Stayed at Hares Nook with my boyfriend for my 21st, we had the best time. Our Shepherds hut was beautifully decorated and clean. We were also kindly provided with Prosecco, brownies and a fondue set for toasting marshmallows on the fire. The owners had set up a 21st balloon and banner as well as rose petals on our bed which was lovely! The scenery was stunning, and the rain didnt stop us from enjoying the hot tub. Thank you for a wonderful stay, I had a great birthday.

Loved everything about this property. Fresh flowers, home made brownies, a bottle of prosecco and a chocolate fondue kit were provided on arrival which really enhanced the first impressions. There have been some additions since we saw the photos when booking, most notably a charcoal bbq and a wooden gazebo around the hottub giving that additional p rivacy. Bath robes are also provided. The views are amazing and are complimented by the freely roaming sheep. Will definitely return. Thank You.

My wife and I stayed at Hare's Knook for her 30th, and it was a fantastic experience! The best glamping experience we've ever had. The check in was super quick, efficient and easy, and the hut itself was both beautifully decorated and very functional, with the kitchen allowing us to make a range of meals on site. The hosts had gone out of their way to make us happy with complimentary prosecco, brownies, and a smores kit for the fire pit. Ideally located super close to Ullswater, 11 out of 10!

Upon arriving, we found it to be a wonderful little cabin with everything we needed. The heater was on so that it was nice and toasty, there was a bottle of prosecco and plenty of little homemade snacks as well. The cabin was immaculately clean and stocked with cooking equipment, towels, robes and a starter log for the outdoor fire. The hot tub was sensational and provided the perfect spot to relax and take in the view. We will definitely be staying again if the opportunity arises.
Rachael

From outside seemed small. Once inside, we were delighted. Like a tardice, due to the clever lay out and use of hidden storage, Decor was emaculate, especially the theme used down to the smallest of detail. All the facilities were perfect and easy to use,Including the hot tub which we throughly enjoyed(Even first thing in the morning in the middle of November).Unexpected Roses, bubbly and delicious brownies. We did not want to leave and cannot wait to return again. Deb and Bill Barron

Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 1 Mile
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 5 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 16 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 23 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 25 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 26 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
