Swaledale Hut At Deepdale Hall Reviews

Emma
We had an amazing time! The shepherd's hut was super cosy and well insulated, even in October. Lovely hosts and a stunning setting. Definitely coming back next year. Highly recommend!
Alex
We really appreciated the lovely touches, like the flowers and prosecco waiting when we arrived. The toiletries were top quality too. Everything we asked for was sorted, plus we got some great local tips. The bed was quite high, which wasn’t an issue for us but might be for others-maybe a folding step could help. Definitely the best shepherd hut stay we've had by far!
Emma
The place was stunning, perfect for our honeymoon. Gorgeous scenery, great vibe-we'll definitely return someday!

We loved the stunning views of the mountains from the placeand it’s perfectly located close to towns like Keswick, Windermere, Kendaland Ambleside. The sheep wandering nearby were adorable! The hot tub and fire pit made it so romantic - honestly, it was breathtaking. The space was cosy, super cleanand had great wifi. The kitchen was well-equipped with plenty of cutlery, dressing gowns, toaster, microwaveand comfy bedding. Definitely one of the nicest places we've stayed at! Highly recommend!

Sarah
We had a wonderful time at the cottage, with stunning views that took our breath away, even in late November. The place itself was really cosy and well-kept. The only downside was the pub a mile away, which was closed and not mentioned online, only on the door. Still, we’d go back!
Emma
We had an amazing stay! The hut was absolutely stunningand the views were breathtaking. The hot tub was a real highlight, though the wind kept us from enjoying some of the outdoor facilities like the fire pit with marshmallows and chocolates. The complimentary brownies were deliciousand the champagne was a lovely touch - we just aren’t big drinkers. Overall, it was a fantastic tripand we’re already planning to return!
Emma
The Lakes cabin was just what we needed for a chilled weekend. Loved the hot tub, even in the coldand felt really safe and snug inside. Will definitely return for another peaceful break!
Alex

The location was stunning, honestly breathtaking. The night sky was full of stars, which made it extra special. We did notice some cleanliness hiccups, but overall, we had a lovely time and made great memories!

Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 1 Mile
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 5 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 16 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 23 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 25 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 26 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
