The Old Wagon Shed Reviews

One of the best properties we have stayed at. Met by friendly host Helen nothing was too much trouble. Great location for exploring the area. Locals very friendly. Would highly recommend The Old Waggon Shed to friends and family.
Graham
Fantastic midweek break at The Old Wagon Shed. Lovely accommodation, immaculately clean, seemed atleast partly refurbished recently, good layout with lots of little rooms to relax in. Helen the owner is so welcoming and proud of the site, there is a decent sized communal garden that is immaculate. Virtually silent at night with only 2 rented cottages on the site. If you're accustomed to a big site that is noisy, busy, cramped and run down then this is a breath of fresh air. Shops and pubs 30 mins walk, lots of sleepy activities within 20 mins drive several sea side towns, a country house, a retail outlet etc.

What a wonderful holiday cottage. Couldn't fault anything. One of the best accommodations we have stayed in. The hot tub was a lovely bonus and used every day. Helen was there to meet us on arrival to show us around and answer any questions. We would most definitely like to stay there again. Thank you so much.
Beautiful place, immaculate and with everything there you could ask for including champagne on arrival!
Lovely cottage. Clean and cosy with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Helen the owner is lovely.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful place with great people.
Had a lovely holiday at the Wagon Shed. Everything was top quality, the beds were so comfortable it was an effort to get up of a morning! The hot tub was super and well used and the 'goody box' was very welcome along with the chilled Prosecco. Leven is a lovely village and a good spot for visiting other places. Beverley is well worth a visit. Would love to come back in the future and would definitely recommend. The Garlick family from Derbyshire
Beautiful cottage with quality decor. So peaceful and relaxing. Private Hot tub. All ground floor facilities. Beds super comfy, loads of pillows, great night's sleep. Fab dining table. Lounge with wood burner and sky TV, WiFi. 2 pubs, a butchersdeli, local grocery store. All within 2mins walk. Excellent

We had a lovely comfortable stay at The Old Wagon Shed and the friendly little village of Leven is in a great spot for access to the coast and countryside. The owners Helen and Lee were very welcoming and helpful and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage to our friends and family
Helen was absolutely fabulous and made our holiday brilliant. The Old Wagon Shed is so well placed with lots to do in the area and we filled our week with Hull, Hornsea, Brid and the local childrens farm for our toddler. The house was perfect for a family holiday and the hot tub a lovely adult bonus! I couldnt recommend it highly enough and thank you to Helen for all the extra touches and make it so special for all of us. A place to remember for sure.
We enjoyed our stay here. It had all the things we needed to make a great stay. The hot tub was superb. I would recommend a stay here.
Lovely high quality cottage. Helen the owner was really helpful and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Old Wagon Shed.

Simply stunning. The warmest welcome we ever had. 10 thumbs up and more
Excellent property Helen was a true hostess. A really enjoyable and comfortable stay. Sky sports was a welcome surprise. Thanks again, Regards, Mr West.

We received a warm welcome from Helen who showed us around. A wellstocked welcome basket & sparkly on ice awaited us. The lounge with log burner ablaze & beautifully decorated Christmas tree was cosy & inviting. We were left to enjoy our restful preChristmas break & had everything we required to hand. We are just sorry that we didn't get to see Helen, on our departure, to thank her in person.
Wonderful stay at the Old Waggon Shed for our group of ladues. The place itself is just perfect and Helen the host was so kind and helpful with everything.....even the flat tyre that appeared at the end of the weekend!! The village had everything we needed and was convenient for both Beverley and Hornsea. We do hope to return to this little East Yorkshire paradise
Wonderful!
Wow, this beautiful home certainly didn?t disappoint. From the lovely welcome we got from Helen, we felt that we had arrived somewhere special. Spotlessly clean, gorgeous bed linen, and a cute little welcome pack with a bottle of Prosecco on ice!! Perfick! We all slept very well, always plenty of hot water, so we could shower after our visits in the hot tub. It was a bit chilly on our last night there, and I was so glad because We lit the log burners, watched movies and used the hot tub. This is only 10-15 minutes from the coast, very near to Beverley, so a good location. Thank you Helen and Lee (Sometimes the wifi dropped out, but you are in the country so not unexpected. We switched to 4g and it wasn?t an issue)
We were met by the owner Helen on arrival we got a lovely welcome and were shown round the house and how everything worked. There was Prosecco on Ice, fresh bread, scones , butter, free range eggs and in addition there was also some other cupboard essentials which was a lovely touch. Great base for travelling in and around York. Village locals were very friendly and welcoming and even the dog didnt want to come home! Nothing was too much trouble for Helen and Lee hope to visit again in the future.
Antonia
Myself and my friends went on a girls relaxing weekend away after all needing a break from work. The cottage was amazing, exactly what we needed. The owner was very approachable and went above and beyond to add all the little touches to make the stay perfect such as a bottle of Prosecco which was much appreciated! The hot tub was fantastic and the location of the stay was also perfect for what we needed. In a lovely village and it far from Beverley and around an hours drive from York so very convenient. Overall we have all come away feeling very well rested. Thanks so much!

