Sharon
Stunning house in outstanding grounds a short walk to Loch Insh. So many lovely walks, things to do, and places to visit. Wildlife all around. Saw white tailed eagle and herd of sika deer up close around Laggan. I even enjoyed washing up, while looking at the view and birds on feeders. Stunning views all around the house. We will be back. Thank you Jenny for sharing your house with us.
Andrea
We had an exceptional time and the house style and location was what was needed for us to switch off and have some family time amongst nature and beautiful architecture. Everything just felt easy and relaxed and the hot tub was a bonus.

Wonderful Stay at KATCHANA Rating 55 The cottage is situated in a beautiful area, surrounded by stunning scenery. We enjoyed hiking in the nearby trails and the proximity to local attractions was a huge plus. Upon arrival, we found the cottage to be spotless. It was wellmaintained and provided a welcoming atmosphere. The amenities were excellent. The kitchen was wellequipped, making meal preparation easy, and we especially appreciated the complimentary coffee and tea. The beds were incredibly comfortable! We had great nights of sleep and the living area was cozy, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The host was very responsive and provided clear instructions for checkin and checkout, which made our arrival smooth. Overall, we had a fantastic stay at KATCHANA We would definitely recommend it to others looking for a peaceful retreat. Thanks for a lovely experience! FARHAN KHAN MOHAMMED
Property was well kept and very welcoming. Directions given to get there were well detailed. It was a great base for us and a great place to get back to and relax. Hot tub was a great hit with the family. Views were wonderful as was the wildlife roaming through at various times. Definitely a place to recommend.
This is a fabulous place to stay. You are surrounded by wildlife all the time and there are so many amazing things to do. The accommodation is spectacular, spacious and clean. We loved having an open fire and the hot tub.
Fantastic property had everything we needed to have a relaxing, fun holiday. Quirky, amazing cabin with great light and picture windows all around. Amazing location in stunning countryside with wonderful views and wildlife. Great area for a family from 2 years to 65 years to explore and enjoy. Loved the walks from the door to more beautiful Scottish Lochans and forests, the dogs had the best time. Thanks for sharing, perfect place to celebrate a big birthday
Christine
Stunning location with walks from the door in woodland and down to the loch, plus amazing views from the many picture windows inside this elevated, cosy and comfortable house, which make it ideal for spotting wildlife and a relaxing break. Plenty to do and see nearby as well.
Beautiful area, beautiful property. So peaceful. Very homely and well stocked with wildlife surrounding the property. Walks and snow capped mountains easily accessible. Log fire and hot tub to come back to every evening. Again, all well maintained and clean. Just short drive to aviemore which has shops, restaurants and bars. We would love to return.
Absolutely stunning location and property! Amenities were perfect and exactly what we looked for. Had a fantastic stay thank you very much!
Katchana is the perfect home from home. It was warm, comfy, peaceful and extremely well equipped. It was so well equipped it felt like someone had leant us their home for a week. It has everything you need. The bed is comfy, the shower was great. Sofas are great. The sky Q box is a nice touch so you can record something you don't want to miss and watch it later. Then there's the hot tub.. just amazing. The location is incredible with lovely views over Loch Insh. And there are some amazing walks either a very short drive or walkable from the door. I would recommend walking to Feshiebridge and checking out the sculpture trail. Also highly recommend driving to Uagh Lochan and walking the red route. The views are breathtaking. I've loved other places I've stayed, but this is the first time I felt devastated to be leaving a location. If you're lucky enough to be booking Katchana you won't be sorry.

This was our second stay at Katchana and it never fails to dissapoint. The abundace of wildlife that comes to the cottage is amazing and I would be quite happy to spend my holiday just looking out of the windows. The cottage was very cosy and clean it had everything you could wish for a good stay, the kitchen had all you would possibly need, the beds are very comfortable, there are books, jigsaw, games to use. The scenery from all the windows are beautiful, it is so peaceful and quiet. The owner of the property is a lovely lady and easy to contact.
Anthony
Loved the property and we all really enjoyed our stay.

Unique and relaxing with amazing architecture. Comfortable and clean with comfy beds, a good kitchen and huge sitting room with excellent TV etc. the heating was automatic and hot water was plentiful. Everything was perfect apart from one small point. The road could do with a scrape and fill in of holes. One of our cars had rather limited ground clearance. Local things to do are many and varied. Our kids especially liked wildlife park, water activities on the loch, and the Scottish folk museum site at Newtonmore.

