Hay Store Reviews

Rebecca
Already told the owner that the lamp in our room wasnt working and the shower in the other bedroom leaked.
Lovely clean cottage
Rachel
This was an amazing property that really suited our needs. Somewhere to get away from it all and have some downtime. The facilities were excellent and the downstairs bedroom and wet room perfect for elderly parents. Table was a great size and allowed us to have a jigsaw on the go at one end and eat at the other. Hot tub was amazing and very well maintained and easy to operate we used it daily 4pm was hot tub time
Cant fault the cottage at all, it was super clean, with everything you would need for a lovely break away. Even fly spray was most appreciated. Just wish we had booked to stay longer to explore the area more. Hopefully visit sometime soon.
We had a lovely stay at The Hay Store. We did have a few issues when we was there 1 being a lot of flies no matter how many we killed with spray etc they would not go. We were advised that this had never been an issue before but was really off putting when cooking food. The only other negative we had was with the hot tub not being private, it was next to the car park and we found the family staying next door would walk past to and from their car which made us feel very awkward. The hosts were lovely, very helpful and friendly.
Wonderful place to stay
Sandra
We had such an amazing stay at hay store! Everything was perfect , from location to cleanliness in the cottage. Views are awesome, hot tub was looked after by host every morning, we even had fresh free range eggs and milk on welcome. Very nice inside and outside. Loved the morning view with a cup of coffee in the mountains and fields of sheep and little lambs playing around. Owner was very friendly and kind. We really really enjoyed at this place and will definitely come back there ! Nice private place if you want a good break from humans and city. Loved it and rate it millions of stars!!!!
Lynnette
Our week at The Hay Store was great. As usual Jane was the perfect host. Hot tub amazing. View gorgeous. We usually stay at The Dairy but there were only 3 of us so we downsized. Such a good stay at the Hay Store. Beds were comfy too. Recomend it to anyone.
George
A beautiful location, a great house with good facilities, loved the jacuzzi, lots of accessible parking and an overall good feel of the property. Loved the fresh eggs every day and the amability of the hosts
Very nice property with fantastic views in a very quiet and rural location. The property was well equipped and spotlessly clean, an ideal base for a walking holiday with beautiful scenery and plenty of nice walks in the area.
Really lovely, place was clean and tidy and quiet and peaceful we would certainly consider going again.
Michael
Another fabulous stay. Its not our first time here and it will certainly not be the last. Cant fault it and a beautiful place to unwind. Thank you!
Claire

Really pleased with our stay, we was all really happy with the standard of cleanliness and all furniture and house appliances were all good quality. Thanks for the extra bits and bobs in the house, specially In the kitchen, helped alot. Absolutely amazing views. Hot tub was such a good working quality, very nice. Slept amazing the 3 nights. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody. Very happy and hopefully be booking sometime soon. Thanks so much
We had a fantastic family holiday . Lovely and clean , family friendly layout and spectacular views . Look forward to returning .
Daniel
Great property, amazing views. Hot tub was clean and ready on arrival. Beds really comfortable and property highly maintained. We had a wonderful stay at Hay Store and would highly recommend. Local pub nearby was great too.
Bronwen
We enjoyed our stay so much. The property is convenient and intuitive with everything we needed, as well as pleasant to spend time in. The view from the property is also just lovely, especially when in the hot tub. Our host was friendly and nearby but our property was secluded and private. The surrounding area is beautiful and a great base to drive to all the other places we visited. Perfect.
Lauren
We had such a wonderful stay, the area is beautiful, the cottage is stunning and we are planning to return next year!
Everything was as expected. Good communications before our stay and answered all our questions, very helpfull, informative and accomodating. Loved it, thank you
Lovely location, very clean and very comfortable with great views from hot tub and patio. Only downer was the late book in and early departure 6pm and 9am which took the first afternoon from us. This was changed after booking, and we were told this was down to Covid but other holiday properties and locations were less severe with most extending to a 4pm booking in and 10am out to cover extra cleaning. 6pm is too late to book in and altered after booking with no change in the charge we thought this slightly unfair. That said its a lovely property.
A wonderfully secluded converted barn with the bonus of a hot tub. Very helpful owners. Only slight niggle for our group was there were only 2 dining chairs at the lovely farmhouse wooden table. 2 benches are provided but being of a certain age dining chairs would be better for our group maybe leaving just 1 bench. Otherwise I cannot fault this accommodation.
Cheryl
Excellent accommodation well equipped very comfortable good location over all an ... Excellent accommodation well equipped very comfortable good location over all an excellent experience would definitely return for another holiday but unfortunately no dogs next year
Lesley
Gorgeous surroundings and great, clean accommodation, the Eco heating that comes from the wood barn which is going 247,so a relaxing soak in the hot tub is slightly disturbed by steam noises and the workings going on in the barn. But stick your Bluetooth music on through the hot tub helps. WiFi is awful, even for browsing, only accessible in the lounge or ground floor bedroom and that was hit and miss. Not ideal with 2 teenagers, 2 twentysomethings, needing to access the Internet for workemails. Lovely gesture from the owners leaving milk, eggs and butter for our arrival. Description was slightly different on booking, but the owner accommodated us and opened up the twin room no longer in use, now a store room Good area for accessing snowdonia national Park. Walk into the village was pleasant, small pub and Spar Shop.
Great location, peaceful, lovely hosts and very well equipped and clean cottage
Sandra
Julia the owner very friendly nothing too much trouble . .. beautiful place. had a fantastic week .highly recommend these cottages for a family break
Michael
Had a great holiday. Fantastic veiws from the location, all you need to unwind and recharge .Thank you to our hosts.
Fabulous cottage with stunning views and entertaining neighbours cows. Beds most comfortable Ive ever had in holiday cottage, a very minor complaint, the skylight in twin room lets daylight in from 4am, but we were grateful that the owner let us use that room, so not really a major issue. Having 4 bathrooms a bonus, well stocked kitchen, plenty of lounge room. Hot tub lovely and warm. Found amazing restaurant in Corwen, Old wives Tales, an absolute must, food fabulous. Was sorry to go home, would definitely stay again
Great views, great location, lovely property, and space Attentive owners who did ... Great views, great location, lovely property, and space Attentive owners who did everything to make it a great stay Sadly Sykes allowed a booking in the adjoining property which was a Stag weekend, with folks who were still playing loud music at 5am despite the best efforts of the owners
Everything was perfect, from booking with no fuss, to arriving at this amazing cottage. Best place we have ever stayed in. Spotlessly clean and fantastic host. Will be booking again in the very near future.
Rachael
This place was just amazing. Me and my family and our dog recently stayed here and it was beautiful. The views are unreal. Very clean, lot bigger than pictures shown. Owners left butter, eggs and milk out for our arrival. Beds are very comfortable to sleep in. Outdoor space was my favourite, lots of tables to sit on, hot tub was amazing to sit it and take in views. There is a really nice lake at the bottom aswell, which is worth going down to! I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend staying here to anyone who is thinking of booking it.

