Ash Reviews

Michael
All good on arrival. Accommodation was good & everything in it's place. Clean & tidy. Would be happy to rebook.
We had a wonderful time in the lovely Ash lodge it was nice and cosy plenty of space and well maintained . All the beds were comfortable rooms large and plenty of space for clothes.Beautiful view from the roof balcony and we were blessed with smashing weather. The hot tub was a great relaxer after being out all day long .Many thanks for the loan of your beautiful home
Carolyn
Lovely place to stay just a couple of negatives which will hopefully be fixed firstly back door was broken, some of the lights werent working,no lock on bathroom door ! and no one came to clean hot tub all week part from that ideal place to stay to visit all the things in swanage
Ash lodge was spacious comfortable and well equipped, with the extras of rooftop terrace and jacuzzi. The only thing that let it down was the cleanliness and maintenance of the property, from cobwebsdust and stained bedding,
Stella
No facilities open ie, shop, bars and restaurant was only open for a minimum time, a few hours during the day, lodge needed a good clean, some appliances need attention and updating. Bathrooms need a proper clean and general maintenance. Lighting and fridge in need of attention. Sofas were unkempt cushions had muck in the crevices and all cushion covers needs a good wash. Suggest putting a chopping board in the kitchen. Outside grass and hedges need a good cut and trim back, if we were going to have a barbecue we couldnt have used the grass area as it was far too long. Some of the furniture up on the top decking was broken so couldnt be used. Also all cushions need to be washed. Other than these small issues we all had a lovely time. We did think the lodge itself was spacious and homely in part. Thank you Stella Davies and Party
We had lovely stay, but ,in my opinion the property could do with some maintenance and upgrading. The sun loungers on the upstairs deck had no cushions if they did we never found them one of the loungers was held together with cable ties and a piece of wood! The kitchen lacked, what I would describe as, essential items scissors, colander, chopping board, bread board etc. Information regarding recycling, what and where the bins were was not provided. Also in the ensuite when the toilet flushed it caused gurgling and water to come up in the shower drain hole which was a bit disconcerting.
Jessica
Only things which the kitchen could have done with was a chopping board and a bread board! It would also have been nice if there were cushions for the furniture on the roof. But all in all it was a great place to stay and we had a lovely time. Those are only very minor suggestions for an even better experience! Thank you for letting us stay

Loch Lomond Sealife Centre - G83 8QL

The perfect place to visit on a rainy day this large Sealife Centre is currently offering 2 tickets for £15.00 when you book online. Top attractions include the amazing shark tunnel, the rock pools and the otter enclosure. This year Loch Lomond Sealife Centre is also home to Cammy - the only Giant Sea Turtle in Scotland! The centre also offers visitors an educational experience with talks and hands on events taking place daily.
Monkey World - BH20 6HH
about 11 Miles
Monkey World is not only a local attraction but the work they carry out is amazing.  Rescuing and rehabilitating monkeys and assisting governments around the world to stop the smuggling of primates are just some of the purposes of the centre. You get to see the primates themselves many of which have become famous from appearing on the TV show Monkey World - a documentary about this place. Open year round we think this is one of best attractions in Dorset and you even get the chance to adopt a monkey if you choose.
Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park - DT2 8PY

Dorset Teddy Bear Museum - DT1 1JU

This family orientated museum is dedicated to Teddy Bears both old and new Edward Bear and his family of people sized bears are one of the main attractions.  You can buy teddy bear gifts from the quaint shop including top notch brands.  The Steiff Teddy Bear and Merrythought bears are very popular.  Open 7 days a week all year round (except 25th and 26th December) this is a perfect all weather place to visit.

Admission to the park is free of charge but each of the attractions incur a small charge.
Play & Farm Park - PO31 8PE
about 28 Miles
Described as the Isle of Wight's multi activity and play Farm park this attraction will really appeal to families looking for a fun day out.  Recently improvements have been made to enlarge the straw fun play barn and this is now the biggest indoor play space on the island.  This farm is now split into separate attractions, the play barns and petting farm which include rides on tractors and trailors and the tractor driving experience. Open all year this place is also excellent value for money.
