About High Fellside Hall

High Fellside Hall, a magnificent, detached farmhouse, with its own private leisure centre, is set in its own grounds on a high hillside above the Lune Valley, just three and a half miles from Sedbergh and ten miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. A most enviable location with five acres of its own grounds, direct access to open and dramatic moorland including Barbon Fell and magnificent all-round views of this beautiful corner of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Transformed in 2008 from a former farmhouse, no expense was spared in creating this three-storey holiday home, with high tech installations throughout, integrated sound systems, sophisticated lighting systems, modern building techniques, underfloor heating throughout and the latest in solar power which all go together to provide a holiday home of considerable merit. Featuring a first-class purpose-built leisure facility which takes up the whole of the lower ground floor.

Again, little expense has been spared in setting up this first-rate facility which includes a fabulous fifteen metre heated swimming pool, a separate steam room and sauna, a built in sunken seven-seater Jacuzzi and a spiral staircase leads down to a small yoga/pilates area. The whole area is detailed with a polished stone tiled surround with a delightful seating area, a reflective bespoke ceiling, integrated lighting systems and the full-length windows afford excellent views across the Lune valley.

The main entrance leads through into a generously proportioned kitchen, fitted to a very high specification with polished granite worktops, limestone tiling, a Rangemaster 3 cooker with gas hob and hot plate, Belfast sink and adjoining pantry with impressive drinks fridge. The adjoining dining room enjoys twin French doors out onto a south facing sun terrace.

A large space able to seat the group in comfort and an ideal location to enjoy a sumptuous, cooked meal, relax and take in the wonderful views. An open hallway with full length windows, a beautiful limestone floor and gallery leads guests through to a comfortable snug with stylish furniture, a welcoming wood-burner and patio doors leading out onto the main south facing patio area.

High Fellside Hall Reviews

We had such a lovely stay here for my younger brothers 21st birthday, it was a great location for all ages from 4 to 94! !! Diane left some lovely balloons for my brother and such a lovely full welcome box of treats, these little things really do mean a lot. I would highly recommend this property to anyone and hopefully we will be back one day, everyone fell in love with the property. Thank you so much for having us! xxx
This was our 2nd trip back to High Fellside Hall and it is still as amazing as we remember! Great facilities so even when the weather isnt great it doesnt matter. Rooms comfortable and clean. Views incredible! We hope to return for a third trip!
Mrs Christina Wilkinson
The house was beautiful and perfect for our family getaway. We took my mum with late stage Alzheimers and dad who has mobility issues and both were very comfortable in the ground floor bedroom and at the large dining table with room for everyone. My sister has 9 children ranging from age 720, and they enjoyed using the facilities, especially the swimming pool and playing in the grounds. We wouldve like to have stayed longer! My daughter is training to be a chef, so she was cooking for everyone. The kitchen was amazing and had everything she needed. Utensils and equipment were all high end and we had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and towels and bedding were clean and very good quality. We had a lovely time. Some of the TVs had remotes missing. We found a sock and power bank behind furniture when we were looking for the remotes!
Mrs Sarah Morgan
Lovely property and great location. Kitchen well stocked for a large group. Cleanliness was outstanding.

High Fellside is a beautiful property in a stunning location which is immaculately presented. We have stayed in a number of feature properties across the country over the years and I would genuinely say this is the best one yet. The facilities were perfect for a large group and the attention to detail to cater for a large parties was very well thought through. The owners of the property made the stay perfect great communication, friendly and welcoming. Thank you!

Some of the hand soaps were empty so it would be good to ensure they're all full ... Some of the hand soaps were empty so it would be good to ensure they're all full before each rental, other than that 1010

Hi Diane, thank you for a fantastic weekend at High Fell side Hall, we had a a wonderful weekend. Amazing location with lovely views and fresh air. Amazing facilities, really relaxing place. The pool was absolutely brilliant and we loved it and we were all very chilled. I would recommend this place for anybody wanting to have a celebration with friends and family, or just go because you can and enjoy it, was brilliant.
Mrs Kathryn Duffy
Absolutely stunning house. Beautiful location, well set out, with great space in every room to relax. We were a team of 16 colleagues and the sleeping arrangements were great, ensuring everyone had their own space! We found that we didn't want to leave the property apart for a gentle walk, as the facilities were fantastic and we enjoyed making use of the pooljacuzzisteam room and sauna! Great communication with the host, and the neighbours young lambs with their mothers were just the cutest thing to see each morning. Would highly recommend.
Ms Lisa Fallon
The house more than met our needs as a large group including 7 young children of various ages. The indoor pool was the main feature for us to have it within the property itself was amazing. We didnt have great weather, so we used the pool a lot, sometimes twice a day. The size of the pool was perfect and having so many inflatable toys to choose from was a treat for the kids and us adults!. The kitchen was fully equipped for a large group and we cooked, and baked, every day maybe another sieve and large colander to be provided would be my only suggestion. The welcome box of treats was also a lovely treat and gesture, which we appreciated. The rooms were laid out well and having such beautiful views of the surrounding landscape, with the lambs and sheep, were breathtaking. We also went on a few walks from the house with the children and they loved seeing the lambs up close. The owner was very responsive to my queries before our stay and also when we had a few issues on the first day. Someone came to rectify the issues straight away. I fully recommend this house and I hope one day we will return.

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.

about 18 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.

Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 22 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 25 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Bowland Wild Boar Park - PR3 2QT
about 26 Miles
Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
