Swaledale Hut At Deepdale Hall Reviews

Chelsey
Wonderful stay, highly recommended. Beautiful surroundings, friendly and helpful hosts, cosy shepards hut, was so insulated even in October. Perfect for a couples retreat. 5 stars. Will come back next year
Bren
Great attention to detail. Flowers, procesco on arrival. Top end toiletries. All requests catered for plus sharing of local knowledge. Bed was pretty high - not a problem for us but maybe for others. Perhaps a little folding step would remove that potential issue. Simply the best shepherd huts we've been to by a country mile
Gillian
Absolutely amazing went for my honeymoon it was just perfect beautiful place and fantastic views will definitely be going back
Charley
The hut was cute and cosy and the nearby sheep were adorable. The location was stunning. Extra touches were beautiful and having the hut tub was amazing after a long day walking. Loved it.

Fantastic break at the Swaledale Hut, the views were awesome as was the accommodation. We hoped for a stress free break and that's exactly what we got, we'll certainly be returning.

Swaledale hut is a wonderful place to stay - gorgeous views, such a peaceful setting and a bonus of a hot tub! We enjoyed our stay immensely.

What a beautiful location, what a cute little hut! Packed with everything you could possibly need and some brilliant touches like the theme of the hut and the bottle of Prosecco, the toasted marshmallows pack and the gorgeous Rolo brownie. We will be back next year!

Excellent experience, where the owners have endeavoured to create a very romantic setting and with the surroundings of the landscape this was very much achieved.
Lauren

The cottage was absolutely lovely, amazing views, excellent place even at the end of November. Will be sharing with friends and family. we enjoyed our stay thoroughly only part that let it down was the pub 1 mile an away was permanently closed and it wasnt mentioned anywhere apart from on the door of the pub.

Beautiful hut and beautiful views. Hot tub was lovely but I just wish we could have used more of the facilities but it was just too windy, they had a beautiful fire pit chocolate and marshmallows but we couldn't use it unfortunately, we had complimentary chocolate brownies which were beautiful and champagne but we didn't drink it as we aren't big dRead morerinkers. Honestly it was stunning we will definitely be back! Hide

This cabin in the Lakes is gorgeous! It was perfect for a relaxing weekend away. The hot tub was great, even in colder weather and the cabin itself was very secure and storm-proof!

Sarah
The most perfect little shepherds hut to stay in, clean, warm and very cute! Romantic too! The views are stunning! Would highly recommend, and would definitely come back!
Abigail
Really idyllic setting! The views are absolutely out of this world, and the stars at night are magical. A few cleanliness issues, however we really loved our stay and made some wonderful memories.
Nick
Amazing place! Hot tub and views were incredible. Place had very nice touches and everything we needed. Hope to stay there again!
Fiona
Really lovely stay, and so many nice touches by the owners so definitely recommend! However there were at least 50 flies in the hut & because it was so hot we needed the doors and windows open. It definitely needs those nets on the doors & windows so you can have them open without letting all the flies in. Also the wifi stopped working not long aft er getting there which was a shame. But beautiful location & the hot tub was so lovely!
Mark
Fabulous location - beautiful accommodation - would highly recommend and will definitely revisit-
Oliver
Amazing stay, really enjoyed the treats that were left and had an amazing time, views were fantastic, the hut itself was super cosy and the hot tub was icing on the cake, would definitely come again. Thank you very much for an amazing stay. Highly recommend to couples, and those who enjoy walking and if you like sheep prepare for a few visitors out side the door.
Hannah
What a stunning place for a last minute get away. Couldnt have asked for more from the property, the hut is cosy, and very well equipped for its size. Clean and tidy, with lovely added extras. Thank you so much. We hope to be back, and will certainly be recommending your superb Huts.
Martin
Great cosy stay in an amazing hut. Perfect location for Ullswater where we used our paddle boards. So quiet!
Lorraine
Beautiful shepherds hut. Well equipped. Great location with walks directly from hut. Definitely recommend.
Anna
We had a fantastic time in this holiday hut, which is super cute and comfortable, located in a quiet location and surrounded by mountains. Magical scenery!! We will definitely come back again! Oh, also, the owner let in the hut with some chocolate cakes and milk, super yummy. We enjoy them very much. Thank you !
Lorraine
Great location, and huts are really lovely. We started off our 3 week stay in the lakes with a few days in one of the huts and had a great time. Left a few suggestion for a few improvement, ie hair dryer, boot tray etc but on the whole would recommend for something different .
Wayne
Loved the place and the surroundings perfect.
Simon
Beautiful hut, excellent peaceful location and fantastic views. Owners were friendly and helpful. There are some great walks from the hut, Angle Tarn and Harts Crag for some fantastic views. Also recommend a boat trip on Ullswater. We would love a return visit.
Christopher
Excellent accommodation. Everything needed for a stay away plus the fantastic brownies and other goodies as mentioned by others! Leaving some milk in the fridge was brilliant as we arrived after the nearest store had closed (although it meant we didn't have an excuse to eat the brownies for breakfast!).
Oliver
Amazing location and perfect for a weekend away. Wish we stayed longer as only stayed 1 night but attention to detail was amazing and very clean and worth the price
Charlotte
Perfect location as its not too far of a drive from all the main attractions of the lake district. Stunning views, and a nice quiet, cosy place to stay. The hut was really clean and had a well equipped kitchen.
D
This is a beautiful location, it was a fabulous short break for us. Very peaceful, just the natural sounds of the brook, wind in the trees and the sheep. The facilities were all we needed . It is somewhere we will definitely put on our returns list.
Nichol
Absolutely beautiful cottage in a great location, really close to Ullswater. The little extra touches in the hut made our stay even more special. The perfect spot for a relaxing getaway!
Martin
We had a wonderful stay at the Shepherds Hut. The location is to die for, both beautiful and peaceful. The hut itself was warm and comfortable and we were just sorry we weren't staying longer. Highly recommended

Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 1 Mile
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 5 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 16 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 23 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 25 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 26 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
