We have a girlie weekend away every year and have been really impressed by our venue choice this time. We were only 30 minutes from home but felt like we could have been miles away. The lodge is beautiful. For a group of 6 of us we all felt comfortable and had plenty of space. We loved the open plan kitchen/dining/seating area all looking out on a Read morefabulous view. Location, location, location. Perfectly set on the River Ribble which is spectacular. In the middle of nowhere but at the same time only six miles to Tesco and the Deepdale centre. Lots of small roads to wander down from the property, even better if you like cycling on country roads with little traffic. We had a lovely week in the Riverside Lodge. The accommodation has a wonderful location near the Ribble river and is very spacious. The hot tub and the pool table were very nice. All equipment we could have thought of was there. A very luxurious experience!

Fabulous holiday accommodation in such a beautiful and relaxing spot. The hot tub was very pleasant and having the pool table was fun too. Ideal for my elderly parents with it being on one level, and the most perfect place to relax and and the stunning scenery. Beds were comfy and we look forward to returning at some point.

What can we say, it is a stunning , well equipped property in a private and beautiful riverside location. The owners Marilyn and Geoff were very friendly and helpful but without being intrusive. It is a place where you could just stay all day and relax whilst watching the river and other wonderful wildlife or go and explore an incredible area, know ing that on your return to the lodge you can unwind in the sunken hot tub and enjoy the lovely scenery and a barbecue.

We really enjoyed our stay at Easter time. The property has everything you could need and is in such a beautiful, quiet location by the river. It was very cosy, warm (particularly the under floor heating) and everything worked very well. The owners have provided everything you could need just turn up with some food an swimwear and you are away. We had a walk in the nearby field at dusk and were lucky enough to spot a barn owl.

Absolutely stunning lodge! The photos do not do it justice it is truly a beautiful space. The host was amazing and could not do more for us and had thought of everything ahead of our stay. Excellent location at the end of a narrow country lane right next to the river. Approximately a mile to the locally pub. Uphill on the way.The view from the main room with the huge full height window is beautiful and very peaceful. Hot tub amazing. Pool table great fun along with all the other games available. What a great stay, we took time to kick back and just chill out for a few days. I could have spent hours just looking out at the views. All in perfect silence from the beautiful main reception room, or while enjoying a nice glass of wine from the hot tub. We had an amazing week. The owners were always available for all we needed and more.... The lodge is beautiful, comfortable, clean and spacious, including a very good games room. A beautiful lodge in a stunning location with views to die for! The wildlife was amazing. Roe deer swimming across the river, Herons, Little Egrets, Canada geese, Woodpeckers - Green and Great Spotted and a Nuthatch to name a few! The welcome gifts were lovely and much appreciated! Best holiday cottage we have stayed in. Finished to a very high spec and little touches from the owner make all the difference. Nothing is too much trouble and any niggles are quickly put right. Fantastic property! The lodge is beautiful and very well equipped. The owners are lovely and very welcoming and the little touches were much appreciated such as the bread, fresh cake, chocolates and Prosecco. Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Gulliver's World Theme Park - WA5 9YZ
about 26 Miles
This is a very popular theme park with three different locations.  The theme park in Warrington contains not only the theme park but also Gullivers Splash Zone and Gullivers Star Studios.  The Solash Zone is a fully heated indoor water play factory fun for all ages which will appeal on rainy days.  Throughout the year there are seasonal events too such as the Halloween and Fireworks event taking place from 23rd to 31st October.  You can book online to save time and secure your tickets during busy periods.  Over 50% of the rides are actually under cover so you don't need to worry about the British weather spoiling the fun.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 28 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
