Honestly, we had such a lovely time! The place was spot-on, with thoughtful touches like cleaning supplies, a free bottle of Proseccoand some homemade brownies - plus fresh flowers, which was a nice touch. The view was absolutely stunningand the location couldn’t have been better. Just a quick drive to some really beautiful spots. We’re already planning our next visit to Ullswater - it’s definitely going to be a regular thing for us!

We had a fantastic stay at this lodge! It’s not hard to findand the views from the hot tub are stunning. Listening to the stream nearby was such a relaxing touch. We stayed totally alone, as we’re a bit anti-social, which was perfect. When we needed more wood for the log burner, the owner was super helpful-just a quick call from Ambleside and it was waiting for us with matches for only £10. Honestly, can’t fault this place at all, we’d definitely recommend it!
Emma Carter

Oliver
We had a great stay at these cosy cottages! Perfectly equipped for a relaxing break, they’ve got everything you could want. The only tiny gripe was the TV placement in the Highlands one - a bit awkward for bed viewing. But honestly, it’s a minor thing. We’ll definitely return, thanks a lot!
James
We had an incredible time in such a breathtaking spot. Relaxing in the hot tub with some free prosecco, gazing at the mountain views, made us feel super luxurious, like millionaires! Honestly, we can’t recommend it enough - these memories will stay with us forever. It’s hard to put into words just how stunning the place was. Definitely a trip to remember!
Alex
We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely return! Sorry we forgot to jot it down in the notebook, we were rushing off. Such a lovely spot, thanks a lot! Definitely recommend it.

Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 1 Mile
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 5 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 16 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 23 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 25 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 26 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
