I booked this short break for our family time away before my youngest son heads off to Australia to work. A little apprehensive at first given there are not many reviews on line for it. But I can safely say we made the right choice for accommodation. This is a Great little house in a superb location close to the beach and a short walk to all our faRead morevourite eateries. Everything we needed for our short 4 day break in Eastbourne was there. Lovely little kitchen and dining area. A Lounge that was comfortable for the four of us and a small courtyard garden that hit the mark with the very much enjoyed hot tub. Nice little touches on arrival such as complimentary bottle of wine and the basics were there for a much needed cup of coffee. Everything clean and tidy. The house is very tastefully decorated and equipped. I wouldnt hesitate to book again when we are next heading to Eastbourne. Many thanks Carly for making our time in Eastbourne faultless. Fortress Cottage in Eastbourne was a little delight. A beautifully decorated and cosy cottage, slightly off the beaten track but close to the sea and within walking distance or a short car journey from shops, cafes and restaurants. The host had provided lovely fresh flowers on arrival which was a lovely touch. The garden jacuzzi was a wonderful adRead moreded extra which we also very much enjoyed using. Overall we throughly enjoyed our stay in what is a well looked after and tastefully decorated historic cottage. The cottage is in a residential area of Georgian and Victorian properties and so parking was occasionally a challenge, but it is free and we were always able to find somewhere even if not immediately close to the property. We had a wonderful short stay and would certainly recommend to friends or family members who want a break In Eastbourne. We loved it. Hide

This lovely farm is located in South Downs National Park - a stunning setting for a family fun day out in Sussex. The farm shop has recently opened and is a real delight to visit. Of course the main attractions are the farm animals which include goats, shetland ponies and chipmunks. The regular meet the animal sessions are very popular too. Look out for special events throughout the year including Easter Fun, Halloween and Christmas activities.

Bodiam Castle - TN32 5UA

about 19 Miles

Bodiam Castle (National Trust) was built in 1385 and much of the exterior of the castle is still in tact although most of the interior was destroyed during the Civil War. The castle and grounds are a popular attraction in Sussex and have a children's activity area and a year round events programme including Bonfire night firework displays and Halloween spooky pumpkin parades. On selected date's visitor's cam meet real castle characters and get an insight into castle life.

Bedgebury National Pinetum & Forest - TN17 2SJ

Bedgebury National Pinetum & Forest is another very popular attraction and is great for families as there is loads of open space for children to run around. Bedgebury is home to the beautiful National Pinetum and a further 2000 acres of forest as well as an excellent adventure play trail. Families can explore the site via the miles cycling routes and for the more experienced rider there are also 12 km of mountain biking tracks. The specially designed play area features a butterfly climbing wall, a spider's web, a ship wreck and tree stump nest tunnels. Other activities include Go Ape aerial ropes and a brand new zip wire course.
