Lilac Lodge Reviews

Christopher
Initially shocked that the wooden looking lodge was actually plastic throughout but after getting inside, it was excellent. Spacious, warm, fully kitted out and quite luxurious for a holiday lodge. Heating throughout was very effective, the shower very powerful, big oven, good hub and plenty of storage throughout. Used the hot tub every day, which was lovely, and the patio area, chair and table set was very nice unfortunately no view, just a big hedge. The location was great, 2 minutes to a pub with fantastic food, 2 minutes from the Clevedon Way walks and a short walk downhill to the bay.
This lodge was absolutely perfect for us, spacious for me, my partner and our dog, all the facilities we needed, we had, we loved that the fence was all the way around the lodge so the dog could be outside we thought the mattress was a little too soft for our liking, also it has a dip in the middle, not sure if this may need changing? This did not spoil our break one bit and we have already discussed returning one day, this was our first holiday as a 3, and it was truly amazing, such a great lodge in a fantastic setting in such a lovely rural village, we was out walking for upto 4 hours most days! We loved having the Cleveland way on our doorstep, Thankyou lilac lodge!!
Michelle
The lodge was in a great location and was clean and tidy. The hot tub was lovely and warm and a great addition to our stay. Unfortunately the outdoor cushions were mouldy due to being left outside. There was a sign outside saying put under cover but they should have been kept inside instead. Didnt spoil our stay but may need replacing or cleaning.

The lodge was fabulous and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely location. Very quiet and hot tub was brilliant. I only point out one thing that needs addressing and that is the bathroom door would not stay shut. It just keeps opening as if the latch wasnt catching.
Great Lodge and brilliant location we love Runswick Bay. However the double bed was too small and the mattress was too soft and sank in the middle, the single beds were too small as well. Also the jacuzzi couldve been a bigger model. But apart from that it was a great place for a get away. Really enjoyed it.
Joanna
We stayed in Lilac Lodge and it was a cosy little lodge. Ideal for couples and pet friendly. The Hot Tub ideal for 2. It had everything you need and the welcome pack was a nice touch. We enjoyed the biscuits and crisps. I would say the basic end of the lodges we've stayed at previously a big caravan with better facilities. An ideal base for the surrounding area. Having the Hotel Bar within walking distance was great. The walk to the beach and back up the hill takes serious effort but worth it.
Christine
The lodge was fabulous great location very quiet and peaceful great for the dog ... The lodge was fabulous great location very quiet and peaceful great for the dog as enclosed all around the lodge and a great fenced off field for a good run lovely clean and comfy and well equipped you have thought of everything fabulous hot tub used daily after good walks as very hilly in places especially walking to the Bay but well worth it as runswick bay is beautiful great welcome pack and a fabulous toast to a great holiday with the prosecco thankyou this is not a criticism but a clothes maiden or something to hand the swim wear and towels to dry after using hot tub would be great we will definitely booking for next year a fabulous relaxing holiday
Sandra
We had a very comfortable stay at lilac lodge. I would say it is more suitable for 2 adults and 2 children rather than 4 adults, the twin room in very small. The lodge had everything we needed including washing up liquid, dish cloth,T towel and dish washer tablets, hair dryer, iron and board. Also a very well equipped kitchen. Bed and pillows comfortable. The welcome pack was appreciated. Loved the hot tub. Runswick Bay is a lovely place would love to return.
Elizabeth
Really excellent place to stay well clean everything you could want hut tub was great

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago. It was faultless, there are only a small number of lodges, so its very peaceful and quiet. Its nicely spaced out with a secure decking for the dog.Its in a great spot with the Runswick Bay Hotel a 2 minute walk away pet friendly and does great food. Would definitely book again.
Yvette
I dont usually give feedback, but I cannot not give feedback on this holiday home. . Firstly what a beautiful lodge this is, its beautiful inside & out, fantastic location fantastic for pets as they even have a piece of land fenced off where you can take your dog for a run just at the entrance of site. I will definitely be booking to stay again.
Excellent accommodation, new lodges. Very close to the Cleveland way coastal walk.
We had a wonderful stay at Lilac Lodge and we may return again in the future. The lodge was well equipped, very clean and in fact everything looked brand new. The hot tub was fabulous and quite private as they seem to have thought about the layout of all the lodges to provide as much privacy as possible. The site was lovely and quiet and we loved the location. We have never visited Runswick Bay before and we were blown away with how lovely it is, so much so that we spent a full day on the beach with our children. The lodge is 2 minutes up a very steep hill from Runswick bay which is very handy. Also very close to Staithes, Sansend and Whitby. If we do come again we would hope to stay longer as there are so many lovely places close by. My only negative is that it was quite expensive. We paid 600 for 2 nights last minute. We have stayed in lodges much bigger than this and also in a lovely location for much less money. We would however return if the prices were a little lower.
We had a lovely holiday. Lodge was brand new with everything you needed and the welcome pack was a lovely surprise. Hot tub was brilliant. Location great for All coastal resorts and straight onto Cleveland Way from site was so convenient walking to Staithes. Runswick bay is very dog friendly to. Couldnt fault anything. We will definitely book again Thankyou . Mr and Mrs Scaife. Harrogate.
We had an amazing holiday in a perfect lodge which was close to a lot of different places to eat & lots of different beaches roughly 25 min drive We took our Labrador & he loved it. Would highly recommend this lovely holiday accommodation. Lovely area to visit hope to come back soon

