Mallacleave Reviews

James
Lovely house, views are absolutely breathtaking, really enjoyed our stay!
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay! The location is perfect, with plenty of outdoor space for the kids to run around. There was enough room for 7 adults and 2 children, which was great. The games room was a hitand the hot tub was well used during our break. Bideford is such a charming little town, within easy walking distance. We also loved the nearby park with the paddling pool by the museum. The house’s position makes it easy to visit Instow beach, cross on the ferry to Appledoreand explore RHS Rosemoor and Darlington Crystal. We had a fantastic holiday!

We stayed as a big family group, spanning three generations including four teenagersand the house was just right. Plenty of space to relax and spread out, plus the games room was a hit-especially with the badminton set we brought along. Bideford isn’t exactly a bustling holiday spot, but that wasn’t an issue for us; it’s only a short drive to some lovely beaches and the Tarka Trail, which we enjoyed cycling. The only thing to keep in mind is the hill up to the house-it's quite steep, as you can see in the photos. Still, we had a great time!
Emma
We loved the space for our group, including the little ones and dog. The views are stunning and location perfect. Hot tub and games room were real highlights!
Emma Clarke
This place was really lovely, with stunning views that we'll never forget. Plenty of room for our big family!

We decided on Mallacleave to mark our 50th wedding anniversaryand from the second we drove through the gates, we knew it was going to be special. The stunning views and top-notch accommodation truly impressed us. The hot tub and games room kept us entertained, making it tough to venture out. Honestly, we can’t wait to return for another visit. Definitely recommend!
Emma
We loved the house and the lovely grounds, perfect for unwinding with the 7 of us and the dogs. The games room was a hit, full of fun and laughter. Honestly, it’s a great spot if you need a break from the busy world. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!
Emma
The house is stunning and in a fantastic spot. The cleaning wasn’t perfectand supplies like handwash, toilet rollsand towels were sparse. Kitchen was nice but a bit understocked. Despite some garden work, our stay was lovely thanks to the gorgeous scenery and overall quality.
James
We had a great stay! The house’s multiple cosy spots, especially the large dining table with stunning estuary views, made our family holiday really special. The games room and hot-tub were definite highlights as well.
Emma Clarke
The place was absolutely lovely-spotless and so well stocked with everything we needed. We all agreed we’d definitely come back again!
Emma
We picked Mallacleave for our 50th anniversaryand it was perfect! The house is stunning, in a fantastic spot with lovely views over the river. All the rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious enough for our family of ten. The kids loved the games roomand the hot tub was a big hit, even if getting in was a bit chilly! We’d definitely come back if we can get everyone together again. It really was a special place for such a big celebration. Would highly recommend!
James
We loved the spaciousness and the stunning river views. The place was spotlessand the games room was a real bonus. Definitely a top choice for big groups!
Jamie
We stayed at the house and loved the overall space, but there were quite a few issues. The lounge was a bit smalland the TV situation was odd - the small TV in the lounge was fine, but the big TV in the kitchen was awkward since it’s not really a common spot for everyone to gather. The electric blinds were frustrating-they weren’t left with a remote because it was too expensive to replace, which was a shame. The kitchen was understocked with just a few pans, no oil or tea towelsand only one oven glove - quite basic. The plot wasn’t enclosed, gates never workedand the welcome pack was pretty sparse. Heating had to be fixedand we only got four logs of wood. Definitely needs a bit of attention, but it’s a nice place overall.

We had an absolutely lovely week at this house! The location is stunning, with breathtaking views that made every morning special. The kids loved the pool table and hot tuband we all enjoyed the Dartington Crystal tour. Lundy was definitely a highlight-such a memorable trip for all generations!
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay here! The house is so bright and spacious, with those amazing all-round glass walls showing off the views. The bedrooms were super comfyand it’s just a quick walk into Bideford, with handy buses to Westward Ho!, Appledoreand Instow. The jacuzzi on the deck was a highlight, especially under the stars. The games room was a lot of fun too. It’s well furnished and has a lovely terraced garden at the back. We loved it!