We had a lovely time. The barn is in a good location, easy to access Llangollen and Snowdonia and very pretty surroundings. Even in bad weather we had a good time lounging in the barn and particularly loved the hot tub.
The cottage was perfect , extremely clean and comfortable and the hot tub was fantastic, we will definitely be booking again.
Amazing location! Perfect place to get away from busy life and just chill!
Heather
AMAZING , house was clean and the host was lovely. We took our dog and there was ample room for him to run around and enjoy the walks in the area.Cottage exceeded our wildest dreams.the view is to die for.Eggs milk and butter extras like soap binbags etc left by host which is a lovely touch. A welcome letter explaining the check in times, the area and hot tub details Sykes cottages on the other hand were a absolute pain with changing details by email twice.Checking times no hot tub and also no way of contacting them. If it wasnt for the host this would be a complete different review.
Pauline
Lovely converted barn property that has been really well thought out. Very clean and comfortable. Beautiful, peaceful setting. Hot tub was fab! Everything you need for a relaxing break.
Andrius
Accommodation was good , most everything was fine. Just Little things in the kitchen need to upgradeadd more .Out side its really good apart of where is grass !! no any fence !!! so all dogs from neighbors was coming every 10 min ,dogs was barking non stop Location was really Good . Thank You !!!
The Hay Store was a total hidden gem. All bedrooms were ensuite and the beds were SO comfortable. The little things just made it Julia had left us milk, freshly laid eggs and Welsh butter, as well as tea, coffee & sugar which was very welcome after a long drive. The long weekend was a surprise for my sister's 60th birthday, with another sister travelling from Cyprus as well as other family members. Julia has thought of everything & it was just perfect, with all the home comforts, the place was clean, welcoming, plenty of room and very very toasty and warm for all 7 of us. The views were spectacular and breathtaking, I could have boiled away all night in the hot tub just looking out across the sheep field and river to the hills. Even sitting on the patio in the morning with a cuppa and watching the cloud roll over the hills was just mesmerising. Despite the cold & wet weather, we all felt very comfortable, warm and very very chilled out. We are loathe to put such a glowing report as we'd like keep this wonderful secret all to ourselves! We SHALL be returning.
Cottages was very comfortable in a lovely location. Nice touch to have fresh eggs, milk and butter on arrival. Hot tub was a fantastic way to relax and take in the beautiful scenery.
Helena
Perfect place for a family gathering. Especially if your grandparents over 80 are coming, the downstairs room is perfect for them so much accessibility. The hot tub was amazing and great after a hike up snowdon. All bedrooms fitted with ensuites with amazing water pressure! We all loved our stay and would come back, perfect owners too who are very friendly.
