The Old Cider House Reviews

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in The Old Cider House. Can't fault anything about it. It was nice to meet John , the owner, who came to introduce himself & make sure everything was ok. A fabulous comfortable, very well equipped cottage in a lovely area & within walking distance of the village shop & pub & walks from the door for our dog. Perfect!
Rachel
Fabulous stay at this property. Only a very short drive to get to the Malvern Hills Nature Reserve, and nearby towns. Very cosy accommodation which is really well equipped, with quality fixtures & comfortable beds. Lovely welcome gift & welcome support from John. Would highly recommend.

Having stayed in many cottages over the years the Old Cider House in Hanley Swan is probably the most beautiful. We booked it to be close to Barns & Yard for a wedding and its a 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk away. Its in a tranquil setting with a beautiful garden backing on to woodland, sheep in the next field and views of the Malvern Hills. A fabulous hot tub and bbq too. The inside of the cottage is superb. High end fixtures and fittings and absolutely everything you could possibly need. It exceeded my expectations as if Im honest we booked it purely for the proximity to the wedding venue and am just sorry that we werent able to spend more time there. I would highly recommend the local pub The Swan too!
Angela
Had an amazing weekend at the cottage celebrating a friends 60th birthday . The house was immaculately clean and everything we could have wished for . The surroundings and facilities were amazing and we had the pleasure of using the beautiful garden area and hot tub. Lovely neighbours too and a special treat of some duck eggs for breakfast from them Special thanks to John the owner for our welcome Prosecco and treats and for renting out such a beautiful and cosy home Thanks
Michael
Probably the best holiday let we have stayed in during 50 years plus of self catering holidays. Everything was top notch and had all the comforts of home. Marvellous experience and will probably book again for next year' Mr and Mrs Johnston West Sussex

A lovely cottage in a lovely area. Had a wonderful weekend with friends.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage, Lovely, comfortable and well equipped with top class fixtures and fittings. Pretty enclosed garden with nice seating areas and great hot tub. Easy walk to the local shop and the Swan pub where we had a great meal. Would definitely recommend.
We had an amazing stay at this beautifully decorated cottage near Worcester. It has all the charm of an old farmhouse, with lovely rustic touches, but also features topnotch amenities. The beds were incredibly comfy, making it easy to relax and unwind. The garden was a peaceful retreat, and we especially loved the hot tub, which could be heated with wood or electric so we could hop in whenever we wanted. The location was perfectquiet and serene, yet close enough to explore Worcester, Malvern, and Ledbury. John, the host, was super helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. We also enjoyed a great meal at the local pub, the Swan, which had a really cosy atmosphere. We highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing getaway!
Cottage is perfect as a base or just to chill in. ...all top quality fixtures and fittings make it a pleasure to stay here....a lot of time, pride and effort has gone into this beautiful cottage.... as I have stayed in holiday cottages for over 20 years this one is on another level... totally recommend to everyone to stay here and as an added bonus the neighbours behind the gate are awesome people also, so friendly and helpful......

We had a super holiday. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed, even to the owner bringing lightweight duvets as the weather was very hot. We loved the garden and all it's sitting areas plus the hot tub was an added perk. Would certainly recommend to friends.
This is an amazing house and it is very clear to see the owners love and care of the property. There is everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday & all fixtures & fittings are of a very high quality. The gardens are beautiful with lots of different areas to eat, relax and just drink in the lovely surroundings. Cant recommend this beautiful house highly enough and plan to return as soon as possible! Thank you John for a memorable stay

The Old Cider House is an outstanding, unique property full of character and history. From the amazing decorative bathrooms to the stylish bedrooms and fully equipped kitchen with topend appliances and all the utensils you need! On arrival we were greeted with a few treats which were a lovely touch after our long journey. Our two young girls loved their individual bedrooms which were super comfortable with ample storage. The master bedroom and en suite is fantastic where the bed & bedding were luxurious, stylish and so comfy. We loved our chilled mornings all in bed with a coffee watching the sun shine through onto some of the properties old beams & features. The garden offers such a fantastic family space, with lovely rattan seating and wonderful views especially during a clear evening. The brook at the bottom of the garden in the woodland areas was a huge hit for the girls who spent hours in there hunting for insects for their bug catcher. The wood fired hot tub is a brilliant addition to the garden and only takes a few hours to hit perfect temperature with a solid fire. All kindling, fire wood and fire lighters are provided which was an added bonus. There was sufficient parking on the front for two vehicles and a very secure garden for dogs. We were due to take our dog but changed our minds last minute stayed with relatives but we would have been very happy if she had been with us as there was ample space for her to roam around and relax. John the host visited on one occasion who ensured we had everything we needed which was nice. We did have one issue with the boiler pressure but John helped us resolve it asap so crisis was swiftly averted! Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with this property for the duration of our stay. Just wished we had stayed longer as we all didnt want to leave! Highly recommend this place if anyone is interested, you most definitely will not be disappointed! Thanks John for making our stay super comfortable and one, lastminute, family trip to remember The Moore Family May 2026
My family really enjoyed our stay at The Old Cider House, a quirky and very cosy property that was just what we like. Very clean and decoratedequipped to a very high standard two lovely bathrooms, three cosy bedrooms with very comfortable beds, wellequipped kitchen and utility rooms with everything you could need, aga oven, microwave, air fryer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The lounge had a log burner and reclining sofas! John the owner came round on day two to introduce himself and check that everything was ok. He even lit the logfired hot tub for us, which was a nice touch. The area itself was lovely too and we had a few trips out to discover new places. All in all, really enjoyed it and would book again!
A wonderful find, everything done to a very high standard, very comfortable. The hot tub took a bit of getting used to with the wood burner. John the host was on hand to answer any questions. Great location with lots of options for walks, towns etc. Highly recommend the local pub for an evening meal
We were fortunate to meet John the owner as we were a little bit early. John could not have been more welcoming, showed us around the cottage. The cottage is furnished to a very high standard. Very comfortable, set in a fantastic location, we were sad to leave. It was a pleasure being John's first guests at the cottage.
