Lovely tranquil lodge . Every thing has been thought of to make your stay stress free . Beautiful high quality bed linen ( and a lovely added bonus of an electric blanket) all of the furniture compliments the lodge and the big bathroom is an added bonus . All in all a cracking stay .

The Cottage had everything you needed for your break, it was well presented and very comfortable. We had our dog with us and again everything was provided ie water/ feeding bowls, treats, drying towel etc. For the adults there was a welcome pack of wine, chocolates, biscuits and in the fridge milk and bottled water.

This is our second stay and will not be our last. The lodge has all the mod cons and faciities you rquire for a very peaceful stay. Our weather wasn't great but that did not spoil a thing. The view from the lodge and the hottub was memerising. The hot tub was used in all weather (wind, rain and snow!) and was the fabulous luxury that was needed. I would recommend to everyone. I would only mention to newcomers; be prepared. There are no nearby pubs or shops in walking distance.
Alison
The lodges have everything you require, they are set in a beautiful location which is so peaceful, great for dogs as there are plenty walks all around. Highly recommended for a quiet get away.
Sue
We loved our stay at lodge 4. Guest comfort is clearly important to Fiona and family- who spoilt us with the thoughtful welcome gifts, fluffy towels and crisp, clean bedding and useful walking guides. The peaceful location was just what we needed (not a sound from other lodges). Loved the scenic walk to Balcary Bay (lunch at the hotel!) then back o ver the fields. For a short, pretty stroll, Kippford to Rockliffe. And that hot tub with a view - sea scapes, star scapes! Hope to return.
Rachel
Couldn't fault anything at all!! If you want total chillout time and to be quite remote and away from it all, then this is certainly the place to book. Everything in the lodge that you require from cooking equipment to washing and drying, all you need to take is your food and drink Will definitely be returning 100%. The owners are very helpful, on ly a phone call away if you need any help at all. Excellent service, thank you
Alex
The lodge itself was everything you could want, it was a home away from home with amazing views. It was very clean, everything that you could need was provided and it was nice and warm on arrival! Make sure youre prepared as the closest shop is about 20 minutes away and the best area we found to be busy that was close-ish was Dalbeattie for a pub.
Glyn
If you want a relaxing care free holiday this is the place for you
Bill
Excellent holiday location to get away from the hustle and bustle.. highly recommend Rascarrel Bay to anyone seeking tranquility. Take bottled drinking water although bottle of water is available on arrival. Thanks Mrs McTaggart for a lovely stay
David
We loved the lodge and the location, its perfect!! Long walk each day with dogs then relaxed in hot tub. Cant wait to go back again. Really well maintained and well planned park. Short drive to Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas which are both great and we loved Dhoon Bay.

Sarah
Absolutely fabulous location, beautiful lodge and so peaceful. Very keen to revisit. Only thing needed to improve is an outside water tap -dogs very welcome here but sometimes need to wash paws/belly. Everything else thought of including welcome pack for our dog. Loved every moment of our stay.
Andy
Fantastic, loved it so much we booked again for next year on the day we got back!
Claire
Fantastic location for peace and quiet but not too far from local amenities in Dalbeattie, Kircudbright and Castle Douglas. Lovely views. Hosts had added some lovely touches for our arrival and our dog loved the biscuits!! Really comfortable accommodation with everything you need.
Elizabeth
Had an absolutely wonderful week in Rascarrel Bay Lodges, it's not for party goers but suited our needs to a tee. It was so good I am booking for next year before it gets booked up as I'm sure it will. Tranquil, beautiful coastal walks and lots of things to do within driving distance, don't want to say too much more as I don't want it booking up al l the time lol
Chas
The most relaxing and cozy lodge we have stayed in with incredible views. The area is ideal for when you want to get away from everything and relax. Magnus our Labrador had the best holiday with amazing walks everyday. Would highly recommend when you want to get away from the daily grind and just spend time together.
Louise

We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.

An outdoor activity center suitable for families. Featuring one of Europe's longest zip wires, jeep driving, grass sledging, archery, outdoor scooters. A mix of fun and adreneline rides and a lot more.

about 17 Miles
Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD

We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
