The Old Miners Hall Reviews

I have just came back from staying at the old miners hall. There were 14 of us celebrating a 50th birthday and we all had a great time. The house was absolutely amazing with everything we needed and the views were incredible. We loved the spa garden and for those that didnt want to use it, made use of the jacuzzi baths. We will definitely be back!
Beautiful house in a lovely setting. Lots to see and do in the area. Very comfortable We were a party of ten guests. Very warm welcome from the team managing the property. Highly recommended.
The house is stunning , well equipped and top quality. Could not have asked for more. Nicola was really helpful and recommended high force waterfall , then the high force hotel for sunday we were not disappointed

Perfect family weekend away celebrating a big birthday. Well equipped kitchen wish I had space like that!, lovely decor throughout, and the annex is so special and tastefully decorated, love the bath, separate kitchen and TV. The whole family enjoyed it, Nicola is a great host and explained everything we needed to know. Lovely hot tub and spa area with outdoor seating about 30 metres from the main house, brollies provided for adverse weather! Would definitely recommend, had a great time

I would highly recommend The Old Miners Hall. We hired this property for a family celebration and it was perfect. We were greeted by the owner and shown around the property, Nicola was extremely welcoming and helpful. It is obvious how much effort is put into this house as it was spotlessly clean and immaculately presented. The house is decorated to a very high standard and it was extremely comfortable and spacious for our party of 13 adults.
Stephen
Beautiful property which is really well furnished with everything you need. This made our stay very comfortable and relaxing. With ages ranging from 11 to 70, we all loved our time here. Thank you Nicola.

Amazing cottage, high end luxury with fabulous openplan kitchen, everything you would need to cook and serve a feast. Beautifully presented. Large tv, cozy fire and plenty of room with original features through out makes this a great house for a get together with friends or family, amazing views, lovely location for walking or just relaxing in the peace and quiet. Very large hot tub a bonus.Owner very friendly and has thought of everything you would need to make your stay extra special, exceptionally clean.
Old Miners Hall is a perfect place for a family get away. The accommodation suited all in our party with age range of 2785. Plenty of space to access including the wonderful hot tub. the whole set up is so well organised and everything is a really high standard. Nicola was a perfect host and has thought of everything and on hand for any queries. Good advice on things to do and see locally. We had the most amazing stay we will be back!
Excellent property, in a fantastic location. We would definitely recommend it to anyone. Thanks to Nicola for making us feel welcome.
We had such a wonderful stay at the Old Miners Hall! I would absolutely recommend it and would definitely come back.
I shared a week away with my family at the Old Miners Hall. It was simply superb. Nicola was a great host and the house was kitted out with everything you may need. The hot tub went down very well and its size was much bigger than anticipated. You are ideally situated to see Hadrian's Wall and many other wonderful places. I can see why so many other people loved this property. Thanks again.
We were a mixed age family group of 14 and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All amenities were provided for in a luxurious way and it was the perfect setting for our family summer holiday. Nicola the host was ever so helpful and recommended lovely accessible walks and excursions all proved to be wonderful. Thank you for a great time, from all the family

Thank you for a wonderful holiday at the Old Miners Hall for our extended family. Our host Nicola was brilliant throughout our stay. The house is lovely in every way with well thought out layout of the kitchen dining room and living room. The bedrooms are also well arranged and are diverse to meet the needs of a large and diverse group. I have no hesitation of recommending The Old Miners Hall and would gladly stay again.

Nicola the host was fantastic, she was there to help from the minute we arrived and was beyond accommodating the whole time. We will definitely be back
We had a wonderful week in June with our family from the States. The two children will have great memories of England. A special thanks to Nicola who made us very welcome and who acted promptly in posting on a computer that was left behind to the great relief of the owner. I have no hesitation in recommending this property

We had a fabulous hen weekend at the Old Miners Hall! Its a beautiful property, lovely and clean on arrival and well stocked with everything you could need. Plenty of little touches that really made a difference including towels and robes for the spa area. Lots of beautiful walks and plenty of parking space, would definitely recommend.