The Grainary Wildlife Farm - YO25 3HS
about 15 Miles
Located in Harwood Dale Village, North Yorkshire we think this attraction makes a superb family day out and couples will also enjoy the nature walks in the area.  There are 6 nature walks in total surrounding the farm so walkers and lovers of the outdoors will be in their element. Some of our favourite walks include the Spring Flowers, Pond and Village walk which takes around 35 minutes, and the Meadow and Trees walk which takes one hour.
Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary - YO12 6RP
about 21 Miles
If you are enjoying a lodge break in the Yorkshire Moors and Coast then a day trip to the Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary highly recommended. This centre is one of the regions most popular attractions and is educational as well as fun. Visitors will enjoy a journey beneath the waves, meeting many strange, beautiful and fascinating creatures of the deep. As well as mighty sharks and beautiful rays guests can get up close to some more common creatures including star fish and can also meet the otters, seals and penguins at feeding time. The site also has children's play area and picnic tables as well as a restaurant and souvenir shop. Family tickets cost £46.80 but the Tourist Information Centres in Scarborough, Whitby or Filey often offer fantastic discounts.
Sea Life Marine Sanctuary - YO12 6RP
about 21 Miles
Located in the Scalby Mills area of Scarborough this makes a fun family day out for those who are interested in marine life. The fantastic ocean tank is well worth seeing - it's been transformed into a Turtle Reef and you can see an amazing array of colourful reef fish and coral. You may also catch a glimpse of the tropical sharks and turtles. Offering good value for money this is a day out with a difference and an all weather attraction.
Peasholm Park - YO12 6QQ
about 21 Miles
This attraction is ideal for sunny days as the beautiful park is ideal for wandering out and taking in the scenery.  You can hire boats including rowing boats and canoes to enjoy the views from the water.  The pedalos with the dragon heads are always a popular choice too. Look out for special events including the Battle of Peasholm Park Naval Battle which has been described as a "must see".  You can also take a ride on the North Bay Railway which will delight children.
Flamingo Land - YO60 7EW
about 22 Miles
Situated in Malton in North Yorkshire this has to be one of our favourite family days out.  It's a theme park and zoo all in one stretching over a massive 400 acres. With thrilling rides for the very daring like Cliff Hanger, Corkscrew and Kumali, there are also more gentle rides for the little ones such as Frog Hopper and Helitoys.  Family fun attractions include the 4D cinema, the lost river ride and the Little Monsters Den of Mischief. Check out their website for seasonal events which take place throughout the year and you can also gain more information about the zoo.  Flamingo Land is a resort as well as a theme park so you can also book accommodation there.
Betton Farm Visitor Centre - TF9 3PS
about 22 Miles
Betton Farm Visitor Centre is the ideal attraction close to the North Yorkshire coastal town of Scarborough. This animal farm has all the cute farm animals you would expect to see and will appeal to younger children especially.  A great place to both play and learn we think the Betton Farm Visitor centre is great value for money.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs.  Some of the highlights of the day might include meeting Sofie the Shetland Pony and Henry the goat, as well as the pot bellied pigs called Porky and Hammy.
Castle Howard - YO60 7DA
about 29 Miles
Castle Howard is one of the regions most beautiful and historic landmarks and is located in 1,000 acres of parkland with breathtaking gardens to explore. As well as exploring the castle visitors can enjoy attractios including the unique Land Train - the best way to see the entire park. There is also a large lake offering boat trips during the summer months. In high season the site is very popular with families and offers organised activities for children including tours, talks, crafting and animal encounters. The site also has a Nature Trail which is fun for the whole family and an Adventure Playground where children can run off some energy.
Yorkshire Lavender - YO60 6PB
about 29 Miles
Yorkshire Lavender is an amazing award winning attraction offering breathtaking panoramic views of York, a Café, Plant Nursery and Lavender Gardens. The 60 acre site is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is an excellent choice for a day trip.
