Beech Tree Reviews

Upon opening the front door a smoke detector fell to the floor, opened a door upstairs and a handle came off in my hand. Spider webs in almost every cupboard. The living room carpet looks like it's been used as a doormat since the cottage was built. The electrics tripped downstairs so we had to cook and eat christmas dinner using lamps we gathered from around the house. It states it is pet driendly but we had to barricade half the garden to stop the dog getting out, not that you can walk anywhere outside anyway as everything is so overgrown and moss covered you can barley make out the steps , the deck was disgusting and we ended up having to clean it as it was a liability. Over all soo disappointed we looked forward to this all year. Spoke to the owner about the electrics n stuff and he said he would send someone out in a few days then speak to sykes to see what he could do. Never heard from him since.

Really spacious and comfortable cottage surrounded by lovely countryside and minutes from the beach. The hot tub is particularly nice and very secluded.
We didnt like that the hot tub wasnt checked prior to our first use so we had to obtain instructions on how to test it ourselves, what levels were safe, what the readings on the test stick meant, what chemicals were needed etc. There were far too many glasses, crockery etc which meant most of it wasnt clean due to dusty cupboards and no use for a while so we had to thoroughly wash everything we wanted to use. We had to clean the fridge freezer and oven too prior to using them. The shower temperature was inconsistent so we were thankful for the bath especially with young children. The advertised play equipment had essential things missing such as a cue for the pool table and the hand thing to play air hockey, also we couldnt get the games console to work. These are added extras which we dont expect however we didnt take our usual toys for our children to play with expecting the holiday lets equipment to be there as advertised. Overall the cottage was very large and comfortable, especially the beds and sofas. The location was perfect for peace and quiet yet close to local amenities. The hot tub once we finally managed to get the chemicals at a safe level was large with wonderfully powerful jets. We wont be returning due to the issues with showering especially when the children have long hair that needs washing.

Fantastic cottage in beautiful ground and surroundings. The house was roomy and the children loved the games room and access to sky for their childrens programmes etc. the hot tub was a welcome bonus after a long drive and hours of walking. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend!
Heather