Fabulous house for a family get together with loads of space and really lovely decor and furnishings, very good quality bedding, towels and bath robes too and spotless exactly as described on the website and in such a beautiful peaceful position with gorgeous views. We loved the spa room with hot tub and made use of the BBQ area too again loads of space and very comfortable seating. Everything you could wish for and more! Nicola met us on arrival and helped with information on eateries and sights to see. Many attractive towns to visit within easy reach.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at a hen do here and it was the perfect place. The house is spacious, clean and had everything you could ever need and more. Thank you for a wonderful stay
Alison
The Old Miners Hall was everything, and more, that we needed. Ages from 19 to 80 and it suited us all. Property was clean and tidy, Nicola couldn't be more helpful and showed us round, whilst given us info on the area. Beautiful setting, waking up to these views was magical. Ashgill Waterfall High force Waterfall and the hotel.. we ate breakfast there and then returned for evening meal Durham Raby castle Barnard Castle All of the above are a must.. whilst staying at the old Miners Hall. If i had to be picky the only thing that could improve the property is tiny things like... toothbrush holders in the bathroom, a few more saucepans, hooks on the back of bedroom doors, more drawers in bedrooms. These are silly little things and the holiday was still perfect. Thank you
We were a group of 14 ladies enjoying a birthday celebration for a weekend. The old miners hall was the perfect place to relax and get together with family and friends. The house is fully equipped with everything you need and the hot tub was a great hit too. Nicola the owner was brilliant at communicating with myself as the weather particularly wasnt great, and she met us on arrival to show us around. A truly lovely break.
Old Miners Hall is a beautiful house. There was 14 of us staying for 3 nights and we had a fabulous time. Nicola is very helpful and met us at the house on arrival to show us round and explain everything. The hot tub holds 6 people comfortably and robes and towels are provided for all guests. There is also additional seating in the hot tub area. The kitchen has a huge table that can sit 14 people. Bedrooms are very nicely decorated and 3 of the bedrooms are ensuite.
We rented the Old Miners Hall to celebrate our mum and dads golden wedding anniversary three households came together 11 people and it fitted us easily. There is so much room!! Ive never stayed anywhere that is so well stocked, the kitchen had everythingeven a food mixer and a slow cooker. And two of the households have purchased a coffee pod machine after using the one at Old Miners Hall. That said, we actually used a local catering company to provide food pulled porkbrisket sarniesribsvarious salads etc would definitely recommend Highrigg catering. And we also ate out at the Crosskeys in Eastgate about 5 mins drive, which was good and very reasonably priced. The scenery from the house is amazing and there are a number of walks direct from the house. We saw so much wildlife and remnants of the old mining history right on the doorstep. Personally I didnt use the hot tub, but the kids had a great time in it! The good news it is inside with bi fold doors, so can be used whatever the weather. There is also plenty of seating and a chiminea barbecue which worked perfectly for toasting marshmallows. Would definitely recommend the Old Miners Hall. The quality of furnishing the sheets and towels were great! and cleanliness was spot on. Nicola was the perfect host, easily contactable, provided great recommendations and thank you for the Prosecco on arrivalreally helped get the celebration started.
We had a lovely stay at The Old Miners Hall. We were a party of 8 friends of mixed ages. It was fairly rural so driving was essential but the view was amazing. We loved the large kitchen table where we all met for meals & evening games. The local pub within walking distance was permanently closed but that didn't bother us. The Hot Tub was really lovely as it was in an enclosed space....so even when others didn't want to get in they were able to sit inside & chat even when it was raining. The kitchen was well equipped & the decor was modern & clean. We would happily stay here again.
A beautiful house in stunning countryside! The house had everything you need for a relaxing stay, the host was lovely and greeted us on arrival. The hot tub was wonderful, the BBQ area very pleasant, although the weather prevented us using it. Very comfortable house with many original features which added to the ambiance. Would definitely recommend staying here.
We had the most wonderful stay in this superb house. We were a multi generational family of 14. The house was spacious enough for us all and was suitable for all ages from toddler to 70 years old. The house sits in the most stunning location and the luxurious fittings and furnishings are absolutely beautiful throughout. Nicola was a fantastic host, always on hand, so helpful and easily contactable. HIGHLY recommend!!
Claire
This is a beautifully well kept and well equipped property. The owner is easily contactable and quick to address any concern. The setting is unbelievably beautiful. We loved every minute of our stay. Highly recommended.
A great week! Holiday accommodation was very clean and beautifully decorated. Bedrooms were roomy and comfy. Good storage. Kitchen very well equipped. Host very friendly and happy to help.in any way. Prosecco and flowers on arrival was a lovely touch.
From start to finish we had the best stay. The property was finished to such a high standard, and all the little details were so great, down to fresh flowers and prosecco on arrival! A stunning location too! Just gorgeous. Such a great property for getting together, and if you like cooking it has the best kitchen! Nicola the host could not have been more accomodating, and was so helpful! I couldn't reccommend this property anymore! We will definitely be back! Thank you so much we had the best time!
Beautiful house in an idyllic setting. Hot tub and BBQ area is a short 30sec walk from the property as is ideal for hosting for 10 people. Would love to stay again in the future.
We stayed at the old miners Hall as we decided to get married at hexham and wanted a family celebration afterwards. The house was more beautiful than the photos could ever show. The scenery is amazing waking up to the trickle of the stream and the countryside was fabulous. The hot tub and spa garden was fabulous and was an extra special touch as we had lovely weather too. Nicola was so helpful during our stay. We would love to come back and would highly recommend staying here.
This property was amazing! ! Comfortable, spacious & so well equipped Nicola greeted us and took time out to show us around every single room and reassured us that she was available at all times if we had a problem. This was our family holiday which consisted of 11 and we just didnt want it to end. Finally a massive thanks to Nicola and we will see you again for sure. Kind regards Mark & Lorraine
Melanie
The house is simply amazing, every room is beautiful but the owner has managed to create something special that you still feel you can relax in! The extra touches with fresh flowers, chilled prosseco on arrival were just lovely. The host was exceptional making sure we were all happy during our stay. We were a group of 14 ladies celebrating a BIG Birthday and I can't think of anywhere else I would have rather been.
Amazing stay at the old miners hall. Huge house which didnt cause over crowding with having 12 people. We also used Jane at High Rigg Catering which was a god send as all the food came cooked and ready for serving. 100 recommend that if you dont want to allocate people to have to cook. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Wed a brilliant time staying at all the Old Miners Hall. The house was fantastic clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. The hot tub was fabulous as was the BBQ area. Beautiful walks on its doorstep. Nicola made us feel very at home. Would highly recommend!
Rebecca
A fabulous property where we could all relax and enjoy the space. It was wonderfully comfortable with everything one might need. Nicola greeted us at the start of the stay and was super friendly and helpful, providing some walking material which was much appreciated. The countryside is stunning and the hot tub was a welcome addition at the end of a day on the hills. All in all we had an excellent time.
