Stable Cottage Reviews

Claire
Loved our week away, hosts were excellent, cottage was beautiful.
Some minor glitches which we mentioned to the owner. The main thing we were looking for was a peaceful location, and that's what we got.
Stephen
Stable cottage met all our needs. It was quiet and comfortable and the hot tub was a bonus. As we were there for 2 weeks, Elaine and Matthew allowed us to use their laundry facilities midstay. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We would return in the future.
Louise
A LITTLE GEM Stable cottage was clean and comfortable, with a private courtyard for sitting out very quiet and full of a variety of plants. Hot tub, a lovely way to relax with robes supplied! Made to feel very welcome by Elaine and Matthew, with a delicious lemon drizzle cake. Ideal countryside for cycling with many quiet country lanes ... and it's flat!!
The setting was wonderful and peaceful. The courtyard was secure for our dog and the location excellent for our usual visits along the coast. The cake left by the owners was scrumptious and the cottage well equipped for our family. WiFi and TV good, the hot tub was brilliant and truly made us feel pampered. Thank you to the hosts who were on hand if needed but didnt impose at all during the stay. We hope to be back!
Had a lovely week away, hosts were fantastic, went above and beyond in all ... Had a lovely week away, hosts were fantastic, went above and beyond in all aspects , lemon drizzle cake was definitely lovely, everything was spotlessly clean, nearly moved there xxxx
We had a lovely week at stable cottage, safe courtyard for our little dog and set in a great village with easy access to the coast. Nice and friendly owners who weren't obtrusive but were just a text message away if needed. Pity the weather wasn't kind to us but we made the best of it. Many thanks for a nice week away.
Had the best time here. Beautiful cottage with fantastic surroundings. Everything you need and more. Beautiful private garden. Lovely hosts, nothing too much trouble. And the lemon drizzle cake left for us was to die for. Lots to do and places to visit. Will definitely be back.
The cottage is excellent and great location the garden is perfect for our little dog and what a treat the hot tub is. Having two outside eating areas is ideal for morning and evening eating we enjoying so much this is our second time at cottage and we have booked to come back a third time. The hosts Elaine and Matthew are fantastic people and great to talk to.The parking area would greatly benefit from a car port as every morning you have to clean your windscreen or cover it due to being under a tree and birds but still won't stop from coming back next year.
Perfect cottage, wonderful safe garden for the dog with beautiful country walks on the doorstep. The hot tub was a bonus . Welcoming owners , not obtrusive at all , fab lemon drizzle cake and other extras were a lovely welcome suprise on arrival.
Jennifer
A lovely property with plenty of space and done to a high standard. All you need and more for a great break. Home from home in all respects. Hot tub, privacy and outdoor space exceptional. Well done to the owners .
This was our second stay at Stable cottage and it didn't disappoint. Owners provided treats including a scrumptious homemade lemon drizzle cake when we arrived. Cottage has everything you need and is clean and comfortable. It is in a peaceful location too. Definitely recommend.
Rebecca
Lovely cottage and well maintained. Hot tub was lovely at the end of the day. Great that the travel cot and high chair were provided so we didn't have to bring these for our 9 month old. The lemon drizzle cake was a lovely touch and extremely yummy! Thank you!
Carolyn
We've had a fantastic week at Stable Cottage. The cottage is very cosy and the everything you need is supplied. The little touches make the difference. The local pub is very welcoming and the food is very good. Would definitely re book.
The property the owners and there dogs were fantastic, very helpful , my dog loved his walks . Definitely going back. Thank you so much
Great property. Being very very pedantic and it being a 1st world problem, the Netflix signal wasn't great and sometimes we had to watch normal TV!!! But this is I stress a very minor issue and didn't detract from the stay. The hot tub is great, however the mounting for it is a bit dodgy esp. in wind. Again, not a lot the owners can do on this due to the shape of the hot tub. We were able to leave the hot tub lid down and only 2 of us were able to sit in there with no issues so again not a real issue. Cleanliness was brilliant and for the 1st time, I can remember, all the beds and furniture was very comfy and a pleasure to sitlie in. Pity about the weather as the courtyard looks brilliant and would love to see what this is like in the summer months!!
A lovely relaxing holiday despite the weather. The hot tub was a definite plus and the private courtyard my dog loved!
We have to say this Cottage gave us all we wanted for a weeks stay. It was so peaceful, clean and warm. A wonderful enclosed garden for the dog. The hot tub in the garden was a fantastic bonus that we used most days. Thoroughly recommend this Cottage.
Third visit excellent property ticked every box Elaine and Matthew leave nothing out and the welcome pack a great bonus
This is an absolutely top notch holiday property! Lovely layout, well furnished and lovingly decorated. So many little extras from a truly thoughtful couple. The enclosed courtyard is a fabulous space for both human and dog to enjoy.
