Gunner Lodge is a premier home away from home for a group of friends or family seeking a getaway that boasts phenomenal views of the Whernside, Ingleborough and the Ribblehead Viaduct and has scenic walking trails available right from your doorstep. Unload your bags with ease and make your way into your interior designer-styled home-from-home.
Look forward to relaxing in the spacious sitting room, sure to be the heart of the home, where you can unwind on the plush seating and select a family favourite from the TV, as the woodburning stove crackles nearby. Prepare delicious home-cooked meals in the spacious kitchen/diner ready to enjoy at the dining table as you recount the day’s adventures over a chilled bottle of wine, courtesy of the wine cooler.
If the weather is nice, fire up the barbecue and dine alfresco, followed by a dip in the bubbling hot tub and toasting marshmallows over the fire pit. After your day's adventures, prepare for bed with a refreshing shower.
As the day draws to a close, choose from four opulent bedrooms, a super-king-size which is located on the ground floor, ideal for those with limited mobility, the remaining three rooms can be found on the first floor, two super-king-size with en-suite shower rooms and a family room with super-king-size zip/link and a sofa bed, also with its own en-suite shower room. If you can tear yourself away from the Lodge, get to know your surroundings on foot or by bike along the nearby Ribblehead Viaduct and the cascading Beezley Falls.
Walkers will delight in the range of scenery to be discovered in the area, with White Scar Cave, Ingleborough and the Ingleborough National Nature Reserve all within easy reach of the Lodge making for a wonderful day of rambling; why not spend an afternoon wandering the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail for a peaceful riverside adventure. If you're travelling with children, a day can be enjoyed at Greenlands Farm play barn, where you can also stock up on some essentials from local providers, or head to Hawes where you will find the popular site of Wensleydale Creamery.