Claire
Lovely place to stay. It was spotless, bed linen good quality and the beds were very comfy. The hosts Helen and Lee are lovely and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Hot tub was an absolute hit with us girls, as was the log burner in either lounge. Wifi could be a bit hit and miss, but didnt affect our stay at all, as we switched to 4g.
Amazing holiday! We stayed in JulyAugust 2021 little late reviewing! and had the most wonderful time. Helen was super helpful over the phone prior to arriving and there to greet on arrival. Nothing was too much to ask and all of her little touches contributed to our wonderful time. The property looks even better than the photos in real life, comfy, clean and very well attended. The hot tub was lovely, checked and cleaned everyday and there was every amenity and utensil we could think of . A real home from home and will certainly return, as well as recommend to others.
Awesome cottage
Helen probably the friendliest and most laid back host we have encountered. Spotlessly clean cottage , fantastic welcome pack, easy to use hot tub, which was covered. Very comfortable super king size bed. Great bbq to use. Large rooms finished to a very high spec. We booked for Dec 2020, which then rolled over to March 21, and then June 21 due to lockdown, so glad we got there. Pub New Inns lovely food and in walking distance, local supermarket walking distance. We had a great time. Will visit again.
Had an amazing time hadn't seen my daughters for a Yr so was lovely having down time with them.

Lovely week
Rented the Old Wagon shed for a week. Owners were great. Left us alone and offered help/advice when needed. We've stopped in loads of rentals, but none had a welcome pack like this one. Also a bottle of prosecco on ice waiting for us. Bedrooms great and very comfy beds. Kitchen had everything you needed and a great circular dining table. A great social hub. Big lounge with full Sky package. Lovely sunroom leading to a enclosed private yard with hot tub. Used hot tub every day. Even managed to get my 86 year old mother in 5 days out of 7. Great location for east coast. Also nip through back gate and local pub straight across the road. We also had use of their huge well kept garden with the best BBQ/Fire pit I've ever used. Definitely recommend
Andrea
Fantastic place to stay. Lovely owner who was so nice and very helpful. Will definitely return!
We really enjoyed our time at the Old Wagon Shed Cottage. The hot tub was a great experience especially after dark. The tub was cleaned, refilled and checked daily by the owner. We didn't use the log burner but this would be very cosy in the cooler months. The lounge was spacious with a Chester style leather sofa, pseudo chaiselounge, easy chairs and a large flat screen TV with Netflix etc. The bedrooms were well appointed with comfy beds, the master ensuite being especially good. Nearby there is a large well kept grassy area with a large tripod BBQ. A few things that would have been of benefit was somewhere to dry washing, either a couple of pull out clothes lines by the hot tub or access to a rotary dryer. We found it a little difficult getting towels dry some days. Alternatively a condensing dryer would not take up too much space in the kitchen. A second shower or mixer tap set would help in the bathroom, especially when four or more adults are staying. The kitchen needs a salad bowl, a couple of serving dishes, a water jug and a nonstick frying pan. The cupboards could be rearranged to provide at least one cupboard for food. These comments shouldn't be taken in a negative way just our thoughts that maybe of help. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

With these uncertain times we can't praise this holiday enough. Just what we needed being 3 keyworkers, a vulnerable adult and 2 children . Owner was kind and helpful the building was emaculate. We can't wait to go again

Enjoyed a short break here in this immaculately clean and taste fully decorated accommodation. Everything you need is on hand including the hot tub to sooth achy legs after a days walking. Welcome box a lovely bonus. Thankyou.
Helen was a great host and greeted us upon arrival with a bottle of Prosecco on ice, a welcome pack including tea, coffee, cereal & scones & showed us around the place what more could you want? ! This weekend was a reunion of 5 girls and it was the perfect location! We went to the coast at Flamborough for a walk and then enjoyed the hot tub at night!
