This lodge genuinely stands out as one of the best we've stayed in recently. Everything from the furnishings to the bedding and towels feels top-notch. We especially enjoyed the hot tub after a long day. It’s a bit remote, so bring all you need. We’re already looking forward to visiting again in the summer to enjoy the outdoor area more!

Loved the lodge again this year, even with a different view. Very relaxing stay, hope to return next year for more peaceful getaways!

Honestly, this place is a real good place for anyone craving peace and quiet. The access road is a bit bumpy, so don’t expect smooth sailing, but once you're there, the lodge is just lovely - so peaceful with stunning views over the Solway Firth towards Cumbria on a clear day. We even had a roe deer stop by for a quick visit, which was amazing! We’ve been twice last year and once so far this yearand honestly, that says it all. Can’t wait to come back!
David
We’ve stayed here for two years now and plan to come back again. The weather was absolutely tropical! The owners are lovely and really helpful. Do you offer any discounts for pensioners by the way?

What a lovely spot! The place is just as shown-immaculately clean and cosy. Perfect for unwinding away from all the hustle. Thanks so much!

We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.

Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD

We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
