The Anchorage Instow Reviews

Emma
We were a group of 7 couples, mostly in our 70sand this place suited us well-especially since some only stayed part of the time. The layout isn’t perfect for everyone, with a single room and a non-en-suite, but it worked fine. The parking was ample for all 6 or 7 carsand the big dining table was ideal for group meals. The kitchen was roomyand the location handy-close to pubs, a restaurant, deli, ferryand bus. We’d definitely consider staying here again if we’re in the area!
Oliver
Really enjoyed our stay! The house was super comfy and had everything we needed. Perfect spot, definitely recommend the Anchorage to anyone visiting.
Emily Carter
The views and garden are lovelyand the hot tub is a real plus. Being close to the beach and shop is super convenient. The double room works well for two kids sharing, but adults might find the bed a bit small. Overall, a cosy spot for a group of 13.
Emma
Really enjoyed our stay! The location is spot on-everything’s within walking distance, from shops to pubs with good food. The beach is just a short stroll away and the ferry to Appledore is handy, depending on the tides. Perfect for familiesand the kids adored the hot tub!
Emma
This place is in a cracking spot! We, a group of three couples, a family of fiveand an elderly lady, had an absolute blast. We spent four nights cooking in, then enjoyed BBQs and headed to the lovely pubs just down the road on other evenings. We hired bikes and cycled the Tarka Trail, had picnics on the beachand took the ferry to Appledore. There was also a steam train ride and drives to Lynmouth, Lyntonand Ilfracombe. Totally recommend this house - any questions we had were sorted quickly and easily.

The spot is brilliant, with stunning views over the estuary. It’s so handy being near Instow’s shops and the Tarka trail for walks, cycles, or runs. Johns Deli is perfect for grabbing a biteand the ferry to Appledore is a lovely touch. The house itself is spacious, ideal for big groups with plenty of rooms and bathrooms. We loved it!
Emily
Honestly, we were really pleased with our stay. The welcome basket and milk were a lovely touch! The location next to the old railway was perfect for walksand the house comfortably fit our group of 6 adults, 3 kidsand even the poodle. The shop Johns had everything, though a bit priceyand their cafe was handy for breakfast. The kids loved their own rooms, but be prepared for all the stairs if you're not super mobile. The place could do with some TLC, but overall, we had a great time!
Emily
Great spot, really well set up for big families; we loved our stay!

We organised a 70th birthday for my husband and everyone had a great time. The youngest guests loved the hot tub, especially the teenagers, while us older folks relaxed around the huge table with drinks and a tasty buffet. It was a fantastic long weekend we won’t forget. Thanks for helping us make those memories! Sorry about the balloons, we ran out of space in the car.
Emily Carter
The spot is perfect, right by the estuary with lovely walks nearby. Pubs and shops are just a short stroll. Kitchen's well stockedand the cooker works brilliantly. Shame the hot tub wasn’t ready until Saturdayand those steep stairs can be tricky. Overall, really great!
Emma

We stayed here with four families during October half term and it worked out perfectly. The house is really spacious, so everyone had their own space and facilities nearby. The views are stunningand we enjoyed a lovely walk through Instow. Our dogs had a great time at the beachand we loved trying out the local pubs, especially The Wayfarer, who managed to fit all 10 of us in last minute - really appreciated that! The kids adored the hot tuband it’s a great spot for walks. Would definitely recommend!
Emma
The house was lovely and well-equipped, though the steep staircase caught us off guard - a heads up would be good. We enjoyed the nearby bus stops, frequent buses, a lovely ferry tripand a stunning sunset!
Emma
What a fantastic house! It has absolutely everything you could want. The location was perfect for us to explore both the Tarka Trail and the beach. We really hope to come back next year!
