The site itself was very good quiet and well kept. The Lodge was fantastic, tastefully decorated and kept to a high standard. I had the good fortune to meet the lovely Angie, who was delightful. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable relaxing week. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend both the site and Lodge.
Its one of the best holidays weve had. The lodge was so comfortable and everything provided that you could possibly need. Its a very relaxed and peaceful site. So many things to do within 12 drive. Will definitely be returning and would 100 recommend to others looking to book.

Everything clean, great kitchen amenities vary happy with stay
Very nice clean lodge everything you you need and more owners very helpful and kind
On arrival around 8pm the key was not in the key safe. after a 6 hour drive with a three year old you don't need that. The fridge was warm as it was set to minimum. The freezer wasn't switched on, so also warm. The dishwasher was broken. The gas cooker hob and oven didn't work. The toilet in the ensuite was blocked. There was so much clutter and tat in the property we had no where to put any of our things. Plates cups etc were dirty. The only hand soap was in the kitchen. There were so many scatter cushions on the beds when you took them off to get in to bed there was nowhere to put them out of the way. The hot tub had no chemicals in it after using it twice the water was dark brown and stank. No effort was made to visit this everyday to check the water and change the filter add chemical to it. It made our bathing wear stink. There were no instructions how to use that. Or the washing machine, or the dishwasher, or even the heating. The outside gate glass door didn't latch properly and when it was pushed home correctly overnight it opened again and banged in the wind. This wasn't our choice of property as we booked number 8 originally which we found backed on to the one we had. We were dismayed to see the owners of our property repeatedly visit the one we had previously booked and subsequently had cancelled, they evidently are 'managing it' along with many other properties on the same site, there was no one staying there which has annoyed us no end as that is where we wanted to stay to start with. Given this I doubt very much we will ever book or recommend this booking site ever again. The Park itself was well kept and ideally located.

Its a beautifully decorated property and having the hot tub is an added bonus. It had everything in the kitchen for a comfortable stay so we could see a lot of thought had gone into it. We appreciate the broken bed being replaced so that we could sleep properly but it would have been nice not to have that in the middle of our stay. The freezer has fungus in it and the fridge wasnt overly clean. There was leftover bread and biscuits in the kitchen containers but they werent sealed so we werent sure if it was accidentally left behind or not. It might be an idea to move items in the cupboards into one or two areas so that guests have space to put things? Overall though a lovely place to stay.
Michelle
It was excellent. The owners rung me back and when I needed questions answered they answered. The lodge was beautiful and was everything and more beyond what I expected. Thanks so much.

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 9 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 17 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 18 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 24 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 29 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
