nice holiday, everything was first class, plenty of on site thing to do, even had games for us to play, could not find fault with anything, well done to the owners, will tell ll our friends. many thanks xx
Christine
An excellent property, comfortable, clean with great extras to entertain the family. Enjoyed games room, hot tub and spacious gardens. Would definitely return at some point in the future.
Fabulous stay will well fitted out property. Owner attentive and responded quickly to any messages. As with previous visitors and comments in guest book, more hooks on doors in bathrooms etc would be useful. Would have appreciated access to footpath direct from property so as not to have to brave a very busy road. Perhaps a pedestrian access could be made at the far end of the field opposite the footpath to allow direct dog walking from the property? Overall a great stay with the family, lovely property with all the mod cons required for a very relaxing week. Would thoroughly recommend.
Richard
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The garden and hot tub were well used. The house was spacious and had lots of places to vist nearby.
Johannes
Great house for a family holiday, everything is there and more! ! Hot tubb, gym and gameroom especially, beautiful garden, excellent kitchen and the beds are really comfy. In the surroundings is much to do and to see, Bath is a beautiful town, Cycling and walking routes. We love to come back for another stay
Little Paddock is a really lovely property. Spotlessly clean. It has everything you need and is a complete home from home 3 generations of family had a lovely stay here and we can highly recommend. It has a very spacious kitchen and dining area and beautiful sitting room. Large bedrooms and bathroomensuite. Beautifully decorated too and a great deal of thought for the guest to be comfortable and feel like you are at home. We will definitely be back. Thank you!
We had an issue with the zip beds when we arrived but the problem was resolved with 10 minutes of reporting it. Excellent service.
Daniel
Lovely, roomy property with well laid out rooms perfect for family get togethers and entertaining. Very comfy beds, big spacious bathrooms. Great games room and annexe. Hot tub is fantastic as is the grounds lots of room for children to run around and play as well as the adults. Few minor maintenance bits but nothing to impact our stay. Pipes are louder than normal when taps are used so something to be aware of if sharing the shared bathroom with young babies or light sleepers. Great location to shops within 500 yards only downside is located on main road which is busy and can get noisy wiht large lorries or cars going a bit fast and unfortunately no track to walk the 300 yards required to get onto a pavement for further exploration. Owner was very good, always contactable and happy to help with any queries and quick to reply.
The property was a very well presented, beautiful home where everything had been thought of. It was very clean with large gardens and plenty of entertainment options. We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay.
Maureen
Our second visit within a year to Little Paddock, July and December, enjoyed ... Our second visit within a year to Little Paddock, July and December, enjoyed both seasons, hot tub a great feature, cottage very well equipped, beds comfortable, plenty of parking and we enjoyed the games room
Enjoyable weekend!

Another great stay at the Little Paddock Very comfortable house with great facilities for guests. Just the recharge we all needed and looked forward to. The countryside was beautiful with great walks special mention to Cotswold water park. Both Malmesbury and Cirencester were great to visit with good eateries, shops and friendly locals we felt very welcomed.
An outstanding property with lovely little details from towels, slippers, torches, bathroom products and welcome treats. The house was stunning and we didn't want to go out it was simply lovely to enjoy the house and its facilities. The owners were incredibly helpful and very attentive. Loved this property and would love to return.
Stephen
Could not have been happier. The property is wonderful in every respect. Spacious clean tidy well appointed with just about everything you can possibly need. With some wonderful additional little touches. The support from the property management team was excellent. The hot tub was a very welcome addition given the extremely warm weather. You have the advantage of an Aldi store just 30 seconds drive up the road and a large Waitrose about 2 miles further on. The only slight drawback was the road outside the property is busy and you do get some noise from the road. However this did not detract from our enjoyment and we had an excellent time, so would highly recommend this property.
Amazing place to stay for our 4 generation holiday, something for everyone. Grandchildren loved the games room And us! Papa enjoyed the boules. Very spacious property with a real sense of luxury, so many lovely extras provided. Grandson enjoyed choosing which of the 4 tables to eat at. Exceptionally well equipped kitchen with accessories you would have at home. Nice to finish the day in the hot tub. Dion always responded promptly to any problems. Thank you for a very comfortable stay.
Binita
We had a great stay at The Little Paddock. Location is very central. Very well equipped, lovely extra touches, games room for a rainy day, quality toiletries, hot tub towels and slippers, snacks in the kitchen, etc. Would highly recommend and hot tub is a must. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We appreciated all the thought and care that had gone into creating the ambiance. There was a spirit of luxury and generosity. The owner was kind and attentive.
