Mettaford Farm Cherry Cottage Reviews

Oliver
Cherry Cottage was a lovely spot for a quiet getaway. The view over the woods and fields really adds to the relaxing vibe. The kitchen had everything we needed, though the fridge was a bit on the small side for our shopping. It’s perfectly located in the heart of Hartland, making it easy to discover walks and hidden coves nearby. We especially enjoyed the games room, swimming pooland hot tub - perfect for unwinding after a day out. Definitely recommend!
James
We had a great stay at Cherry Cottage, despite the weather turning a bit grim towards the end. The upside-down layout was interesting, with bedrooms downstairs and the main living space up top, which worked well. The place was spacious and super dog-friendly, with several dog runs nearby. We loved having a pool and table tennis for some fun evenings. Also, the meal at the Anchor in Hartland was lovelyand we enjoyed some lovely cliff walks. Definitely recommend!
Emily
Our family stay at Mettaford Farm was truly lovely. With two young kids and a lively springer spaniel, it’s rare to find a place that suits everyone, but this place hits the mark. The pool, hot tuband games room kept us entertained, while the two dog fields were perfect for our pooch. Lesley and Robin were so friendly and helpful, even sharing fresh veggies from their garden. We’ve already booked for next year and are really looking forward to returning!
Emma Taylor
We had a lovely stay at Mettaford Farm, enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The kitchen was super well-equipped, making cooking easyand the hosts were genuinely friendly and eager to help with anything. The kids loved the games room and the pool, though we struck lucky with the weather, so we spent most days exploring the coast path and visiting the beach. For dog owners, it's worth noting the fencing is waist height, so if you’ve got an escape artist like ours, just be mindful. The early morning walks in the fields were a real highlight!
Rachel
We had a lovely stay at Mettaford Farm! The hosts were really friendly and helpful. Our 9-year-old loved the pool and hot tub, definitely a highlight! Would come again.

We had a fantastic stay at the upside down cottage! Everything we needed was thereand the views truly took our breath away. The private garden was perfect for our dog to roam around freely. We all enjoyed the swimming pool, saunaand hot tub - such a treat! The slow charger for our electric car was a real bonus. Location-wise, it’s ideal - nearby, there’s Clovelly, Appledoreand Instow, which is perfect for dog walks. Our granddaughter loved The Milkyway Adventure Park too. Would definitely come back!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The upside-down layout was a bit quirky at first, but we soon got used to it. The beds and linen were super comfy, cleanand fresh. Our dog loved the secure garden for running around. We had a great time swimming, relaxing in the hot tuband playing pool - perfect for family time. Robin and Lesley were lovely and always available. We’ll definitely return soon!

We loved the beautiful location and the facilities are excellent! Everything was well thought out and made our stay really enjoyable. It was a great getawayand we would definitely go back. One slight hiccup was the internet connectivity which was a bit temperamental but didn't ruin our experience. Overall, a fantastic time!
Oliver
We found the location to be incredibly peaceful and restful, with stunning views from the upstairs lounge area! It was quite entertaining to watch the families of sparrows going about their daily lives. Access to the A39 was super easy. The dog-friendly field was excellentand we thoroughly enjoyed the other facilities like the pool, hot tuband table tenns.
Oliver
What a lovely quaint cottage! It had all the home comforts and was really well equipped. The hosts were fantastic and super helpful too.
Emily
We had a lovely stay, renting all three cottages for our family gathering of 10 from the 21st to the 27th of December. They are all two bedrooms, but we mostly gathered in Olive Cottage as it feels bigger and has a better layout. With three dogs, we appreciated that the gardens are completely secure. The kids loved the pool, although we didn't really use the games room. All the cottages are well equipped and the local village is under a 10-minute drive to pubs and shops. Plus, there's a big Asda, McDonald's, Domino'sand Aldi/Lidl just 25 minutes away in Bideford. We'll definitely return!
Andrew
