Situated on a working farm, amidst the great Cumbrian countryside, is this charming, single storey pod, The Shearer. Set in a serene setting with the luxury of a hot tub, this pod is a fantastic choice for couples or families looking to experience the beauty of the Lakelands and surrounding areas.

The interior is comprised of an open-plan layout with kitchen, well-appointed for rustling up light meals, along with a dining table where you can enjoy the fruits of your labour. Pour a glass of fizz and retire to the sofa, or step out and enjoy a moment on the patio furniture, stargazing and planning the rest of the holiday.

Why not treat yourself to a dip in the hot tub, well-deserved after a long day out? Return to the warmth of the pod and get comfortable in the king-size bed or the sofa bed.

This beautiful pod has the added luxury of a velux window above the king-size bed so you can star gaze from the comfort of your own bed. In the morning, wake yourself up with a rinse in the shower before going about your day.

Our stay in The Shearer luxury glamping pod was perfect in every way. The pod has everything you need to relax and let the stresses of life just drift away. Looking at the stars whilst cosied up in bed gazing through the skylight window or sitting in the amazing hot tub was magical. Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction. With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun. You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes. Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money. There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.

South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
