Everything needed was supplied, lovely quiet spot, (apart from the peacocks that my husband kept feeding) the lodges weren't in a row, they were stepped, so everyone had a lovely view. Hot tub was checked and tested several times a day. Very private and secure. A great relaxing break. And good value
Joe
Small but all you could need although we couldnt get the TV signal to work but that wasnt an issue for us as we took our laptop and were out most of the day anyway, the hot tub is a great addition, the globe inn does lovely food, abit expensive but the portion size is big and the quality is good so its worth it and you do receive a discount. A lovely couple of nights spent at the Swallows Retreat. Property is very well laid out with a lot of thought put into the space in the cabin. Applicances provided were generous, alongside towels for use in the shower/hot tub. Very friendly staff, and a few surprise visits from the peacocks on the grounds made it that little bit extra special! Lovely area, Globe inn was fantastic so were the staff. The cabin we had needs a good overhaul to fix some issues arising from damp and cleanliness.

Cottage was very cosy & snug. All the equipment worked perfectly and the Hot Tub was always the right temperature. The heating was perfect warmed up very quickly when we felt cold first thing of a morning or of an evening

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 10 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 15 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 16 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 21 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
