Cardigan Bay House Reviews

Michelle
The best two things about this house was the location and the views. Unfortunately the house was not up to the normal standard of the houses we have had in the past, 2 out of 6 showers werent usable because of broken doors. Dust and cobwebs everywhere. A horrible smell downstairs, I had to go out and buy an air freshener to try and cover the smell.Read more No cupboard to put any food. Rusty BBQ and we had to buy some matches from the garage to be able to light the cooker hob as the automatic ignition Hide
Rosemary
Stunning location, the views from the house were amazing. Lots of lovely places nearby the visit. House was perfect for our needs. Would definetly return.
Alvar
Spacious property for 10 people and great location and beautiful sunsets in sunny days. Property would benefit from some maintenance and decorating of some paint work. Enjoyed comfortable week. Owner helpful in rectifying any problems arising.
Peter
Great location with fabulous views and sunsets .
Hywel
We had a wonderful break, it was just a pity the property was not as wonderful, having paid over 2,000 pound for 3 nights, we expected more.

We were a family of ten staying. We had a relaxed, comfortable and warm stay. Thankyou
Benita
A lovely, roomy house in a beautiful location. Plenty of room for our family of 12. Having so many on suites was a great bonus. The views from the front of the house are stunning. So many gorgeous places on the doorstep to explore, New Quay and Aberaeron to name but two. Safe to stay we all enjoyed a wonderful week at this smashing house.
Andy
We had read reviews from last year saying WiFi was poor and decor dated but these seem to have been addressed. We found the WiFi good, the decor pleasant and fresh, the beds all comfortable and the hot water excellent. The hot tub was great and our kids loved it. I would have no hesitation either in returning or in recommending it to someone else.
Bruce
A few minor issues were encountered but these were communicated to the owner and addressed. The property was spacious, well-equipped, and comfortable. There was ample room for everyone to sit around or find their own space.
Maggie
The house sits in a beautiful setting with amazing views and sunsets, picture perfect.
Sue
Beautiful views but nothing else to inspire us to return. The property is in need of total refurbishment. Almost everything is tired! The kitchen & bathroom/ en suites were in need of a deep clean or replacement fixtures. Some of the beds require new mattresses. The outside patio area & furniture need serious maintenance. The hot tub was not servic ed correctly, excess chlorine tablets alone are not enough. Such was our disappointment we left after 5 days, leaving behind beautiful weather.
Neville
A comfortable stylish period holiday home generally furnished to a high standard.
Sian
Lovely location for walkers and beach lovers with Newquay being so close. The mirror opposite the entrance was very useful and necessary showing traffic coming down the hill. Most bedrooms were a good size but the bunk bedded room was only really suitable for small children.
R
We loved the house plenty of space for everyone over Christmas, open fire place comfy sofas for chilling House had Christmas tree up on arrival would definitely recommend for large groups, family get togethers
Karen
Nice big house with good size bedrooms and good en-suite bathrooms. Views are beautiful and there was a lot to do in the area for the family.
Patricia
Amazing location with incredible views. The property inside needs tender loving care to bring it up to standard. Not the best equipped, only 1 mug but cups available and lack of tumblers, and no wooden spoons or sharp knives. WiFi is terrible and needed to coordinate who was using it . Had to clean main lounge before we used it as very dusty. Bathr ooms and bedrooms were very clean. Hot tub only worked properly on the first night so didn't use it that much. Has great potential.
Heather
A great property which provided an ideal base to explore the Ceredigion coast. Rooms were comfortable with the bonus of en-suites for each room.
Laura
Loved this property and its location. Stunning views and such comfortable rooms. We loved it as a family.
Jane
It is a lovely location and every evening we had fantastic sunsets. The property is in desperate need of refurbishment. It's shabby and tired. The house is advertised as 6 bedroom but the bunk room is a cupboard without a window. The twin bedroom had one bed with broken slates due to wood worm. The kitchen is badly equipped to cater for up to 12 pe ople .We didn't have internet for the first 3 days of our stay as it had run out of data. The owner was very helpful and quick to respond .
Mandy
Disappointing as did but reflect online photos, could do with a good clean. Hole in rotten front door. Hot tub not very clean and wasnt informed we would be without electric for several hours due to planned works nearby. The house is large and good for family get togethers and with some attention could be so much better. Good location and nice area .
Sue
A lovely spacious house, ideal for large family groups or a group of friends and in a fantastic location. The views across the bay from the front of the house are amazing. Hot tub a bonus. Sadly the cleanliness of the entire house was very poor. Cobwebs & spiders in most rooms, dog hair on the sofas and black mould in the shower rooms. The house de sperately needs updating and decorating throughout. Did not look like the pictures in the advert. Front door has a hole in it and needs replacing.
Richard
We had a wonderful time at Cardigan Bay House and would highly recommend it we were a family of 11 5 children and six adults l we had plenty of room .Newquay Aberrieron were great places to visit and the kids loved the Moody cow restaurant and the moody calf soft play great location
Fiona Jane
Plenty of space and lovely location, but a very busy road and a highly sensitive internal and external lighting system. These can set your dogs off throughout the night.
Janette
Great sized property, plenty of room for 5 couples and all had all ensuite. Bunk room not used but was quite small. House is lovely but needs some TLC, lots of dcor quite tatty plus seriously in need of a new front door as it was rotten with a hole in the bottom, so not very secure! Kitchen reasonably equipped but several empty cupboards and we co uld only find 3 teaspoons. No internet/WiFi during our stay despite contacting the owner who said he would get it sort it but didn't.
Mark
Lovely large house in a great location. We had a great holiday.
David
We had an enjoyable week and the house is in a great location with good access to the coast. However for the price I would have expected better - the fixtures and fittings need updating and the overall cleanliness on arrival could be improved. The relatively new owner Tom was very helpful when contacted.
Emily
The property really needs updating. We understand that the current owners have only just taken over but an update is fairly urgent. We had a lovely time though.
Janet
It was a beautiful property in a beautiful location. We are seven women who go away walking twice a year and its often difficult to find a property with as many bedrooms as possible and with seven separate beds. Yours was just right. The hot tub was just what we needed to relax after walking all day. The bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen wa s large enough for us all. The lounge areas were a good size too for when we all sat relaxing at night.
Anne
Everything was excellent and in a beautiful location. Views were amazing. Food and wine hamper on our arrival was a lovely surprise.

When the weather is nice this attraction is perfect as you can wander around and admire the superb range of exotic trees and shrubs.  They look different at different times of the year but one of the most popular times to see them is in Autumn.  With various events throughout the year such as Apple Weekend there is always something new to experience.  You can watch a 90 second film about this attraction on their website which is excellent.