Jackie
We had the most amazing holiday here with our 4 year old beagle. Would highly recommend and hope to go back soon.
Elaine and Matthew are the most considerate of hosts from the welcome pack to the luxurious dressing gowns. The garden was so peaceful and relaxing. The hot tub great. If you book Stable Cottage you will not be disappointed.
Sheila
Lovely cottage , with delightful courtyard and hot tub. Immaculate, with thoughtful facilities supplied and in a great location for the coast.
Tracey
Lovely cottage in a peaceful setting, need a car to get around. This was our second visit and it was just as lovely as the first time we came.
Was a brilliant holiday couldn't fault anything but the niggle we found was the hob was difficult to operate was grateful for the additional hotplate found in cupboard. Everything provided like the robes was excellent the owners went above and beyond with all the extras they provided us with and the peace and quiet and secret garden for dog was brilliant best holiday we've had in fact we've booked for next year.
Lovely peaceful cottage, hot tub wonderful .
Cassie
Everything about our stay was perfect. The location was so private and peaceful. It was the little touches that made it for us, dog towels, kitchen essentials, toilet roll and the ice cream! Real thought had obviously been given to what makes a genuine difference on a practical level. The cottage was beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean. We used the private hot tub in the courtyard every day and it was a welcome relief after a long walk.
Richard
Barn conversion has been done very sympathetically, everything is high quality. Loved the hot tub and private courtyard too.
Debbie
Lovely stay at stable cottage, would highly recommend it and hoping to visit again ourselves in the future. Communication with owners fantastic and they were on hand if anything was needed. Our dog had an amazing holiday and loved the enclosed garden
Fantastic!! From start to finish we had the best time . Great communication from owners when you had a question, amenities supplied were top notch! Beds comfy, rooms clean, fridge freezer great size for all our Christmas foodsnacks! Dog bowls provided, dogbeach towels provided, which was a great addition. Robes for the hot tub were also a massive plus! Nicely decorated for Christmas minimal but great for the size and keeping of the cottage. The garden space is brilliant, my dog loved it and to say it was a shared courtyard it still felt very private. So many positives. The nearest supermarket is in Hornsea, Tesco we took all our food with us but there was no need really as we couldve got everything when we got there as to say it was Christmas the Tesco was really quiet! Had a couple of nice walks but the highlight were the beaches. We did drive to them but they are definitely walkable. We went to Mappleton beach and Hornsea beach. The dog had the best time, I dont think he was very pleased when we got home and saw our much smaller garden
Fab cottage very peaceful well equipped
Maureen
Stable cottage was fabulous fantastic done throughout to a high standard. The garden's and out side space was lovely and Elaine and Matthew we're warm and welcoming.
I knew when I picked Stable cottage it was going to be nice but it is fair to say my expectations were exceeded. The cottage was absolutely lovely, spotless and very comfortable with everything you might need. Courtyard was a lovely place to sit out in or for our dog's frisbee practice.
We left some very minor feedback points for the owner when we left. On the whole it was a lovely, private and secluded accommodation and we had a great week in a modern home from home environment. Pet friendly with a private garden area and a number of walks from the doorstep for the dog, when we weren't out further afield.
Patricia Ann
Excellent accommodation and surroundings by far the best holiday accommodation i have ever stayed in. Wouldnt hesitate to go again and recommend it to everybody.
Excellent cottage and loved all the little extras. Great location for lots of day trips and set in such a lovely peaceful area
Samantha
We had a lovely stay and all the nice little extra touches left for us. Would definitely recommend to others.
Absolutely loved our stay at this cottage. Beautiful surroundings and decor. So peaceful. Our little dog and our 2 children loved the secure garden and surrounding areas for walks etc. Garden was little sun trap. Close to mappleton beach and hornsea. Some lovely little pubs that serve food within a short car journey or the falcon inn was a short walk. The hosts were lovely and privided little extras that were much appreciated. Will definitely rebook. 1010
Steven
This property is in a nice area and you have everything you need their hot tub is very relaxing made a nice break
Frances
Apart from no dishwasher or second WC, this cottage is perfect. Stunning location with beautiful period features, whilst being clean and modern.Set in beautiful, privately enclosed garden with wonderful hot tub. Ideal for those with a dog or without. Very comfortable beds, with a powerful shower and nice bath and large fluffy towels and bathrobes. We were not keen on the local pub,but understand that there is a good one in Ellerby, about 3 miles away. Nice country walks nearby. We had great trips to Mappleton Sands and its great cafe and to Burton Constable Hall, also with great cafe.Further trips took us twice to Beverley for its scenery and nice shops. Good Tesco also at Hornsea. Nothing negative to say about our trip here. It is a little paradise.
