Skirden View Reviews

We had a great 3 days, accommodation and facilities were excellent, we loved it and would stay again. Small observations, a light above the dressing room area in the main bedroom and a full length mirror somewhere would be beneficial, possible location back of a wardrobe door. Also internet was very hit and miss and was a bit frustrating. Main bedroom toilet ran constantly sometimes.

We visited Skirden View cottage for a home away from home trip with our dog. We often eye up small cottages that have a modern feel, quiet sites and beautiful views, and this location was just the option we needed. We took full advantage of the hot tub facilities in the good weather, despite there being no covering over the hot tub, it was a beautiful view looking over the fields and the animals past the farm. The amenities and welcome hamper were so well thought out, and most items of household goods in the kitchenliving space were available, especially if you have booked a longer stay. We visited lots of the local pubs, especially the local, The Spread Eagle for a few meals. They were very welcoming, had a great variety of theme nights, good fooddrink and dog friendly! If you are looking for somewhere to go for nice walks within a 30 minute drive, Bolton Abbey Ruins and Malham Cove for any of you Harry Potter fans were well worth the tough walks make sure to bring walking boots! We would definitely look to come back to this location again, and thank the hosts for an amazing stay. Thank you!
This was a lovely property that was very clean and the extra little touches were much appreciated. The only thing I would say is the the hot tub could do with a gazebo maybe for bad weather and for a little privacy from the caravaners going past and the kitchen needs a practical bin but we did have a lovely peaceful stay
Really beautiful holiday cottage that was super modern, clean and beautifully decorated. Hot tub was fab and beds very comfy. Welcome pack on arrival was a lovely touch. Only gripe was no recycling and a very small kitchen bin!

Location is great. View is amazing and the river setting is quite peaceful. Very quiet. Cottage feels brand new. Kitchen is well appointed. Beds are comfortable. Shower is wonderful. Everything worked great! Kerry is an excellent host. Very prompt responses and immediate service. We were here for more than a month and plan to return.

We stayed for 2 months at Skirden View. A lovely spot with a wonderful view. Quiet and peaceful. Extremely clean. Feels brand new. Kitchen is well appointed, beds are warmcomfortable and the showers are fantastic. Heating is adjustable to suit your requirements. Comfortable for up to 4 people. We come to this area several times a year and will stay here again.

We loved our time at Bow Laithe Cottage! Such a beautiful location, great facilities, and so warm and comfortable! It was a wonderful weekend stay with friends for a relaxed way to bring in the new year! Thank you.
Lovely property, nicely decorated for the festive holiday. Great location, with walks, pubs and Clithero on the doorstep. We have visited twice now and will likely return again. A few small practical changes would make it perfect Kitchen storage there is virtually nowhere to store food and drinks, though redistributing the pots and pans etc would free up space Seating, we were 3 adults and we couldnt sit comfortably on the L shape without tangling our legs and feet together, so I dont know how 4 people would manage, we brought through an occasional chair from the bedroom and was much more comfortable

Fantastic holiday cottage, spotlessly clean and very well equipt. Every comfort had been through of by the owners. Hot tub was a amazing extra and the views from the cottage were gorgeous. Great stay and would love to return in the future.

Beautiful place . Lovely and clean property with beautiful views . Loved the welcome pack and flowers. Amazing to sit in the hot tub and listen to the owls at night . Kerry and family wonderful hosts
Absolutely fabulous property, without doubt one of the best we have stayed at. Clearly a lot of thought has been put in by the owners to ensure the comfort of their guests. Fixtures and fittings were outstanding throughout with top quality on display in every room. The little extras such as the extensive welcome pack, fresh flowers and fluffy bathrobes and slippers provided that touch of luxury which was really appreciated. The views from the ceiling to floor doors were amazing constantly changing with the weather. Hot tub was the icing on the cake and a great way to relax at the end of the day. Cottage is in a fantastic, peaceful location but makes a great base with loads of brilliant visitor attractions within half an hours drive. Overall we had a tremendous weeks holiday at Skirden View and would have no hesitation coming back very highly recommended.
Skirden View is a very high spec property and the owners have very clearly put a lot of thought into the design and concept of the property. Clean, comfortable and modern interior and in a lovely setting with great views. Its also very peaceful. Lots to see and do nearby. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay and would certainly highly recommend, just wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you.

Stayed here with my wife and two children for a week and I have to say it's one of the best cottages we've stayed at. It was spotlessly clean, the owners have thought of everything you could ever need and there was a lovely welcome box on arrival. The hot tub was brilliant and placed so you look out over fields and Pendle Hill. There are also large patio doors which look at the same view from the kitchen and lounge. There was a local pub called the Spread Eagle which was fantastic if you're looking for food and Billy Bob's Diner in Skipton for kids play and food is well worth a visit. This is definitely a place we'll be visiting again thanks for a wonderful break.
Excellent property lovely location. Welcome pack was a really nice touch. Would happily recommend the property and the area to others.

Lovely property in a beautiful, quiet location. We stayed with our two dogs and had a brilliant time. The property was extremely clean, equipped with everything you would need including a thoughtful welcome basket which was a nice surprise. Couldnt recommend staying here enough, we will be coming back.

Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