We had a wonderful stay. What a beautiful place. So peaceful, and so much wildlife to see. Comfy beds, lovely log fire, amazing hot tub, dog friendly. Everything you need and more for a fab self catered stay, and more! We loved walking by the loch and exploring all the local foest trails. We would love to return. Xx
Katchana is the perfect home from home. It's comfortable and has all the facilities you need, plus more. The hot tub is a bonus and was the perfect way to unwind after a day in the wilderness. The views and walks from Katchana is what made it for us. Words can not describe how stunning it is, particularly the autumn colours. There are so many great walks right from the door. Loch Insh Watersports Centre can be walked to in under 30 mins and has loads of activities and lovely food. Thank you Jenny for a lovely stay!
Alexandra
Well equipped and dog friendly property with shops close to and plenty to seedo. Whole family and dogs thoroughly enjoyed the stay.q
We had a perfect week. It is a wonderful, magical house with views in all directions and with room for all to find a peaceful place to sit and read or daydream. We saw couple of deer, red squirrels and the badgers who came to the door for the peanuts scattered at night. We walked trough forests and by the lochs remembered from frequent visits to he area in the past. Thank you Jenny and team.
Lovely cottage, well equipped with everything you could need. Hot tub is wonderful! Fantastic location so good to be able to walk down to Loch Insh in a few minutes and close to lots of activities we particularly loved visiting the Highland Wildlife Park and paddle boarding on Loch Insh and Loch Morlich.
Fantastic individual property in a stunning, tranquil location. Be sure to pack your binoculars as lots of local visiting wildlife
The beauty of Katchana is that it is timeless. If you want a busy winter holiday or a action packed summer break or in our case, a place to relax and let the world drift past lazily, then Katchana is the perfect place. On clear nights the skies share a billion miles of stars and in the morning, feathered friends gather to be fed at your door. Pine Martins and Deer are also around the property and if youre lucky, the pine Martins come close to the cottage. The beds are comfortable, the living area is relaxing and the kitchen has all you need to suit your needs. And that hot tub!! A perfect way to end or start your day. Love love love this place.
Had a fab time staying at this cottage , a really good homely feel to it defianately go again , cottage was well equipped .

Amazing and private place to stay in the cairgorms with plenty of things to do nearby. Hot tub a real bonus! Wonderful wildlife, seems like every kind of garden bird visits the house along with late evening visits from the resident badger comes right up to the window. Roe Deer out front in the morning and Red Deer in the field at the back at night. Large modern TV and cosy log fire if staying in. Friendly and helpful owner on hand if any problems. Recommended.
Sharon

Great service and cottage and surrounding area were fantastic. Owner was extremely helpful
Katchana has spectacular views and beautiful wildlife. The owner was extremely kind to us. I left the brand new Harris Tweed purse I had purchased there at the cottage and Mrs. Anderson's housekeeper has agreed to mail it to me! Mrs Anderson told us where we could attend church and much other useful info. She is extremely helpful and pleasant.
Beautiful place. Badgers at the windows squirrels birds sheep cattle hares and deer can be seen without leaving the house. We have loads of memories at this place and love going there. So peaceful.
We had a great week in this house, the nature and wildlife is its best asset! We had a number of wild birds, a hare and deer outside the door! The hot tub gives it an added dimension and the environmental biomass boiler was great! We had snow and great walks on the doorstep. Definitely plan to return...
Wow wow wow! Katchana is a very special place, amazing views, hot tub, beautiful accomodation. Stunning wildlife visiting each day and the most wonderful walks and location. We will be back! Thank you
On arriving at Katchana , everything was lovely the views are exceptional ,going inside I thought the decor was very dated, in areas it was very dusty the windows could do with a clean as they are so big, to really benefit the views they were not clean. Shower room rather grubby but we managed with it. I did find paying a 250.00 bond rather high and then keeping 75.00 of it as a cleaning charge , I can say we left katchana clean and tidy apart from 2 bins of rubbish which would not go in the wheelie bin our bottles were taken to the bottle bank also as requested.
Amazing place and lots to do
Excellent location with lovely views. Spacious accommodation.
Lyndsey
